That is exactly right, the key is to drop your hips and back away which will apply more pressure to his neck. As for escapes, if he is the same size or bigger and has equal level jiujitsu it will be very tough to even escape North south let alone the choke. That being said I like to give the trapped arm and roll over the same shoulder almost like an arm bar escape.
nice!, I have a doubt, if my arm from the other side doesn't go under the arm of the other guy is this choke legal in BJJ (with gi) ??

Nice vid! Is this a triangle like choke, with the pressure coming mostly from your upper arm and side of your chest?
