  • Nice but I'd rather have a 250 GTO.

  • theres something about that car that just looks like its been built with a little more enzo in it

  • 3 simple numbers: 5 9 9. End communication.

  • @Rooshman What???? 599? 288s are way nicer the 599s.

  • @redmr2na GASP Blasphemy! lol

  • @Rooshman The 288 was created with Enzo's input, and was sculpted by PininFarina when they actually had to make beautiful cars, because Enzo wouldn't sell anything he didn't like. The 599 has no character. There is none of Enzo in any modern day Ferrari's. The last one to have even a shred of Enzo in it was the 355 and only because it's motor was an evolution of the 308s v8, and the styling was an evolution of the 348 which which was itself a evo of the 308 which was created under Enzos...

  • @Rooshman guidence and watchful eye. I really don't care for any of the modern day Ferraris, Porsches, Lamborghinis, or Hondas, Toyotas, Fords, etc. It's because all of them are now just souless metal boxes. All the Father figures are gone. Enzo, Ferdinand, Ferruccio, Soichiro, Eji, and Henry Ford 1. All of these men knew how to make cars right, and didn't just sell cars to sell them, they sold them because it was their passion. Now their companies just sell cars, no passion.

  • To hell with the 458 and 430. I want this.

  • so. much. FERRARI'S!

  • What cars today need are more pop up headlights, led headlights will go out of style like that, but pop up headlights....shit, they never go out of style.

  • I would rather have this than an enzo

  • Better than 458.

  • look at the license plate... proves once and for all you have to be bi to be into Ferrari's.

  • 288 GTO PER LA VITA TI AMO

  • not ashamed to say that I got an erection from that ferrari

  • Such a shame this was never raced in the proposed racing series they had in mind for this car. Was it Group B?

Since only Porsche and Ferrari had designed cars for this racing series, and all other manafacturers didn't bother with it, only Group B rallying remained (and what a show that was).

Few realize the 288GTO is just a 308 made for racing, but it's quite an improvement.

Today this are more valuable than a F40. Fewer made so it only follows.

  • @McLarenMercedes Degrading the 288 GTO as "just a 308 made for racing" is wrong. The 288 GTO looks like a 308 on steroids, but thats about it. Everything has been changed. Engine, brakes, wheelbase, track, just about every bodypart, interior, etc.

The engine is even turned 90 degrees and mounted longitudinally, wich explains why the 288 GTO has no boot in the back. The 288 GTO is closer related to the later F40 than to the 308.

  • Just another typical day at a supermarket car park in Europe.

  • The king of ferrari

  • why is that guy laying in the grass?

  • The most wonderful Ferrari road car ever built. I saw this very car back in 1988.

  • @tigerbaiter1

    Agree.

I'ved loved this car since it first came out in 1984.

Timely lines, aggressive, yet sexy as hell.

Can't believe you actually saw one. Wow

  • The exhaust is OEM

  • @DCXXX that is not factory stock. Stock is 4 tailpipes just like all ferraris.

  • @moejr1974 except for the 458

  • Forget the chemically cleansed marketing cars they make today. THIS IS IT. One of the most breathtaking Ferrari's ever made.

  • Who in the world would modify a car that rare with an aftermarket exhaust? I don't get it...

  • @twalker294 - its a bolt on part and as long as you kept the original would NOT affect value. besides the exhaust fitted there is the famed "megaphono" system made by ANSA and supplied by them and the ferrari factory - an official modification if you like.

  • SEXIEST FERRARI FULL STOP!

  • thing sounds like an animal litterly.

  • Super nice car but need to keep the factory exhaust , 8.5 rating.

  • @DCRacing0260 why ?

as long as you keep the factory exhaust aside to be put back on if sold etc then whats the issue - besides the exhaust fitted to this car is a factory approved option made by ANSA and sold by both them AND ferrari themselves.

  • Though this is considered one of the "Super Ferraris," it is very different from the other three (Enzo, F50 and F40).

