  • Thank you for letting us watch your story. What a wonderful relationship!

  • Just watching this video brought tears to my eyes. You were such an amazing owner I wish that all dogs had someone as loyal as you. You could tell that Loois really loved you. Some people would have put there dog to sleep saying him being a paraplegic would be too much trouble but you did what was right! I have 3 dogs and they are all a part of our family. They all have there own bed and toy box. Your a great person.Im glad Loois was blessed with such a tremendous owner in his life.God bless you.

  • Loois R.I.P. He has a good life and lots of love despite of the medical condition. I wish there are more pet owners like you! God bless you!

  • I'm sorry to you for your saddened heart with the loss of your loved one. How fortunate you are to have experienced this kind of love. When you are ready I hope you will help another Pit Bull feel the love and give you more love. There are so many dogs needing a loving home but the amount of Pitbulls needing homes is so sad. We just lost our loyal loving Pitbull two days before Christmas. Sure leaves a crack in the soul when they go. We must focus on all the joy and love ....

  • What a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing. I'm going to go get a tissue now.

  • This is just amazing - so heartwarming. Loois' dad, you are a true gem among men.

  • Oh yeah he is up and running as of now. he wouldnt let u down by sitting around doing nothing. i love my pit KoKo just like one of my kids if not more..lol!! take care and God bless you!

  • god bless you

  • My basset got bit by a black widown, on her tight she survived but was temporally paralized, i got one of those harness and it helped so muuch :). Now she walks and runs again, still has weak back legs but it doesnt stop her. G

    reat video thanks for sharing.

  • God Bless you, and I know Loois is running ALL over Heaven ...

  • I was very sad to read about the passing of Loois. He's surely running in a field somewhere waiting for HIS best friend to join him. So many people would have just put him down. You're a good man for sticking with him. While I know there can never be another Loois, please don't deprive yourself of a rescue animal who needs your love as much as Loois did.

  • I am so, so sorry to learn of Loois's death. I thought--& hoped, he would live...forever!

However, I want to thank you for honoring his life...by honoring your commitment to his life, irrespective of his medical condition.

All sentient beings...deserve to have their best interests honored in every decision relating to their existence & well-being, irrespective of their species designation (human or non-human animals).

Thank you for being a...shining example...of humankind!

  • Your dog is incredible, but you are truly a modern day saint.

  • Saw your video today for the second time... was featured on the Animal Rescue website where I click everyday to donate a bowl of food, and read the heartwarming stories. So sad to hear Loois passed recently. You gave him a wonderful life inspite of his challenges. God bless you... lord knows we need more people like you on this Earth. We know he's romping around (on all four legs now), looking down on you with much love! Thank you for sharing!

  • Wow! Just...wow. It is such a wonderful thing having one's belief in humanity reassured, as this video does. I am so sorry for your loss. It would have been tremendous. He was an amazing friend, and you were an exceptional "furparent". Thank you for sharing your boy Loois with us.

  • I have a tear in my eye after watching this. You are a wonderful man and the greatest dog owner I have ever seen. Loois was sooo lucky to have you as a friend - he was a beautiful dog.

  • best dog owner ever!!!<3

  • Do you have any idea how special you are? Many people would choose to end the animal's life when a crisis arose out of selfishness. You treated your dog with love and compassion for all the days of his life.

  • Thank you for feeling the love in your heart and giving Loois the best time here on Earth, you are a special man with a heart of gold

  • You are a wonderful human being and an inspiration. Loois is now free of pain and I'm sure you miss him. My pets too are my family for better or worse. Animals make this world a better place. I wish everyone could just realize that.

  • what a great dog, and even better dog owner :)

  • Beautiful.....

  • very rare i find another who understands that deep bond btween an animal and human, but this vids sums what my ruben is to me.

  • @toxicpimpsmack Amen!

  • So sorry to hear of your loss. The tears are still running down my face. You and Loois are amazing.

  • What an amazing person!

  • Sure wish there were more dedicated pet owners like this. What wonderful things he does for his best friend to help him walk and stay active. :D

  • People who fight animals need to be EUTHANIZED. Its NEVER the animals fault. Would you all agree with this? I wonder what they do with there own families. NUFF SAID!

  • Loois History. Used as BAIT in DOG FIGHT 2000 age 3 MONTHS. Broke up DOG FIGHTING RING and kicked there ass's.Rescued in 2000 with major wounds. Surgery in Jan 2004 for extra vertebre. Surgery went wrong and he was PARALYEZED. Compensated for his disability with our help. I divorced in 2005. Took care of him BY MYSELF until March 18th 2011. He did have a cart with tail lights and flashlight and did just fine. Please stop the NEGATIVE comments. Loois would not want that. He loved EVERYONE.

