It was 1971 or 2 and my best friend Jonelle was a gifted mezzo soprano,(still is) in a music class at the University of New Orleans. She invited me to the class Christmas party. 2 female students sang this umpromtu and acapella and I, who was all about Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Doors, etc. was enchanted. I have never forgotten it and never will. They sang it slowly and reverently and had no idea how it influenced me. Beautiful!
