I use paypal with ebay and so far i really like the fact that sellers dont get my card info like some companies do. If ebay didnt have paypal i would probably never shop on ebay in the first place cause im still uneasy about using ebay.
PayPal customer service is nonexistent. You'll never fully appreciate how frustrating it is until you find all your money frozen for 6 months without any good reason. You can't touch it until you allegedly "resolve" the issue (which is impossible. You can't communicate with them at all, they just send you prewritten emails again and again, not personalized, and not even remotely related to what you emailed them). Meanwhile, they can use YOUR money in their investments, basically robbing you.

I found a new home at eBid (amongst several other sites). I bought a lifetime premium account for £50. I pay zero listing fees and 2% comission on my sales. Support is excellent and the site is great - I recommend it highly.
No member with fewer than 10 successful transactions should be allowed any type of claim or the ability to leave feedback at all. As far as we sellers know a buyer may file claims for everything they buy. Not allowing sellers to leave buyer feedback at least among the top rated members is really reckless and abetting crime. Paypal and eBay do NOT earn their fees with current system. Established sellers with success rates over 99% should be better protected and better served.

Paypal ALWAYS refunds the BUYER. If you don't want an item you bought through Paypal just say it is broke/DOA. When the Seller gets it back and it isn't broke Paypal just tells the seller to resell it and still charges the Seller Paypal fees. BUYER gets all there money back.

This is so skewed toward "buyer problems", but the only problems I've had on eBay are with bad buyers. Non payers, slow payers and African scammers. EBAY has run off it's small business customers (eBay's customers are the SELLERS). Our customers are the buyers. By assuming the sellers are guilty until proven innocent, they have allowed scammers to run the show. As a buyer, my trouble has been with PayPal, they suck too.

Ebay changed their feedback rating in 2008, todays feedback rating is meaningless, would you considered positive feedback a feedback that says "Scammer stole my money, filed a charge back and kept product", well ebay considers that to be a positive feedback, there is no such this as a negative feedback for the buyer

Every time I take a glance at something like electronic accessories I can guarantee that 95% of the items are cheap rubbish being masquerades as official products
I got scammed a few years ago by some asshole who sent me some random cd instead of what I paid for. Because I had received "an item" to quote the bitch on the phone at paypal I wasn't entitled to a refund.

Never buy if the price is cheap and is not an auction, never buy if they dont state Genuine Product anywhere, never buy if they are not powerseller, never buy if they have too little feedback, never buy from China / Hong Kong (nothing but minefields) and always make sure to read other peoples feedback. I usually avoid buying electronics on ebay, but have yet to be scammed with electronics and have bought 9 things so far that i remember

We ought to take into account that there are scumbag buyers and sellers out there. I have encountered a few, though not very many. eBay itself is another matter. Anything you've heard about their "customer service" is true. You will get nowhere. They tell you what you want to hear and do nothing. If your problem is too difficult for them, they will cut you off. I have severed all connection with ebay and paypal - never to return. Traffic is down. You no longer get a good price for your shit.

This area - analyzing dysfunctional corporations and fixing their problems BEFORE they go bankrupt - is what I did for 30 years for huge corporations. I am not in charge of eBay or Paypal's recovery so they're on their own.
Its not pretty. I knew some of their senior management personally - even had a few over for the night.

I am from WA state too I am trying to figure out how to sue paypal they have 640 dollars of MY MONEY on the premier account they said they wont release for 180 days. I sent a bunch of documents including my drivers license and SSA. They told me they could not delete the information too. They will always have the information of their systems.

After 3 years ONE CUSTOMER who had received the product filed a bogus complaint with eBay stating they had not rcvd product.

I sent postal tracking to eBay, and sent the customer ANOTHER $400 product-free-with postal tracking on the FREE product, and then busted the customer SELLING the free product I had sent them (on eBay), and sent that evidence to eBay too. Didn't matter. eBay closed my account and PayPal froze over $2,000 in my money I never did get back. They're criminals. Dump them.

The dude that spoke for eBay isn't paying attention to the numbers. At 1:27 the dude says the majority of transactions on eBay are trouble Free. If that is true why does the statistic shows opposite. At 1:49 eBay user growth droped 23%. At 1:54 eBay sales growth dropped from 43% to 19%. At 1:58 eBay's income crashed from 76% to 4%. Comes to show how much eBay is paying attention to their trade practice.

