Very confusing. The photo evidence and all that has been written indicates that only the body of the pilot remained in the wreckage. The other three were all discovered outside the plane, The Bopper was thrown the furthest from the wreck.
A lot of historically inaccuracies here. They did not take off in a "blinding snowstorm". Everyone but Roger Peterson was ejected. Peterson was an innocent kid, had been up long hours flying a craft with an altimeter that was the reverse to what he had been taught on. Google 'spatial disorientation" and that is what happened. He thought he was climbing, was actually descending. 10 degrees to the right in a shallow descent. Plane hit the ground and that unfortunately was that.

The narrator was incorrect - he mentions at :44 they were on their way to Mankato, Minn. They were actually flying to Fargo, North Dakota which is across the river from Moorhead, Minn, the next concert location. They had actually played in Mankato a few nights before the Clear Lake show.
