how do I install max? my live account has the lisence for it.. but I was to happy that I had gotten Live 8 that I pressed "no" when it asked me if I wanted to install Max... how can I get it now??
@iluvtrance69 You can't, because you can't have 1 to 1 feedback necessary for it. It comes with a couple of filters including some really nice ones, and you can cascade them but you don't have access to the filter's actual innards as much as you'd like (like adding saturation and messing around with the resonance). There may be a way that I don't know, though. You can send custom filter coefficients though.
Ive tried Ableton several times but its just not my cup of tea..does not go with my Music workflow at all...I play guitar, Bass, Keys and Drums (well...pass-able drums, lol) Logic 9 is soooooooooooo much more comfortable for me. I tried to get into Ableton to see why some people love it but I just cant.
it takes a while to get abelton live/suite, the trick is to spend a few days asigning everything to keys on your keyboard and midi devices, and writing notes on stickers placed on(or next to) those keys/knobs/faders eventualy when you get into live its the ONLY daw you can use like hardware without using a mouse, the workflow in live can be REDICULOUSLY fast if you really know your way round live. If you really took time to lern live you would never toutch anover daw.
Just goes to show how much hard work goes into making a great piece of music, and being able to translate the tune in your mind, by picking the right samples and altering them. This must have taken a long long time to piece together!
Im interested in the midi tools. I play oriental music (arabic scales mostly) & want to know if I can microtune the scales used in ableton instruments ( just certain notes to be shifted -50 cents on the scale)
I know its been done before (microtuning VSTs) I just want to know if any one have tried microtuning on max for live.
I want someone to make an effect that reproduces the auto-accompaniment style controls from 80s home keyboards - in particular the "FILL 1" and "FILL 2" buttons which play back different set-piece drum fills depending on what beat of the bar you press it on.. a useful ubiquitous performance tool back then and surely a sinch to recreate in Max For Live.
to be fair though auto tune has been used to make some pretty fucking cool vocal effects beyond the standard awful cher/hiphop bollocks that and its really fun for about 20mins.

Does Max for Live have all the capabilities of Max MSP? I want to trigger tracks in Ableton using motion sensors. Is this possible?

Hm.... Wizard? Dude, stop taking drugs!!!
Seriously: I think the wizard might be a demo of showing the possibility to add animated graphics using M4L.

Use Autotune on drums, synths and other stuff, it doesn't have to be tween vocalists and half-assed r&b singers
