This album to me was a stunning distillation of what makes them great.

It's not an album that's dragged them into wholly unfamiliar territory. It has however DEVELOPED their particular sensibilities very well. It's got the dense atmosphere of Pony with a more romantically coloured riff-snapping vitality.

The band hasn't projected this much urgent conviction since they delivered HEXAGRAM.

All around, this album might be their best, to me.
