Ok this is for everyone saying this is more humane than before bullshut there is nothing humane about killing a helpless and poor animal thumbs up if you think the same thumbs down if you hate yourself and are inbred
@laypoole123 You obviously hate yourself and you're inbred!!!
humans have been eating meat since the iron and bronze ages!
They ate meat because of survival were in some cases vegetation might have been inadequate in some or most areas!! Plus our closest relatives the chimpanzees eat meat right to this very day! They would seek out the opportunity to hunt down smaller primates to eat.!
Do your research before start to call others inbred!
@laypoole123 You were, if any one hated thumbed down your comment they would be inbred! So yes you were calling those whoever thumbed down your comment inbred! So who's the stupid fuck now?? YOU!
U are a brainless hippie!
Eating meat is natural! Stupid little child can't even reason, you need to be slaughtered!
You seem to like to hear what you want to hear!
I'm not going to waste my time on an internet dweller with no knowledge and brains!
I don't care if it does increase profit, it also increases humane handling of these animals. Dr. Grandin had to use profit motives in order to get her designs looked at. Kudos, Dr. Grandin. You are my hero.
This is important. Temple Grandin, as a woman with autism, understands what stress is. people with autism often hate being touched and stress very easily. Cows that are stressed produce meat that is inedible, called dark cutters. The cows can't see the white coats for the same reason humans have proven to not like white coats, it causes stress, high blood pressure, etc. so yes, they are going to die anyway, but why not install a few simple changes to ease stress, and limit waste?!
This lady reminds me of most of the genius engineering geeks I know. These are the people that ensure that you have systems to produce food to eat, electricity, running water, transportation networks, etc. Basically they are the backbone of civilization.
Bottom line is, if you're going to eat meat, you should know where it comes from. Dr Grandin has revolutionized the slaughter industry single-handedly. Over half of the slaughterhouses in the US have upgraded to using her designs and methodology to make slaughter as humane as possible. By envisioning the world as the animals see it, Dr Grandin has been able to provide a means to decrease animal stress and educate those who handle our food animals on a daily basis as to their needs and feelings.
Do you really believe the industry has made these changes just for the sake of humanity ? It's all about making more profit. Animals that are calm are easier and more predictable to handle, which equals more throughput and greater efficiency.
@NoGufff and what's wrong with that? you are partially correct.. what happens with cows when they are stressed at slaughter is something we butchers call a "dark cutter" the meat is a deep dark purple, and inedible. The entire cow is then useless... killed just to be thrown away... at best made into dog food. This is obviously a good idea.
Looks like American Idol auditions! lol All jokes aside, she's awesome, thanks for all of these innovations!

Animals don't need to be killed for food full stop so this video is pointless. Murder is murder. Why sugar coat it.
