I looked up this book after you gave a brief synopsis of it in your prior video. I thought the plot sounded so intriguing so i read it! It was definitely creepy but the prose was brilliant. i wondered what the author went through psychologically while she was writing it. It must not have been easy.
@heidiheidi0 I am glad you enjoyed the book. It is so brillantly put together. What did you think of the ending, when Hester goes back to One Cott Road?
@bfmate22 It was a little freaky and I think it gave the character a little bit of a Lizzy Borden/sociopath sort of spin. But I think the author might have gone that route to give H freedom from her parent's strong hold. It could have also been symbolic of the fact that she went out into the outside world and finally realized right from wrong and that she could make these choices for herself. (although I do question the fact that the household objects seemed to be telling her what to do).
i read this book last year, its fantastic! great review :)
