The product guide was supposed to be with the cables, and when he opens it the box with the cables, its already open, plus the band on the sync cable was already broken too. Ok, I'm tired of all you iPod touch fans freaking out and calling Zune HD dumb, retarded, and worse compared to the touch. BUT first! I need to correct some of the things the creaot of this video said:

1) Zune HD is skinner than touch (thickness)

2) Screen almost same size, but has OLED

3) Radio is NOT the main selling point. An overall player with good music, video, and a player that works well with windows without hogging resources is.

Shukero- The new 32GB touch is $10 less on Amazon, check. Also, I love how you cleverly pass over a major flaw like the lower resolution of the Zune HD (nice name for something farther from HD than the competitors) by pointing out that it has an OLED screen (which is hardly better, I've seen it :p).

A higher res is a higher res, and a lot of videos (like the all YouTube reviews lol) will be better viewed on the iPod touch because of that.

Your $10 less comment has nothing to do with what I said. I could say that the 32Gb Zune is $289 on newegg with no tax which makes it cheaper than the touch. He's reviewing the 16GB not 32gb which is 20 more bucks for 2x the storage and a better processor & Graphics Processor.

They call it HD bcause it outputs 720p Much MORE high def than your touch. Also 50 pixels does not make the res worse... it makes it true Widescreen... unlike the touch.

As for OLED, it's nice, but really not all that. From the sides, it will still glare off the shiny, polished screen, and the power consumption actually varies- certain color/movement combinations (that you WILL find on devices like these) will consumer more power.

Researchers have proven that the only way to provide certain improve battery life is by limiting the amount of colors, and that would be pretty sad, yeah?

Now onto the FULL HD remark: I don't believe microsoft called their Zune "Zune FULL HD" They called it HD because it is infact HD and as you said before it outputs more than iphone. As for your first flip phone comment, there are no flip phones that output 720p... this is because 720p came out when all of the "HD tv" stuff came out. Stop telling such obviously lies.

The OLED screen is all that since it sports all previous facts and the iPod doesn't. Anything will have glare as well. Not valid.

A lower screen resolution DOES make it worse. Would you say video out was better on the zune if it was 16x9 total pixels too? LOL. Neat ratios are nice, but ultimately the iPod touch can display videos in the same and higher (with zoom) quality than the HD.

I know why it's called the Zune HD, but having a lower resolution is still ironic. It only outputs video 144p higher btw- really not "Much MORE high def". That's like half of the res on my first flip phone, and fyi- 720p is not full HD.

You obviously don't know what 720p is cause otherwise you wouldn't be making a fool out of yourself. The touch comes with a standard resolution which is 480p (basically 4:3). Now the zune is 720p (basically 16:10). Widescreen format is being used for all videos and movies being put out. So as a result videos being viewed on 4:3 screens get skewed and hence forth have worse quality. Also screen size isn't everything. The ability to see the graphics are. This is where the integra comes in. ^_^

YOU obviously don't know what YOU'RE talking about. iPod touch video out = 576p Zune HD video out = 720p Difference in quality = 144p The res on my first flip phone= 320p, which IS over twice 144, double check your math. The primary point here is that the itouch is 3.5" compared to 3.2" on the ZHD. "But they're both 480 pixels wide" you say. That's true, and in order to get all those pixels into a smaller area, they condensed them. ZHD has a smaller screen with a slightly higher screen resolution. In reality, the quality will be better on the Zune HD, but you'll get a slightly larger picture on the itouch. And the fact that its OLED makes it much clearer to. Also, check out the pixels on a CRT tv for comparison.

RESOLUTION is a term independent of pixel size.

In other words, a screen 480 x 320 hundred-mile wide INDIVIDUAL pixels would -still- be a higher resolution than the 3.2" 480x272 on the HD. Even if a screen with the iPod touch's resolution took a lifetime to traverse by foot, it would STILL be a higher resolution than the Zune HD.

No no I understand what you're saying, the 480x320 screen does have more pixels to go around on the 3.5" screen compared to 480x272 pixels on a 3.3" screen.

But its also the fact that all those pixels are being condensed into a smaller area giving you a better "pixel per square inch resolution".

As much as I'm on your side, there's a few errors there. 480x320 is 4:3 Aspect ratio, but 1280x720 is 16:9. And its true that you can zoom in on the itouch to get fullscreen, but chopping it is just silly. If you're even in a half-dark area, you'll notice the leaked light coming from the letterbox, which can sourly take some experience away.

Not sure if you noticed, but a lot of content (like most youtube videos and the commercials ON THE HD when you try and open apps) is still not matched up with a 16:9 ratio, and would therefore playback at a ridiculously low res on the Zune HD (something like 350x272). That's about the same as the first video-capable iPods!

I think more people would brave the perils of cutting off about 1/7 of the video or the backlit black letterbox than have a screen exclusively for scaled-down HD content.

-Speaker (no, the HD doesn't have one :p)

-Bigger screen, higher res (odd that Microsoft markets a worse quality screen as being 'HD', eh?)

-Bluetooth (for wireless speakers, headphones, and communication with other devices without a wi-fi network for multiplayer games/apps)

-More apps/games (and growing every day at a rate considerably higher than that of the Zune HD)

-Support for audio-in (the headphones that come with the new one have a microphone)

The Zune was made to be a media device, and a fine one it is. However, the average consumer wants more from a large touchscreen device than music and video. A more versatile device means more sells. I think that you'll agree Microsoft proved that with Windows ;)

I know I said it elsewhere, BUT-

The iPod touch has a larger screen in both terms of physical dimensions as well as resolution. This means that games and apps will be better by far to use on the touch, and videos can be displayed at a higher resolution.

The ONLY benefit in screen quality of the Zune HD over the touch is that it is OLED, which means that color/contrast will look slightly better (I've seen it, it's nice, but not that nice).

In short, the HD is farther from HD than the touch.

A larger screen does not make games "better". Fact is, its only *.2* inches larger then the ZHD screen. I did state the Rez on the ZHD is slightly better on the ZHD as well.

Note that the itouch has 4:3 screen, if you watch a widescreen video on it you'll end up with letterbox. With the ZHD, there'll be no room wasted. Unless, its a 4:3 aspect ratio video. The second benefit of the ZHD like you said is the OLED screen. Black are *black*, vibrant colors, better viewing angles, crisper image. : )

Actually they did have a camera. One of two things happened.

1. (more likely) there was a hardware error right before release and they were yanked (there is a spot for them if you take ipod apart)If this is so apple will be the last one to admit it.

2. Jobs decided he didn't want it. If this is the case it wont happen.

But did you know iPod touch also has an FM tuner and transmitter. Will probably be activated with later firmware update.

Screen resolution is the width in pixels x the height in pixels. The PPI may be lower or higher, but the overall resolution in pixels the same regardless of physical size. 480x272 is less than 480x320, period.
