@YungDubstep Just because you have Massive, doesn't mean you have any of the sounds that these producers use. Sure you can use a tutorial and find out how to make the sound yourself, but then whats so unique about your music?
Fuck all you morons who are saying he took "Skrillex samples" do ya'll idiots even fucking know how you synthesize a bassline like these producers do? You do it in a fucking program, and those "samples" are not something you can just get out of thin air, already made and everything. All the sounds of dubstep that you hear are made, by the artist themselves, so, unless Dillon Francis got on Skrillex's computer and took all his synth patches that Skrillex made himself, HE DIDN'T SAMPLE SKRILLEX.
@YungDubstep Actually you're stupid. They sell packs for all software ranging from Massive, to Logic, to Reason, ect that contain pre-made synths for easy use. Nice paragraph of nonsense though.
@dubst5p Building on this, we can assume the respective parent companies for those software suites have copyrighted the sounds in sample packs that are released. So, they aren't really Skrillex's sounds to begin with either. He's using them under licensed terms.
@egsurfer700 No not in that aspect. It's kind of like making your own PC games. Microsoft or Apple has no hand in it, or in this case the Software producers, they are patches made by individuals. So Skrillex and ect ect made their own patches initially, but people make patches to copy them and then distribute them to the masses.
