@ALWAYS4LYF really? i can understand e=mc2 but on emancipation, i thought her voice was more powerful and it had quite a bit of clarity. there were a lot of cb songs where her voice awkwardly switched between head voice and chest voice to often and it wasn't like that at all on emancipation(or e=mc2 for that matter). however, i wish her voice sounded as good on the moaia album as it did on cb. she may have been a little inconsistent on cb but at least she could go above a B4 without cracking

OMG, love this song. It's one of the times when the title, the jazzy mood and the sensuousness merits her whispering which I can't stand otherwise. Then she does some impressive belting at the end showing us she's not completely lost it. Shoulda done a damn video for this.

she really sounds good here esp. here high belted notes "if you really need me, baby!" (g#5/a5) sounds pretty close to "i need you" Fly like a bird (a5). her belting is really high but i thought it wasn't a high head voice. i would consider it as high chest voice.

@joewhite31 So would I! it sounds clear and strong. It's absolutely chest voice. And hitting A5 with chest voice is sooo Mariah Carey! I mean, some other singers can also do it but Mariah Carey's chest voice makes you feel like it's not her limit and she can go much further to hit higher note. It doesn't sound fatigued!
