i have a 2,4ghz/2gb ram/geforce 9600gt and 9400m GPU (macbook pro aluminium)
and wow lags like shit in dalaran (even with the good GPU.). another thing, my boot camp won't work (it will freeze pretty many times, for some seconds and most of the times i have to force shutdown. i tried win xp/vista/7, nothing works, all drivers updated.). im confused your macbook runs so fast even though its the old model and such low speccs running wow+parallels.
Excellent video! Seeing Windows XP running in virtualisation with World of Warcraft with decent frame rates tells me that the native OSX version of World of Warcraft will be even faster. I know now that I should buy a MacBook for my girlfriend.
yeah, Wow is realy heavy (especially with that draw distance, Windows XP doin nothin is sooo heavy, and macOSx with a website open is sooo heavy (a g3 256 mb ram can perfectly run osX)
big whoop, if i can i'll film my 14" Zepto (also 2Ghz intel core2 duo and 2Gb ram) playin Fear and playin a HD movie at same time ok?
got a Geforce 7600Go, and it costs less then a macbook (1380€ in stead of 1580€) has a faster HD (7200rpm)
enjoy your overpriced (soon to becom yellow) white macbook
You can also run WoW natively in OSX.. Either install the OSX version or play WoW in Windows via bootcamp. The last will be the fastest because all your memory can be used for windows and WoW. Also, WinXP has better 3D support so far. Thx for the vid though!
keep in mind that this video is very old and wow has had many graphic updates since then, id doubt you'd still be able to do this on that machine..

If you install WoW in bootcamp xp it runs quite alot faster than in OSX.
edremir 4 years ago
It will run faster in OSX as soon as Mac OSX Snow Leopard comes out.
balduhr 2 years ago
@balduhr nope its still faster in windows. Apple cant keep up when it comes to graphic drivers. I currently run wow on a MBP 15" 2.66GHz i7
