I am a true Beatles fan. I was still in high school when they hit the charts so I "grew up" with their music. BUT, I think this is a great version of the song. Every musician interprets music according to their background and what they feel inside.

@jimih64 The greatest quality of JT is his depth of feeling and humanity. Yo Yo Ma obviously relates to this and loves to work with it. The extraordinary thing is that James's voice is nothing special. So why do my eyes fill with hot tears whenever he starts to sing? It's a mystery, to me.

So, it seems perfectly natural to me that two gifted musicians, who have been constantly searching for those things that unite people, and who have spread love and goodwill through their work would collaborate. i love the cello part and the alteration to 3/4 isnt bad in my opinion but im not diggin the vocals. its just my thought, so dont be all pissy saying that "i just dont get it" cause i like elements of the piece and i've no problem with how much they changed, but i just disagree with how he enunciates certain syllables. again its just my very, very amateur opinion.
