@brizhir No, definitely not to the extent some of the artists have gone to in terms of sex appeal (or lack of, ha) on stage. She could and probably will bring something great to modern pop. Like a modern day Mary J Blige, who is one of her big influences, and also a very diverse artist in style (singing vs hip hop etc).

@muamdev209 Are you really that ignorant??? My mom's accent changes like hers depending on whether or not she's talking to one of her co-workers or her family!!! It's called conforming to the dominant culture, which in my case is Canadian!!! Plus she's lived here for 30+ years. It's easier when you're younger!!!! Melanie came when she was preteen so she could pickup the American accent faster than an adult!!! If people had teased you every day you would have dropped your accent to.

@muamdev209 Look at Rihanna she came to the US when she was 16!!! Her accent isn't as strong when she's not in Barbados. She said she changed it because she was tired of repeating herself in every interview!!! Unfortunately people are really prejudice towards you if you sound foreign in the US, and you don't have a "favorable" accent such as British or French, It's so ridiculous!!!

As I read many comments from the haters, saying she doesn't have as a powerfull voice as so and so like Charice or Celine or Mariah, and maybe it is true, however it is her voice that attracks me to her. I mean the tonallity of her voice that is so beautifull. And she has a powerfull enough voice anyway. I never bought a cd from Charice or Mariah because their voice (tonallity) doesn't do a thing to me. But I can't wait to buy Melanie's first cd cause I won't tire to listen to her voice.
