  • people told me wd40 is bad for your bearings because its water based

or it has water in it

  • nice pajamas there, JR.

  • never use wd 40 on sk8 wheels... it jams them up

  • Don't do it this way not hatin dude but I killed a pair of reds doing this what you need to do is get motor cleaner and degreaser and take you bearings spray a load so there's a pool of it into a zip lock bag and then shake for 30 seconds then leave them to dry . It makes you bearing hella fast and smooth

  • dumb ass, don't ever put WD40 on your bearings!

  • your right until the point you use WD40 instead get 2 drops of professional skate lubricant it only costs 7 bucks

  • i have does trucks

  • @avengedsevenfold1272 they are thunder low's right? im getting them in a week or two wat are they like ?

  • its called a rachet u retart first wd 40 now this come on man

  • You dont put WD40 on bearings!

  • whats the best thing to use get back to mee asap cause ma wheels crappy and i aint even been able 2 skat 4 ages cause of rain

  • if the bearings don't want 2 come out easily put it in a bowl of hot water 4 about 30 seconds

  • @blackops1023 my bearings were fine until i put wd40 on them, they were clean and fast for about an hour n now they are just grim.

  • wats wrong with wd 40??

  • @TheMigitNinja oil based cleaner so dirt just sticks to your bearings.

  • I let my bearings clean by themself :)

  • YOUR SO STUPID IVE SEEN CATS AND DOGS SMARTER THAN U DUMBASS. IT EATS AWAY THE RUBBER IN THE BEARING. HAVE SOME COMMON SENSE IDIOT

  • ur so stupid you dont put wd40 on ur bearings u have to use lub from a stake shop like west 49

  • you should get the dirt out of your bearings first by taking them apart and brushing everywhere. then lube.

Alot of people are saying that wd40 isnt good. Why is this? ive always thought that wd40 was a de-ruster and lubricant. How exactly does it worsen your bearings?

  • @TheBirdymusic because wd40 eats at the rubber and causes the balls to wear down faster

  • @TheBirdymusic it eats the lubracation of the bearing wich can be lubed up more so it is ok but only if you have lube to put on your bearing

  • @TheBirdymusic Mate wd40 destroys rubber so if you have rubber covers you're fucked

  • @TheBirdymusic it is made with fish oil so it spoils. and aids in rusting

  • Wd40 ruins them. U should use tri flow for a cheap lube that doesnt damage the bearings

  • @kitward24 i use wd40 and there fine if u let the bearings be for around a day or so there fine and they last long. i think personally youve just been reading everyone elses comment on the whole "wd40 ruins them". no they dont, my bearings are hella fast and clean because of wd40

  • why are any of you even cleaning them.....just get new ones!

  • @mailtostu Not all of us have the money

  • Idk bout you guys, but i bought a pair of Bone Reds 2 years ago, put them on urethane wheels, and from time to time i clean them with Zepreserve NC (which is like a metal preservant/ lubercant for cars) and my bearings still ride smooth as hell. Idk about all that ABEC rating bullshit, but im rollin 8) bearings in good shape and everything, so thats all that matters :)

  • my are better than you

  • dont use WD40, use something like ethanol or meth spirits , then dry them, and add some speed cream to lube them

  • don't listen to this dumbass.

  • Get speed cream, wd40 fucks up bearings. ask any good skateboarder (at skate shops and shit) and theyl tell you only retards do that

  • first off, its a socket wrench, second wd40 is the devil, and third of all, to properly drain the bearings after you squirt any lubricant or anything like that, take the dust cap off.

  • @xjOhn810x just stay away from the stuff, plain and simple. i used wd40 on my bike, had to clean the chain the chain prematurely. also, when oil attracts dirt, it acts like an abrasive, so if u like getting new bearings and wasting money, avoid wd40

  • go out an skate u fawkin dousche this not a rocket idiot

  • wat skateboard is tht? plz tell me

  • Nice P.J.s lolfags.

  • wd40s ciezes your bearings

  • don't use wd40. Use actually bearing grease!

  • WD40 = MURDER!

  • whats up whit ur pants???

