Dodge Ram Air Door repair Heater AC HeaterTreater

I have a 2002 dodge ram pickup. When I turn my ac on it comes out cold for a few seconds sometimes on a good day a few minutes but than I hear the blend door shut and it starts blowing out hot air. Does anyone know what I need to replace? Thanks

My uncle has this same truck and air will only blow out of the vents that blow on the face and nowhere else not on feet or defrost is there anyway you could tell me which door is not working right?

Removing the door leaves the external and internal intake ports open. At highway speeds air flows into the external port and directly out of the internal port...like having a window rolled down all the time. The fan doesn't have the power to overcome the air flow.  No door kills AC and heat efficiency.

You can block one or the other port, but it doesn't allow the computer to control the door and "dry" out condensation or maximize AC/heat. Replacing the door with the HeaterTreater kit is best

I have a 04 Dodge Ram 1500, and I have low airflow coming out of my vents on either air conditioning and heat. The blower motor sounds strong and I've researched on the internet and found this is a common problem. I think the recirc door has broke and is blocking the air from coming through. Everyone says remove the glove box and remove the recirc door 4:16. You won't have recirc mode, but I don't use that anyways. If anyone can confirm this information I would appreciate it.

I have a 98 Dodge Ram 1500, I flushed my heater core, replaced the thermostat, and all my hoses are good, but when I turn on the heat it just blows out luke warm air at best, what do you think the problem is? Does my truck have a blend door actuator?

Wow. I also have the cold on the driver's side problem. What a piece of crap this truck is. Apparently the blend door has separate driver and passenger sides. I'm going to have to invesigate to see if the top flap for the driverside has broken off. I hate this vehicle like none I have ever owned before.

Watched the 3 videos completely! Like what I saw ! Think youe video was excellent.

After watching I believe my problem is somewhere else.

I get little or no heat! Yet the engine temp Guage shows it at approximatelt 195 -200 degrees.

Could it be the thermostat?

If so, where is it located?

And, what temp # do you recommend for El Paso, Texas?

@macydarcykyle Me too. It has been doing for 5 years Dodge can not fix it !!! The Differential from side to side has been as high as 42 deg.

I have a 02 dodge Cummins and it only blows thru the defrost?? cant find a leak on fire wall, not getting any vacum to control. any help??

These videos were perfect. It was awesome to bring the laptop out to the truck and watch the videos while getting to actually look at in person.

I got very lucky and only had the recirc door broken.... which in turn made my ac blowers blow very little air. I made the cutout, reached in and grabbed the broken door, and BAM. The AC was blowing full blast.

So again, THANK YOU for these great tutorials.

I took it to the Shop and they wanted to charge me $400.00. Im into this project for 1/2 hr so far, I figure 1 hr to reassemble and Im done. This is Great, Now we have AC for our Trip to BC :-)

Just got the parts this morning, done by noon....This part really works and for anyone thinking about getting it and saving a ton of money!!!!!! Dodge wanted 1400 dollars to do the work...and replace it with shitty parts..that would need replaced again in a year or so....watch the video it really is that easy

Oh man, I've needed to do this for 3 years, So if I have heat to the passenger side but no heat on the drivers side which door would that be? Also what about the air bag?
