I wish I knew what his velocity was sitting at. I didn't think he was throwing that hard, but it looks like to me that slider is going to be very difficult for lefties to pick up on. He sure could turn out to be a nice piece of the puzzle for the stretch run. Credit Mainieri for taking a chance and seeing just what he has at a significant moment there - definitely and old Skip Bertman trick.
