Anyone here remember the cartoon's they used to show along with the songs they played from various artist ? There was one called "Snoopy and the Red Baron" that I can clearly remember, but hasn't been aried since!
I love the Sonny & Cher Show - it was great to see them together.. Sad when they divorced .. The reason why Sonny was part of the Singing Duet because Cher was scared to be in front of the audience by herself so he became part of the duet.
I loved this show and them. I was devastated when they split up. There will never be another Sonny & Cher. I could watch them for hours. I wish Nite at Nite would put them on.

My uncle has saved his very first television set that he got in during these times. The other day I asked if he was going to trash it or something and he replies, "What for? That thing ain't going no where. It's one of the many things I have that will remind me of the time when television was bearable to watch. It may look extremely cheap, ancient, but that was entertainment for us in my time and we appreciated it. Wish I can say the same now..." I agreed with him.

@je9999L You're right there is a lot that is good but I find this to be better than shows like "Southpark", "Family Guy', and "Futurama". Now I'll give "Southpark" this some of their stuff is funny but some is just dumb, gross crap.
It's sad that TVLand got rid of or lost the rights to show these shows on a daily basis.Perhaps the new Antenna TV could in the near future grab a hold of the rights to show these gems.
I held cue cards on this show, circa 1973-4. Cher's timing was impeccable. Sonny was there for all the readings, rehearsals and camera blocking. Cher often attended only the final blocking and dress rehearsal, and nailed it every time, and a lot of her lines were ad-libbed. Sonny stuck to the script....
Thanks for sharing. I do believe that Sonny was a true artist and almost no one could match his recording skills in the studio. So the recollection of your experience says to me that both were underrated in talent and technical expertise.

I was around 8 years old when I first saw Cher on the Sonny and Cher show. I loved her then, and I love her now. I saw her in Vegas last month (twice), and she is still just as beautiful. I do miss the Sonny and Cher show. It was a time of innocence, and a much better world then. Cher, you're still the greatest. Rest in peace Sonny.

When I was a kid our whole family, (4 boys, 4 girls, mom and dad), had to sit and watch Sonny and Cher when they came on TV.
My dad would hit you if you made any noise!
Well, I never knew why he had to because all us kids loved them...
Anyway, this style of wholesome family entertainment is just plain old gone unfortunately and for those who got to view it we all miss it, for those who never viewed it, you missed it, sorry.

I'd love to see a Mad TV sketch of a reunion. Cher has caked on makeup, an urn containing Sonny's cremated remains takes his place (and gets knocked over), and the cute daughter shows up now as a fat transgender male. It'd be a funny sketch!

Cher is so gorgeous. Even now, even if it is from having some plastic surgery, she still looks amazing! He was honestly nothing without her, but he was a great songwriter. Their back and forth bickering here makes me laugh, in a good way. Love it.
Just another great show I grew up watching on Sunday nights. This show and the Caro Burnett show where the best back then. There is absolutely crap on TV today. No entertainment. Just a bunch of nobody's running around with a video camera like all this reality crap. Give me a freakin break!!
There's kind of an irony here...maybe it's just me but during the song her body language etc, she looks pissed.... like she wants to slug Sonny.
And after, the dialogue? Sure it's scripted, but looks like there was some realism in that.
Regardless, what a great show! I worshiped Cher with her long hair, in her fabulous Mackie gowns and sitting on that piano. For me, a little 5 year old, she was mesmerizing.
There's something weird at 3:31 . At 3:30 her hair is behind her back. All of a sudden, at 3:31 there's an camera shift, and her hair is partly in front.
TV shows used to be so inventive and funny... Now we just have reality tv shows because we are too lazy to create real actors and hilarious skits like this.

I don't care what you say, Cher was soooo beautiful before all that plastic surgery. Now she's just a caricature of herself and fodder for drag queens. I loved the outfits she wore on this show too. Cher was truly at her best at this time. With all the bickering and jabs at each other, Sonny and Cher had this special relationship and fondness for each other. You can see it in they way they steal a glance at each other,They really should have never divorced.
With all the stuff that's on cable now, I don't understand why they don't re run this show! It's great to look back at the early days of Sonny and Cher. I have the dvd set but it would be great to see it back on the tube!
The punchline ends a build up that's much to long -- it takes some comedy chops to deliberately tell a joke badly so the joke is that he's an idiot. Their timing is amazing.

Cher is so gorgeous. Even now, even if it is from having some plastic surgery, she still looks amazing! He was honestly nothing without her, but he was a great songwriter. Their back and forth bickering here makes me laugh, in a good way. Love it.

Just another great show I grew up watching on Sunday nights. This show and the Caro Burnett show where the best back then. There is absolutely crap on TV today. No entertainment. Just a bunch of nobody's running around with a video camera like all this reality crap. Give me a freakin break!!

There's kind of an irony here...maybe it's just me but during the song her body language etc, she looks pissed.... like she wants to slug Sonny.
And after, the dialogue? Sure it's scripted, but looks like there was some realism in that.
Regardless, what a great show! I worshiped Cher with her long hair, in her fabulous Mackie gowns and sitting on that piano. For me, a little 5 year old, she was mesmerizing.

why is it you can look through 150 channels on tv and all you see is garbage! When I was a kid we had 4 channels and we had good programing ,with variety shows, and stars that had talent!! I can't think of any"stars" that could actuallly DO a variety show like Sonny and Cher-Dean Martin-Carol Bernnet,etc. I agree!!! Put the re-runs back on!!

They loved each other. Cher was ALWAYS so beautiful, but Sonny was always dressed first class as well. They looked so good together. I miss them. I miss Sonny. I don't know about his personal life, but he seemed to be a decent and honest guy. RIP Sonny Bono

I don't care what you say, Cher was soooo beautiful before all that plastic surgery. Now she's just a caricature of herself and fodder for drag queens. I loved the outfits she wore on this show too. Cher was truly at her best at this time. With all the bickering and jabs at each other, Sonny and Cher had this special relationship and fondness for each other. You can see it in they way they steal a glance at each other,They really should have never divorced.
