It is that simple. There are also laws for freedom of religion here, meaning everyone can choose their religion and everyone can leave a religion without fear of punishment. Note that those same laws protect muslims who live here as well. It is those laws I'm following and defending.

My critizism is: If the goal was for Vilks to start a discussion about islam - how much has he really succeeded? Swedish culture? Don't you understand that the world and Sweden is going to be more and more multicultural? There is no longer such a thing as "the culture and values of Sweden", though a very large percent of the countrys population is immigrants. In all respect, your opinion is just racist and based on no facts. The oppinion that you have is actually a very big problem in my country of Sweden, but the world won't develop untill people chance and stops being afraid of other cultures.

@Neessta Different cultures are great, multiculturalism is a disaster and always will be. Multiculturalism also is not inevitable, extreme mass immigration of racially and culturally alien people is not in any way desirable or normal.
It's nice to think we can all hold hands and live amongst each other maintaining social cohesiveness. Few or no tensions, conflict and eroding of our unique cultures. However, it is simply a fantasy and you have to be extremely dim to believe it's possible.

Okay you make a good point. I NEVER said i liked multiculturalism and believe it is good that the world develops in this way. Let's say, in my opinion every culture will be weaker and the multicultural society won't be as embossed of one strong culture as it would have been.
I must conclude that you are the one dim. We have to think realistic one things. Should we alienate poor people escaping poverty because we wanna eat turkey at thanksgiving and dance around the xmas tree? NO

Is this resulting to peace living? Its better if one dont start it at all. Let us try to live peacefully, respect other peoples, their cultures, their religions, and their beliefs. Practice tolerances in everyday life.

@jentreyu57 When a religion promotes hate towards sexual minorities, forces little girls into marriage with adult men and tries to limit free speech, it does NOT deserve any respect - it deserves constant criticism until it changes for the better. Whether or not someone is offended by that criticism is meaningless; Islam must be forced to respect free speech and the rights of children and sexual minorities.

@CloserEnd I can't see any relevance of what you posted to Islam. Islam DOES NOT force young girls to marry old men. On the contrary, it prohibits it. As far as "free speech" is concerned, may you wish to define what you mean? If freedom of speech provokes hatred and anger, and was aimed not for intellectual purposes, but rather for attacking a certain group of people, then that is not called a FREEDOM SPEECH, but a HATRED SPEECH.

@Dr5alid89 I see you have serious difficulties understanding what freedom of speech means and contains. I'll try to clarify it to you. Speech does not need to be intellectual to be allowed freedom. Offensive, even insulting messages are tolerated under freedom of speech. However, inciting violence is NOT tolerated under freedom of speech. Saying: "Muhammed was a pedophile pig" falls under freedom of speech, while "I will kill you" does not. Can you see the difference now?

@Dr5alid89 And if indeed Islam prohibits old men from marrying young girls, why are thousands of little girls (as young as 8 or 9) still married to old men in Islamic countries, especially Saudi-Arabia (according to July 2009 report by Human Rights Watch)? Why are muslims not protesting against this, if this is indeed against Islam? Where are the riots, where are the death threats against Saudi imams? They are insulting Islam by willfully ignoring the prohibition you mentioned, aren't they?

@CloserEnd Dear CloserEnd, Freedom could be defined as"Not controlled by obligation or the will of another". hence, if one said"i'll kill you" or "you're a bad person", they all fall under the umbrella of freedom. Mind you, i strongly agree that neither the former nor the latter ought to be used. I respect freedom of speech and actions, but i also respect the responsibility that comes with it.

@Dr5alid89 The laws of my country define freedom of speech differently from how you perceive it. Here making threats is illegal, but insulting a religious figure is perfectly legal. It is that simple. There are also laws for freedom of religion here, meaning everyone can choose their religion and everyone can leave a religion without fear of punishment. Note that those same laws protect muslims who live here as well. It is those laws I'm following and defending.

@CloserEnd As for the "right" tackle the Prophet, I clearly see it's unjustified if you wanted to show the dangers of radical Islam. The people you wish to stop do not resemble or represent the teachings of the Prophet. Hence, when attacking the Prophet, you're actually attacking the innocent Muslims that carry respect to other faiths as well.
I can understand your point of view not more clearly. But please understand, Sir, that I, myself, carry only respect to others around me.