  • everybody else says that wd-40 is a bad thing because it rusts the bearings and it attracts dirt but thats all a bunch of bullshit because i put wd40 on my bearings and they dont rust at all n all bearings are going to attract dirt sooner or later

  • I don't know what to do use wd40 or not I haven't had my skateboard to long

  • use tri flow. alot better.

  • @xjOhn810x hes an idiot dont listen to him, you do remove the sheilds but after you clean them. You remove them when u gotta lubricate and thats when u just put 2 drops of special oil in between the ball's and then put the sheilds back on.

  • Who ever uses WD-40 on bearings is stupid, it may work for a while but then that stuff will ruin the bearing shields, ruin and dry up/or rust the ball bearings.

  • if you use wd40 it will dry out the medal

  • there thunders right?

  • dude i cant even take off my wheel my bolt is stripped

  • never use wd40 use skate lube and dont use an adjustible wrench use a skate tool

  • @funtimeswithflames You can use a wrench it works the same. I use one because i don't feel like spending 20 dollars on a skate tool that breaks in like 5 days.

  • You never use that shit. You fucking tard.

  • wtf it doesnt work

  • i like dry wheels

    i think they go faster

  • wd-40 ruins your wheels dont listen to this dumb ass. it makes them run faster for like 2-3 days then it starts making your bearing wear out FAST

  • wd 40 makes your bering suck

  • hahaha wd 40 retard

  • ruining your bearings!!!!!!!!

  • wd 40 is death

  • u use a skate tool its easier & wd-40 craps it up

  • Only reason why most ppl say that WD40 messes up ur bearings is cuz they do exactly what this kid does. First of all u have dirty bearings so why the FUCK are u going to add more grease which then will attract more grease. its called clean them FIRST!! (with alcohol and make sure all the black grease is out, especially the one left on its WHEEL or else theres no point in cleaning them. Finally if you'd like, add Just a LITTLE bit of wd40,to get ur bearins spinning.DONT ADD TO MUCH!(like this kid)

  • soak them in gasoline my friend does that and the bearings never overheat

  • IF u add wd-40 make sure its a LITTLE Bit.. like less than a drop of it.thats because its just meant get the bearings spinning after u clean them; because alcohol cleans them but also drys them so u need something to get them spinning..OFcourse nothing beats the bearing cleaners but if u really dont have them u can use wd40 BUT REMEMBER! DONT SPRAY IT DIRECTLY TO THE BEARINGS CUZ ITS TOOOOO MUCH!! Spray on a Q-Tip and GENTLY apply to the bearing and should be fine.i do that and it works fine.

  • @PlanB027 what do u mean by Q-tip? This WD 40 can be a lube for the bearing rite?

  • @azan97 By Q-Tip i mean the thingy u use to clean ur ears...

Well its better if u use the bearing cleaner/lube but if u really dont have any u can use WD40 but just a BIT spray a little bit on a Q-tip and gently go around the ball bearings. make sure the lids/shields are off

  • Comment removed

  • Well, my dad forced me to, anyway

  • No it doesn't, Mike, worked fine for me mate.

  • dont put WD40 on your bearing, it will become slower -_-

  • thanks so much

  • dont use wd40 it messes em up

  • take 1 shield off for every bearing to properly clean them. you can take them off with a razor or anything thin and sharp to prop them up and off

  • So this is how I clean my bearings:

1.: Get them out and carefully wipe off the dirt on the outside. Make sure you don't press any dirt in the inside.

2.: Open the bearing on one side and brush WD-40 in there. Turn the inside round an let the WD40 clean the inside. Wipe off any dirt that you can find.

3.: Open the other side and look for larger grains that may still lock the balls. If you have one, you could maybe use an airbrush or air gun to get those out.

    4.: Reassemble an lubricate them.

  • never EVER put wd40 on your bearings

  • thanx 4 helpin to take bearings out bro.

  • WD40, r u stupid? its water based it makes your bearings rust

  • lol wd-40 aint water based, it displaces moisture and cleans and stops rust

  • dude wd-40 is like licking your lips when they're chapped!!! it keeps it moist for a little bit!!

  • sorry I don't understand.

  • ok i'll skip the simile part. pretty much it keeps it moist for a while but it makes it rust faster though because it attracts more dirt and when it dries up on the bearings it rusts unless you keep spraying it like everyday.