  • Semding much love and respect! Most owners would've put him down. Bless you both. Does he use a cart or does he need one ?

  • That is amazing.

  • wow what a pair...an amazing dog with an amazing owner ^.^

  • So enjoyed your video, and so glad he was able to live all those years because of your devotion. He was truly a great dog and didn't feel sorry for himself. I have found that dogs do not complain about things like humans do. May God bless you and may he rest in peace and run around in heavan.

  • I'm just confused why he didn't get tricked out with one of those little wheel chair type things for dogs.

  • @CyerraMyste me 2 but i think he carrys him for fitness im not sure

  • You are an amazing man! I can understand your love for Loois...I had a cat that lost his sight due to high blood pressure....he was an amazing little guy and it never stopped him from doing most of what a normal cat could do. He was also my buddy and I would have done anything for him. He lived to the ripe old age of 19....God Bless him. Animals really do leave a paw print on your heart! So sorry for your loss, just know in your heart you did all you could and Loois loved you for that.

  • i really can't understand why these 11 people disliked that...makes me even more sad.

  • Kodo's to you ;) your a great owner!!!

  • I thank you ALL for these wonderful comments. My Loois passed away on March 18th 2011 at 115pm with his head in my hands. He had spinal degeneration because of his condition and was in pain. I lost my BEST friend that day. He was one of a kind, strong, loyal, loving and not a mean bone in his body. He is at "Rainbow Bridge" now and can walk. I took care of him by myself for six years and would do it ALL OVER AGAIN. He was NOT JUST A DOG. Again. Thank you so much and God Bless you all.

  • @mrloois1 I bet you, Loois had the best life he could've had, with you. You, sir, inspire me. You're the epitome of all things sacred and good. I hope that the world will have more people like you. A person who loves another creature that much can never be anything bad in my opinion and holds my utmost respect.

  • @mrloois1 i think that you're the best owner of a dog possible. My grna is laying in the hospital now, she's very old and she's probably going to die :'( I hope for you that you can find another great dog like this.

  • @mrloois1 ive never seen a bond stronger with a man and his dog than yours, sorry for your loss mate.

  • @mrloois1 I'm so sorry to hear of Loois passing. You 2 had a special bond. There need to be more animal owners like you in this world.

  • @mrloois1 I´m so sorry. Let me congratulate you for being the best friend ever. It may not mean much but you have my most deeply respect. Unfortunatly in many regions of my country (Portugal), dogs and cats are seen as inferior species and most of the times mistreated. I wish your video could reach all those joyless souls because they just don't know what a BEST FRIEND is! Thank you for being such a good owner for that amazing, beautiful and extraordinary friend. Rest in peace Loois!

  • @BarbarCB To both DUNEENZO and BARBARCB, Thank you both for the kind words. I think I will be with him again one day. Whoever mistreats a defenceless animal is a pathetic excuse even for a coward. I wish it would stop. God Bless you both and take care of your little guys. Craig and Mr Loois

  • @mrloois1 And you, my friend, are not just a man. You are indeed something special. I'm not a religious person but I expect that you will be rewarded some way, some day for your devotion to your friend.

  • @mrloois1

Bless your heart! Our animal companions indeed are not just dogs or cats or birds - they are our brothers and sisters here on Earth. Loois obviously loved you, too, and will certainly be waiting for you at the end of that Bridge. The relationship you and Loois shared is a shining example to all of us of the deep contentment and fulfillment that can be had through loving interaction with our fellow Earthlings. Peace to you in this time of loss and remembrance...

  • This tore me up. Wish you guys many many more years to come.

  • God bless you...you're both awesome!!!!

  • This man is a saint for me. He deservers far more respect than any other so called saint!

  • THIS MAN IS A SAINT!!!

  • Pot bull pride. Best dogs in the world...

  • He had the best life any dog could have asked for.

  • Awwww.... That is so good.

  • You are a most wonderful person. I have a blind dog and I still hear about how I just need to "get rid of him for good". He's happy and healthy now and I would never leave him. Thank you so much for loving this dog after his accident.

  • I'm so, so sorry that you lost Loois, but I'm absolutely positive that he could not have had a better friend/Dad/companion than you. RIP Loois... xx

  • Loois was a beautiful dog, just like our pitbull Bud. thank you for being a wonderful human to him, for saving and loving him. You are my hero.

