@sassotheg Most skydiving is done around 0 to 20 thousand feet and is for fun and playing around, but HALO jumps can be as high or higher then 30,000 feet. Usually for just military purposes but some do it for fun, just more expensive
@Sanctity2112- They only need O2 tanks for HAHO (High Altitude, High Opening). Basically that's opening the parachute right when you're out of the plane and sailing 25-50 miles to your target insertion point.
Forget the differences between the armed forces, have you all forgotten we're Americans no matter what part of the armed forces we belong to? We all started at the same place, pitch forks and shovels, some of us were even native to the country, stop bitching about who's best and realize we're all the same.
@RacersMoment It takes about 2800 feet for the parachute to fully and safely deploy while traveling at terminal velocity and most jumps are just under 14 thousand feet but they will deploy their chutes at around 6000 feet for safety reasons. Any jump over 14 thousand requires the use of an oxygen mask by regulations so you can tell that they are jumping under that height in this video because of their lack of a mask.
The ignorance of you wannabes astounds me. Please continue the food fight. When anyone here, actually does this and can comment on the specifics of them being stable within the first 500, doing a 6/5/4 wave off, and nailing a precision jump under a square, then we can have a discussion. until then, you navy and USAF (the former Army Air Corps) go put the cock back in your mouth.
screw the technicalities, to me, anything without a static line is a HALO jump. Im sure if any one of you actually went out a bird at this height, youd claim you did a HALO jump.
Per AFI 11-409, airdrops above 3,000' AGL are considered high altitude. Also, parachutist may operate between 10,000 and 13,000 feet MSL providing time above 13,000' does not exceed 30 minutes.
Now, I don't know the manual/reg that specifies the altitude you need to jump out at for HALO/HAHO operations, just what the AF considers high altitude drops (not just personnel, but cargo as well). If anyone knows the manual which outlines specifically the altitude you need to be at (and it's ok) please post it.
This is certainly not a HALO. Its not even from standard 13.000 feet since the freefall time was really short. If you fall in an arch, that is belly down, it will take about one minute to opening altitude (between 4.000 and 3.000). HALO would mean that you go even higher then 13.000, that's why you need oxygen. No o2 or long freefall here...
my bad...you just implied that you were, with the jodie line at the end...i just wanted to make the point not to talk shit on the AF special ops guys..
Wrong.... the NAVY in general is not the best. The NAVY SEALs are. And by your use of words, "adorned with Navy paraphernalia" it seems as though you do not enjoy the NAVY. I'm ready for my military service. I know of NAVY Aviation. I am perplexed as to see someone who has the ability to be in the NAVY be so forward in their actions to try to discourage a person to their choice of service. Each person is better at certain things. Maybe a person who is best at air service should not be in Navy.
@IgorUSAF um..dude. there are many great Groups inside the Navy was a unit called the Seawolf's who were a Special Operations unit inside the Navy and it was Navy SEAL's bought those guys beer. they were also the most decorated unit in the Vietnam war
@DaMadBlaqDrumma I am ex-army and I would still pick the airforce any day over being a seaman being on a shitty boat for long periods of time would drive me insane, and with the added issues of homosexual rapes and tendencies of many sailors I wouldnt want to spend any time in the navy.
@DaMadBlaqDrumma I believe that no service should be talked bad about everyone helps protect their country just as much as the other one and its a job that only few are willing to do

Hey, hey, hey, I support all military services except ARMY. I have respect for SEALs. But I was wondering by looking at your page. When are you planning on going into the Navy?
@Americanpatriot777 i asked the same thing but then i realized he said that 2 years agot so were probably not gunna get an answer lol. im sure its a stupid reason that doesnt make sence tho..
@ivone1991 Yeah...all the disrespect to the Army really irritates me. If you would acually research in depth every branch of the military, you would realize that the Army is the main fighting force of the military. The Army is the most important branch also...although the others are important too.
@Americanpatriot777 lol you dont gotta tell me. im aware. but people hear 1 thing from some moron who doesnt know what hes talking about and they believe it. like i could probably say the Navy is the main ground force and some idiot would believe it lol
@DaMadBlaqDrumma Without the Air Force the US would not exist. We would have lost all of our wars(Modern) due to air strikes. USAF is vital as well as all the other branches.
@DaMadBlaqDrumma How old are you? 13? That's something a 13 year old would say. ALL Branches respect each other, they may tease, but they respect each other. w/o the Air Force your Navy SEALs probably wouldn't be able to get to where they need to get to without Air Force pilots. Gtfo out of here you twat.
@Turb0Turt13 Best way to respond for that kind twats is complete ignore. As you said, there maybe be some competition and teasing, but there is always respect too. Cheers from Finland, I was in Frontier Jaegars in my service time.
its about 30-35 degrees cold, you cant stabilize yourself half of the time especially if you have a bad exit.
Imagine this at night. 95% of the time, you cant find your team, its cold as hell, and then you have to pray you find an open area to land in...you burn so much energy falling you are starving when u land, then you spend time burrying your parachute in the ground, then you have a long hike to get to the op site..I cant wait to do it.
@TheMadChilla no it is HALO.
HAHO is when they deploy much much higher in the sky, this was a low deployment

wiganerrmc 8 months ago
@khyea91 In typical HALO/HAHO insertions, the troops are dispatched from altitudes between 25,000 feet (7,600 m) and 35,000 feet (11,000 m
a high altitude high opening can be pulled at 30.000ft i think anything over 18.000ft needs bailout oxygen
