Looks like they were originally going to have you decide between helping Noveria or saving Liara, as she was originally intended to be found on Caleston (renamed Therum). The first one would've been a lot better if they'd had choices like that in the game. ME2 is amazing though, so I can forgive.

I got ME 2, loved it. I never played ME 1, but decided to get it. So I can play ME 1 and import it to ME 2. However, I have yet to encounter a point where I have to abandon a planet and leave it to die? When does this Distress Call make me chose which planet to come and save and leave one to die?