    A lot more luxurious.

  • Without a doubt, this is the best sport car ever made on earth so far. FERRARI 288 GTO. I Worship You!

  • Is this the car park at the gates of heaven??

  • @dem1275 If god drove a car, it would no doubt be one of these babys.

  • an orgasm on wheels

  • 0-100: 4,9s

    Top speed: 306 km/h

Just one thing: This car was produced in 1984 for the first time. Limited edition.

To make u realize the power of this car let's compare it for ex to the maserati gransport mc victory limited edition: 2006

    0-100: 4,9s

    Top speed: 290 km/h

  • make ur fucking decision already!! turn ur lights on or off! haha

  • The car did not rev once. it was just idling

  • this is a classic car i think

    i luv this car

  • that is a super car

  • that car isnt revving! I wanna hear real revving sound!

  • Looks like he changed the exhaust to something different. Only 2 outlets. This is a pure sex machine

  • This one was once owned by Eddie Irvine. Not sure if that's him driving.

  • possibly the best car to come out of maranello. fuck all the FXX shit, this is what ferrari's all about.

  • i agree with u man...it probably is the best car that S.F actually made...25 years later(built in 1984) and still looks gorgeous.. sounds just like a REAL super car should ...and still can kick some serious ass!!!!!

  • this one is a sleeper Eh?, BUT pure sexiness. and can still kick ass with teh rest of em. and its a quarter century old

  • @stormthorgerson

So right. They lost their way after the Old man died, now it is all vulgar marketing tat and shite like FXX where they con the super-rich to pay for development....who's more stupid?

  • @stormthorgerson Absolutley right on the money. Enzo Ferraris personal stamp of approval and the body of a goddess. WIth the heart of a lion!!!!

  • @stormthorgerson

    I absolutly agree the 288 GTO (1984)

  • The FXX is the best performing car Ferrari has ever built.

  • @LTDGuitars420 Yes of course the FXX will put up a better time around Fiorano than the 288 i'm not saying the GTO will outperform it, but I would much rather own a 288 than an FXX as Ferrari keeps the non-street legal FXX at a track and you have to schedule to drive YOUR car.

  • too bad it will never see the track.

  • 288GTO is FERRARI

the 250 is amaizing..but the 288 closed the deal.

  • OMG that sound.... *droooool*

  • that's what you call "revving?"

    christ, that's "idling"

  • ORRIBLE EXHAUST

  • okay the WHOLE car is hand made, the exhaust is stock, and would diminish the car's value if it were to be changed out for something that might be nicer looking or sounding for the simple reason that the car was handcrafted... that is the beauty of that car, the fact that it isn't some mas produced like the Japanese imports or American muscle cars. that's what you pay 380 thousand to half a million for.

  • the great thing is that its hand built and that it'll still beat the crap out of almost anything you throw at it today.

  • that makes no sense. all the fastest cars are handbuilt :S

  • what i mean is, it was built to order rather than rolling out of a production line along with several thousand others etc. makes it a bit more respectable if you know what i mean.

  • Several thousands??? 272 were made...

  • i said "it was built to order rather than rolling out of a production line along with several thousand others."

i didn't say several thousand were made. i was comparing hand built and machine made cars.

  • This car is sex on wheels, Enzo got it right again, the shape, the sound, arrogance in stamped steel.

  • You have everything right except "stamped steel"! (fiberglass, composite, alu)

  • after 512tr this is my favoruite car

  • When this came out in 1984...the rest car manufactures were on trees eating bananas !!!! 25 years later and it still looks GORGEOUS !!!!

  • original badass

  • gotta love those headlamps

  • nice job filming so close

    thanks

  • My favourite Ferrari, i want one. I think they are supposed to have quad pipes not double.

  • the gto is actually a race car built for the street. you can change the gears in the gearbox at the rear of the car, depending on what type of racing you want to do.

it's definitely one of my favorite. i even have a 1/10 scale model of it.