  • I love you.

  • Amazing, beautiful dog/ story

  • Beautiful.

  • so cute

  • That's beautiful. Truly amazing.

  • What a wonderful owner. Most would have put the dog to sleep. He's a wonderful man, dog owner and you can see how much he loves his best friend and vice versa. Many years of health and happiness together to both of you!

  • This is amazing. You are a wonderful man for doing this. Too many people say "they are just dogs" but they are more than that. I am so sorry for your loss. I put my first puppy down a couple months ago and it definetly put a void in my life. I wish you all the best!

  • Wow, what a beautiful person you are! So sorry for your loss. You were both blessed to have each other and have inspired so many others. Thank you for the gifts you gave to each other and for those you are giving countless others who have watched your story.

  • This is such a heartwarming video! Being a Mom to a special needs canine I can appreciate the love you shared with Lewis. Our dog severed her spine in an accident and became paralyzed back legs. She gets around with the use of a wheelchair or a 'doggy cart'. She is now a happy 4 yr old dog, play, runs, chases her brother and other dogs. The rewards of caring for a special needs dog is priceless! Thank you for sharing your video. Lewis is at peace now over the rainbow bridge running free!

  • God Bless this man and his dog!!

  • Oh how inspiring. I'm so sorry for your loss! You are a true saint. I do know of another dog who needs some one as dedicated as you. She in with a rescue now and they're doing all they can. But I think she'd be good with some one totally devoted to her. I know she is a lot of work for the foster. She is a 8 month old golden, very petite. Please, if you know of anyone or if you would be interested in her, see most of her story at mollymiracle.blogspot.com

  • So refreshing to read about a truly great guy who is so caring rather then the many we read about daily who are so cruel to these innocent creatures. Bless you and I wish I knew you.

  • this is so gorgeous Loois has the most beautiful face ever and he is very lucky to have you as his owner well done you have done amazing job xxx

  • im speechless , what a great owner you are . well done

  • Everyone has a soul... sometimes that soul gets "misplaced"... as yours did.

Yours in his, and his in yours. It's a gift.

    __

You are truly blessed, and are a wonderful man.

  • You are an amazing man. Not many people would do what you do for Loois. He is one very lucky dog !!

  • My favorite anonymous quote is "It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."

You, sir, were blessed enough to be born with a dog's heart!! Thank you!

  • How does anyone even begin to dislike this video? Such a sweet story of a deep friendship.

  • Awww...Love Loois! And his owner/companion is pretty awesome too! <3

  • What a lovely man and an awesome dog:)

  • You a an amazing man, thank-you for sharing your story with us.

  • Sitting here in tears of joy over the Love you've shown for our breed. Sadly we lost 2 earlier this year from Parvo and Hookworm, they were vaccinated. We still have 2 blue's and 1 is the pup of our Mama who died. What a beautiful testimony on how our breed truly is. I am truly sorry for your loss of Loois, I miss my Gabby everyday. She was such a sweetie even the people who were afraid of Pit Bulls fell in Love with her. R.I.P. Loois. Your in Heaven playing and rolling around with our Gabby.

  • I absolutely loved your video. It is nice to know that in this world we still can find people who deserve to be called human beings. Your dog was awesome! I am sorry to read about your loss! I am happy that you have found each other in this crazy world! He was and will always be an inspiration to everybody who knows the true meaning of words such as love, friendship, determination, and respect. We all should learn from animals. They own the wisdom that most of us will never have...all the best!

  • <3 There are very few people on this planet that would take the time and effort to care for such an beautiful creature. It is good to see there are still people willing to do that. <3

  • You have such a wonderful soul. God bless you both!

  • I know your pain having lost a dog to Degenerative Myelopathy. We lived much the same as you for a while. I hope your mind if full of wonderful memories, and I'll see you on the other side, when we meet our best buddies again!

  • You are both wonderful!! Love your doggie and you for not throwing him away like so many would. I totally love my dog the same way, so I get it. I just wish everyone got it!! God Bless.

  • Such unconditional love. God Bless you.

  • Don't they have special wheeled hind quarter seats (not sure what to call it) almost like a doggy wheelchair? that may be a solution for you as well, would give him a little more freedom. Thank you for tell us Loois' story, you are a wonderful person and you two deserve each other :)

  • I had a tear in my eye but this is the perfect antidote for the awful animal cruelty stories we read all the time. Bless you both.

