@fuzzvid This was one of the first times they've played this live wasn't it? hah I love how jammy this is. It would be so cool to be able to see radiohead like this in a small club.
weird time signatures, use of other chords then G, Em, C and D (like G#maj7 and D#) and unusual instruments...a few more reasons why i love radiohead!!
Ahh that would be right. I was trying to use a sample of it in a song that i was working on and I just couldn't get it to fit. Barsteds. Bloody good song though
it's not like they don't mess with the time signature fairly often, Pyramid Song is very weird time signature wise, morning bell is in a weird one too. Think let down has a guitar but that's deliberately not in time iirc
I'm wondering if they woke up a morning thinking 'hey, let's write a 5/4 signature song' or they just wrote this song and then said 'WTF ? it's 5/4 !" ...
yeh mistake, but far out how well did thom go, man i would have stopped singing. He recovered so well he actually started singing something different - thats awesome.
it's a time signature. 5 beats per bar. Each beat is worth a quarter note. THing is pretty much 80% of music is 4/4 so anything outside of it seems unusual and i think u can hear that off beat tone in the song.
then i got the bends, then ok computer, then kid a, then amnesiac. i have never seen them live till now and i feel copmpletely in love with anything to do with this group of musicians.
yeah ha that's what it was like with me, i had ok computer for a bit...then eventually i heard theyre were releasing in rainbows for free pretty much, so i downloaded it (may as well, it was free), I got hooked on that. Listened to ok computer, then I pretty much grabbed all of their other albums and got completely addicted. Big inspiration to me, especially as far as playing intruments. They're my favourited artist now.

Por cierto creo nunca fue la intención de Radiohead de hacer de In Rainbows un disco experimental en esta ocasión más bien es uno más humano e íntimo.

I don't feel phil gets enough praise for the crazy beats etc in radiohead songs, some songs are a mind feild of time signatures. can't wait for friday on later
Take In Rainbows for example, the drum machine is used only at the very beginning of 15 Step and at the end of Videotape. The rest is all Phil's drumming.
