He installed it perfectly, but misunderstood the purpose. The devise is designed to make your average shift rmp sound like max rpm in a Gallardo. Basically, when calibrating the device by revving to 3500 rpm, you are telling it to make your car's 3500 rpm sound like a Gallardo's 9000 rpm. That allows you to drive and shift at your normal pace but make your car sound like you are revving it to the red line.

a shop states that the RPM number is actually X3 from the original revs, so you WILL meet the high RPMs numbers.. that's why it's higher than the actual engine.. If you don't have a car that revs to 8000, you'll never hear the high end sounds.. I would prefer the 1:1 ratio, but I guess they fucked it up this time.

TVR's are pure drivers cars with all models in the last decade doing 0-100k in under 4.5s whilst being able to take corners. You don't have them in the states as you're all too spastic to drive a manual.

Big block displacement starts at 400 cubic inches and goes up from there (with some exceptions not worth mentioning). I've had two Olds 455s, one Buick 430 and a Ford 460 which were genuine torque monsters.

IN CITY SETUP:

Start the engine and rev it up to 2500-3000rpm (revolutions per minute) by quickly pressing down the throttle and then release it. You should hear a short beep in the speakers when the engine is slowing down. The beep indicates that SoundRacer has found the alternator signal. After about 2-4 seconds, when the engine is down to the idling rpm, you should hear two beeps indicating that SoundRacer has detected the idling rpm.

HIGHWAY SETUP:

If you want the SoundRacer engine to run on lower rpm you can adjust it by locking the idling to a higher rpm. This is done by not releasing the throttle fully during startup, after the first beep you keep the rpm at approximately 1500-2000 rpm. This is useful if you drive a high rev car or for highway driving.

If you dont set it up for highway use and go higher revs it screams and sounds like a game! got it??

@takjha Thank you takjah! And you are right, the high rpm response is a feature in SoundRacer so that you do not have to rev your standard car to 7000 rpm to enjoy the sound of a high revving racing engine. But the manual tells how to change it. Shift gears early and save fuel and environment :)