  • You are such an amazing person. This shows how just how much LOVE you had for you friend. I know that my little dog is more than just a pet. He is my best friend, he goes everywhere with me and i would be heartbroken if he were ever in pain like that. But god knows I'd do the same thing you did. I'm so sorry you lost your best friend but at least you know now he's at the Rainbow Bridge waiting for you and that's he's in no more pain. Thank you again you are such an inspiration and a bless

  • Amamzing love between you two, Aw just read hes passed away, Im so sorry ! You were amazing and lewis was a beauty !!

  • It warms my heart to know that there are still good people out there, who truly love. Mr Loomis you are amazing, You give me hope for this world. Love is not giving up when it gets tough, and love isn't limited to people.. Animals need our unconditional love too! If there were more people like with that kind of heart our world wouldn't be the way it is. He was not 'just a dog', he had a spirit, love and feelings. This broke my heart but I'm also happy knowing that he knew he was loved to very en

  • This made me cry. You are such an amazing person, there needs to be more people like you. The 7 people that disliked this are losers.

  • Wonderful testimony to all that is good with human nature. Thank you for sharing. We can all take lessons from you and Loomis.

  • you're my hero!! i respect you, look up.to you!! amazing and yes, dogs are the super best, you are very lucky to have each.other. God bless you and your best friend.

  • Wow - I am not sure anyone else would be able to do this! You are so amazing. I wonder why he can't get one of those harness things where his back end is supported by wheels? Maybe large dogs are too active for that?

Between that and the fact that you have to pick up after him (when he poops, etc). Means that you are a saint in m y book. XOXOXO

  • This made me teary. You really loved your pet. It warms my heart to see that there are still plenty of people out there who don't give up on a family fur friend just because they have a health issue. My condolences on the loss of your precious Loois. You made his life happy and I'm sure he did feel feel like he was different but like he was special.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. I just saw this video posted on facebook. I just had to stop by and say how touched I was. Thank you for sharing your special story :)

  • Oh i am so sorry for your loss~! Looks like you gave him an amazing quality of life though, while he was on this earth to enjoy it. I definitely share the belief that our beloved pets go to the rainbow bridge, and run free with no pain, and know no anger or bad feelings. Thank you for sharing such a snippet of your amazing bond.

  • Made my day watching this video.

Puts your faith back into human nature.

  • God bless you, kind man. I went through the same thing with my dog. I am so sorry for your loss.

  • llore .. es un hermoso video... me movio el corazon!!!

  • I could feel you are a kind and good person. Thank you for sharing this video. May God bless you and all people like you.

  • Well, I AM crying...I have the reverse situation..I was the one who could hardly walk after surgery. I save a stray nearly 10 years ago, who became my miracle dog...I started to walk him, tentatively, and I regained my ability to walk almost normally.

Like you, I would do anything for him, he's the love of my life!

Loois was so brave and SO LUCKY to have you as his dad. You'll meet again some day and play...without the harness!

  • You are a wonderful person and a true example of the kind of friend and responsible caring person we should all aspire to be. I am so sorry to hear of Loois dying. Thank you for sharing your life and letting us all fall in love with him. I admire you and your attitude and especially your ability to love. I will hug my own animals a little tighter tonight. Thank you

  • (sniff) Two Paws! :( What a sweet pup and you are a very Special person, you loved Loois so much. :)

  • So sorry that Loois is gone, but you made the right decision when you stopped his pain. I know their spirits not only go on, but have power. I had a personal experience that I am thankful for because it was absolute proof. So, as sad as I am every time I lose one of the special ones, I take comfort in the memory of that experience and I can go on to keep my promise to help the next four legged in need, in their honor. Loois knows how much he was loved and who can ask for more than that ?

  • Four months ago my 3 year old dog lost her ability to walk on her hind legs due to a herniated disc in her back. She had emergency surgery in the middle of the night. I was in complete shock to me and I was devastated. A lot of people have criticized me for choosing to keep her alive but she's still so happy and I love her more than ever. You and Loois are truly an inspiration to me. Thank you so much for sharing this.

  • As you shed tears of sadness for the loss of Loois, remember these will turn to tears of joy as he RUNS to greet you when you get to the Rainbow Bridge at the end of your journey here on Earth. Thank you for giving Loois the best possible life and for loving him enough to give him the dignified, painless passing our wonderful furbabies deserve.

  • OH my! I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have seen this video many times and love it.

No he was not "just a dog" any responsible, good owner would never say their dog is "just a dog"

My thoughts, prayers and blessings are with you.