  • @hydrox24 yeah but after you put it on it creates a substance that collects dirt and other shit that can fuck up your bearings worse

  • WD40 is not water based it keeps water away and it helps clean the bearings. I'm not quite shure if maybe it destroys the ball's finish but i dont think so.

The only thing you should know about it is that it never replaces oil or grease because it is high-viscosity an therefore quickly disappears out of your bearings. Use it to clean your bearings. Then make sure you completely get it off the bearings (WD40 solubilizes oil and grease) and finally lubricate it with some more low-viscosity grease.

  • WD40 is the thing your NOT sopposed to apply to your bearings. whoever puts it on there is retarded

  • @MySk8forLife thank you! these kids are fuckin retarded

  • @NilesSk8er amen brotha

  • @NilesSk8er amen brotha

  • @MySk8forLife why not wd40?

  • @MySk8forLife I only put wd 40 on wallmart crappy barings but on my bone swiss I leave it is that ok or really retarted cuz I reall want to know?

  • ive used wd40 and it worked fine.

  • dont use WD40 it makes everything gressy u can buy this thing called speed cream and u should probly take the sheilds of ur barings if u can with some u cant

  • dude thanks alot i wuz having trouble changing mine lol

  • Hey there Element are giving away free skate gear if we search the net using there search engine instead of google and yahoo! dont believe me visit there website!!

    Enjoy your free stuff! XD

  • never use wd40 on skate board wheel get the proper stuff

  • it's fine. i used it like a month ago on my bearings, and they're still spinning fast as hell

  • ya dude but it rusts the bearings and destroys them. Use oil made for bearings

  • @LEGOaddict456 they may spin fast as hell but bro they attract even more stuff... they will dry out your bearings cause when wd-40 dries its like butter.... but not the good butter the bad type thats all sticky and nasty

  • @LEGOaddict456 ya wd40 is really bag 4 ur bearings u should get 5-56 or 6-56 its alot brtter for ur bearings

  • @LEGOaddict456 its not the speed. it eats ur bearings

  • @LEGOaddict456 get speed cream dumb ass

  • @LEGOaddict456

dude. NEVER EVER use WD40. it ruins your bearings. and fast too. and you always take the shields off and clean the balls. when your crappy WD40 gets into the balls your gonna get screwed. in fact, take the balls OUT OF the casing, and thouroughly clean and dry the balls. then remember to use your lube. and NOT WD40.

  • amen to that, did urs go all brown?

  • @mbdy15 whats the legit stuff? my friend has bearing lube but it only made them worse?

  • @bondonkid101 idealy use lithium grease, kinda looks like toffee n its the same stuf that is used on car wheel bearings to make them last much longer

  • @bondonkid101 i use stuff called lithium grease, it kinda looks like toffee n its the same stuff used on car wheel bearings to make them last longer, usually get it from a car gararge or car parts place

  • @mbdy15 yeah dude wd is fine but soak it in petrol afterwards

  • @ryanisme6667 like petrolium? like gasoline?

  • @mbdy15 ya i yes this spit fier stuff

  • @mbdy15 its only ok to use wd40 if u take the bearing out of the wheel and but if its in the wheel then it will wear away at the wheel

  • does a skate key work instead of the wrench

  • yeah. what i meant was that's whbat you use to take the wheel out

  • if you can wait 4 days after cleaning to skate, then it wont

  • No. Do NOT do that. it can get into the balls (that's what she said) and ruin them

  • @LEGOaddict456 how much do bearings cost ?

  • THANKS!

  • lol u took one hour to take the second bearing out lol

  • hahahha dude i cant take them out!!

  • schebboriuoriuori lorenzocanigiula

  • Listin closely NEVER USE WD-40 WHEN CLEANING SKATEBOARD BEARINGS TRUST ME!!! IT WILL RUIN THEM!!!

  • no it dosent, dude. ive done it a million times. it even says itll clean "skateboarding bearings" on the can

  • it does work, but were does it say that on the can?

  • well, i have the monster freaking beast of a can so it says like a million things on the side, and thats one of them.

  • it doesnt say that it says "Lubricates Bearings" but i might say that on urs

  • @Crowmiah yep i tryed and so far 3 bearings have popped.

  • Nice!

Im getting a new board ( I think ) for christmas!
