someone told me it was because I have SP2. Does that effect anyting?

I've done everything that it says to do on this video. the black box even says that it installed correctly.when I right click on the desktop, it gives me the option to play dreamscene, but when I try to change my background to something that is playable, it doesn't show anything but picture files. I clicked on the little arrow to choose something other than just picture fles, but pic files is the only thing on the list. Also, I tried right clicking on a video and clicking set as bg. Didn't work.

Ok i think you are getting stuck on the CMD bit. To start the Command thing (black box) Press Ctrl - C, Then press N then enter, for the next bit press 3 then enter

Yep, if you follow the tutorial you will see that you choose which "bit" you use.
