For me Jpop is defined as pop songs originated in Japan by Japanese artists or foreign artists who have established themselves in Japan for a long time and is based in Japan . Obviously they would be influenced by their music industry.

Why do you dismiss SNSD's achievments in Japan? They reached #1 on Japan's Oricon is quite an achievment. last time a foreighn femal group has done that was 30 years ago. When was the last time your countryman done anything?
And why are you only talking about the Japanese music industry? Of course a Jpop group will sell more cds in Japan, Is it obvious? Just like Kpop will sell more in South Korea.
What about outside SK or Japan? Kpop sells more.

Outside of Korea doesn't mean Japan only little grasshopper. There is a big world out there. Kpop is more popular than Jpop in China, Thailand, Philippines, etc. And do you hear them singing in their respective languages?
Kpop artist who want to expand outside of Korea make a special effort to crack the Japanese market because its very luclutive.

By the way, SNSD got No.1 Oricon DAILY by with 3,000 cds only (they got No.1 because IN THAT DAY no famous artist release new cds .