I'm a full-time online seller now trading for nearly 3 years. Long story short, I shut my eBay shop 2 years ago subsequent to a 100% fee increase. I'd now be looking at £50-100 a month for even minimal listings + FVFs + Paypal fees to go back on eBay.
I found a new home at eBid (amongst several other sites). I bought a lifetime premium account for £50. I pay zero listing fees and 2% comission on my sales. Support is excellent and the site is great - I recommend it highly.

No member with fewer than 10 successful transactions should be allowed any type of claim or the ability to leave feedback at all. As far as we sellers know a buyer may file claims for everything they buy. Not allowing sellers to leave buyer feedback at least among the top rated members is really reckless and abetting crime. Paypal and eBay do NOT earn their fees with current system. Established sellers with success rates over 99% should be better protected and better served.

file a despute with your bank against paypal yea I knew paypal says this is a violation OF THEIR USER AGREEMENT. I didn't agree to get screwed. I got my money back from paypal with a force chargeback and paypal screamed and made threat of suing me; told them go ahead.. Have not heard from the since. Now paypal has to go after the crooked seller; BUT paypal holds ALL money from a seller for 21 days if their feedback is under 100; so they lose nothing..

ebay and paypal are the same company. Following the run around with them costs you money. Never leave money in your paypal account-your stupid if you do. I run into way too many scam sellers on ebay and paypla jerks me around so I fixed it. Blocked any withdraws from my paypal bank account - never link your bank account to pay open an account just for paypal use. then when your screwed go to the bank and tell them what happened; they will listen.

Open a small one somewhere and use that for paypal only. I filed the police report and papers at the bank and the bank FORCE A PAYMENT FROM PAYPAL"S OWN ACCOUNT...

@EBAYVICTIM1 @nicktcfcsb eBay and Paypal are probably the biggest life-ruining companies that I know of. I just signed up on Bonanzle and it is AWESOME. Best thing is...it's COMPLETELY free, until you make a sell. The fee for up to $50 is just $1..yes..just a BUCK! That's IT. They will transfer ALL your listings and feedback from eBay...makes it SO easy..they even sync with Craigslist. I strongly suggest for everyone to try it out because it's free...can't lose at ALL.

haven't been able to access my account for months as they do not believe i own it, and for some reason my bank details are 'incorrect' when my details have not changed sicne the day i signed up for that sight. and even if i call them, they won't do anything about it.

Paypal ALWAYS refunds the BUYER. If you don't want an item you bought through Paypal just say it is broke/DOA. When the Seller gets it back and it isn't broke Paypal just tells the seller to resell it and still charges the Seller Paypal fees. BUYER gets all there money back.

I have over 500 ebay/paypal purchases and have only ever had about 4 problems and they have all been sorted out very satisfactoraly by ebay/paypal, just use common sense like you would anywhere with any purchase..

Only using Ebay now where I can pay via moneybookers. Paypal robbed me constantly. Since opening the call centre in India its been a disaster trying to use them in terms of both security and customer service. I found Ebay to be not great, but light years ahead of Paypal. I wonder if they are being pained by the close relationship with paypal.

@sakujapan They also have been accused of leaking customer credit card and sensitive data to organised crime via the call centre in India. Great that they saved their share holders money but I suspect it will cost them more in lost customers and potential legal issues. When anyone handling senstive customer data outsources to a country with such massive economic disparity its going to end in tears.

This is so skewed toward "buyer problems", but the only problems I've had on eBay are with bad buyers. Non payers, slow payers and African scammers. EBAY has run off it's small business customers (eBay's customers are the SELLERS). Our customers are the buyers. By assuming the sellers are guilty until proven innocent, they have allowed scammers to run the show. As a buyer, my trouble has been with PayPal, they suck too.

@biggertom269 If you was looking to make money on eBay, then you was in the wrong place. You have to gamble on eBay and you have to lose money so you can see how much you will get left if your product sells. It's classified the same as gambling and that's what eBay really is. Its like paying someone to do a website for you instead doing it yourself which doesn't cost you anything.
And yes, eBay and PayPal are big scammers.

You're not paying eBay for services, you're paying someone to sell stuffs for you. It's more like paying somebody to do a website for you instead of doing it yourself which doesn't cost you anything. That's why I build my own website, sell anything I want, and make money when people buy from me as part of my own business.

Paypal's site is only there to trick people into giving up your money, unknowingly. Look at how easy it is to pay with Amazon payments, or with Google Payments.... one click and you're done. No hassles.
Paypal just tries to screw you. It's a POOR way to do business.

When People make mistakes they blame the company. Disputes can be done within 45 days from the start of the transaction. People should learn how to read USER AGREEMENT before they engage in any activity on PayPal or Ebay.
