  • I don't see well position of left hand of the attacker.. :(

  • @serdgeedgerunner I'll see if i can get a new version up for you in the next few weeks

  • @powerpunch2 I appreciate that more than you could know but I'm also curious as to why that is the case.

  • Does it matter what arm is on top of the other?

  • thanks for showing this. Any chance you can show us some escapes/counters for the North South choke?

    Thanks.

  • this is also called the 69 position

  • @7Mefisto I think the head positioning is a little different for that one:)

  • very nice vid.. can u explain the position of your hand when your scooping the arm. Are you keeping your palm up or down?

  • @durfys12 when you finish it your thumbs are facing the ceiling and you wrists cross like an x. you can look this one up on you-tube under jeff monson north south choke as well. look at 3:55 in the video. of course if you are referring to the other set up please let me know.

  • That is exactly right, the key is to drop your hips and back away which will apply more pressure to his neck. As for escapes, if he is the same size or bigger and has equal level jiujitsu it will be very tough to even escape North south let alone the choke. That being said I like to give the trapped arm and roll over the same shoulder almost like an arm bar escape.

  • Also, are there any realistic escapes from this position?

  • Nice vid! Is this a triangle like choke, with the pressure coming mostly from your upper arm and side of your chest?
