Not the worst Bruce interview I've ever seen, but let's face it -- us *true* Boss fans have forgotten more things about Mr. Springsteen than the likes of John Tesh, Mary Hart, and this "Barbara Howard" ditz knew in the first place...when it comes to really understanding rock n' roll, superficial shows the likes of ET should GO home, not phone home !! :-)
I can't believe it! An Entertainment Tonight story that doesn't talk about drug rehab, flashing one's cooch, promoting a perfume/clothing line or a stint in the local prison. The focus was just on Bruce Springsteen and his thoughts about music and life. What the hell??
@jademm I know..can't stand these shows today. 20,25 years ago E.T. focused on music, movies, an interview with and actor/actress. Now, along with "Extra", that god awful "Insider" show. It's all gossip tabloid 'TMZ' type of mindless crap. The funniest..more like sad story came out waaay back in the late 80s. I remember a woman was literally getting epileptic seizures - Mary Hart's voice was triggering them! Sure, she is and always has been annoying, but that took the cake.
The TMZ-style of entertainment reporting is just one example of society's "dumbing down". It's an insult to intelligence and very cynical to believe that the public isn't interested in substance anymore. Most of the entertainment stories aren't even about the crafting of art, creative inspiration, behind-the-scene glimpses into the industry, etc. Now, it's a diet of humiliating "gotcha!" moments and elaborate product placements (e.g. focus on jewelery designer to the stars).
@jademm The "dumbing down" You nailed it right on the head. From these shows that focus on who wore what designer on a red carpet to "Fast Furious 6" (or whatever number they are on, a "sighting of Justin Bieber with a tattoo," to who got the boot on "Dancing with the HasBeen's" Don't get me started on the TV/reality shows. So fed up with them. ZERO substance, mindless staged drama..and cheap to create. I know some here enjoy it and thats fine..their choice. just not my cup of tea.
This fuck stick is one dumb piece of shit. What would you have done if you weren't a gifted musician??? Was she kidding.?Who said this jackass was gifted? How did someone so stupid and, talentless get discovered?Probably the same agent as Carson Dailey and Jimmy Fallon.
DAMN BRUCE IS TOO SEXY!!!! I think I'm dead! And also the woman who interview him seems attract by Bruce...I don't think she listened to his words... ah ah :)
He was born in 49...So in this video he was 35????? But he seemed so young!
As to actual work, according to Time Magazine, Springsteen labored for a few weeks at age 18 as a gardener. And that was it. By the early '70s, he had left his leafy death trap behind and was busily reinventing himself as a Dylanesque folk singer/songwriter in Greenwich Village.
Hey chibu, I'm thinking Bruce has the right idea ragarding our politics. (Considering BUSH has run the country in the ground and we are in the middle of a war we should not be involved in). Let me guess, you are a right wing whack OHHHHH. LOL
i think it's because he's not one of those types of singers that does all of those press junkets, usually his songs explain everything, so he might feel a little uncomfortable being interviewed
i was born on the 23rd spetember

Bruce's intelligence like his politics needs a lot of help and is nothing to brag home about.
I love his music and singing that's tops!

Would've been a good long distance driver? Could you imagine if Bruce was a trucker? The E Street band would have to ride in the trailer.

I love this. Is it just me or when he laughs, is he laughing at her? Who wouldn't?! She's ridiculous!
PeruvianJew 4 years ago 11
Yes she is rediculous, is it how you'll interview a great musician like Springsteen? She acted like she was interviewing Tokio Hotel.
issamix 4 years ago 2
She's just obviously out of touch. It's actually a little endearing because she's trying to be serious but her voice just makes me laugh!
