  • YOU VILL PAINT!

  • He is so amusing, and I absolutely adore his passion for his work. His brushes look really nice too, I couldn't help myself... I just ordered 5. I was surprised how affordable they are, I can't wait to try them! Thanks for uploading the videos guys, my dad used to watch him all the time. Maybe having some of Bill's brushes in front of him might give him enough confidence to actually paint with me.

  • i don't quite understand a big part of what he's saying.

  • this guys good, but I like Bob Ross 100 times better. Both can paint, this guy is funny, and a good sense of humor, but frankly, he's stressful to listen to. Bob Ross is soothing, relaxed, and also has a good sense of humor.

  • Just don't mention The War.

  • Beautiful painting, I will never get tired watching you paint.

  • @RidleyE Alexander was is the 0riginal painter of this tech. I watched him long Before Bob ross came along!

  • @RidleyE

bob ross was bill`s student. in one of the "joy of painting" shows bob gives him the credit.

  • @RidleyE get some facts kid

  • @RidleyE It's you who needs to give credit where credit is due, this guy taught Bob. I do prefer bob though

  • very good,

  • 'allmighty brush" i watched as a 7th grader in '83, very therapeutic

  • I'm an author who loves watching WA paint and he gives me encouragement to write even better within my writtings.

    God bless you WA.

  • How come the oil paints spread soo easily.. It was wonderful watching... really makes u happy.. The paint never spreads so beautifully for me :( some help please..

  • @freedom2116 are you priming the canvas with a bit of liquid white?

  • "Ven I paint my mind goes ayvay!!!"

  • Bob Ross was one of Bill's students.

  • jaja bob destrozo

  • a proper artist. Bob ross technique takes the fu out of it for me, he shits out paintings so fast.

  • His paintings are amazing

  • I like both Bill and Bob, but the way they do shows is very different. Bob Ross plans his paintings first (easy to see Season 2 Episode 4, when he does a greyscale painting and then shows an identical painting done in sepia to show that you can use any color you want), but Bill seems to make it up as he goes along.

  • this was the guy that taught Boss Ross to paint.

  • I was told i sued paint abstract paintings .But no one teaches technique you teach your self form people like bill how will teache technique so know I can paint thank you

  • Bill goes hard in the paint.

  • I really like all of the colors !

  • Love this guy~Happy all the time....we need more of this,in this world:-)

  • @CHROLOLUCIFER1 Nice to see a lovely positive comment such as your's,,,,,we certainly are all guilty of failing to count our blessings from time to time !

  • Everyone needs to remember, In the art community, this is called " the Alexander Wet-on-Wet Technique" Bob Ross sold it to the masses, that's all.

Alexander took more time , created much more detail, and he is easier to learn from.

  • I love to watch him when I'm in a angry frame of mind beacuse watch him and hearing him talk calms me like my dead grandfather would talk to me while doing a crossword puzzle.

  • Bob Ross' long lost brother. Love it. ........I steal art!!

  • The impression that most people have that Ross "betrayed" Alexander by presenting his technique as his own is false. If you watch his early episodes, he gives credit to Alexander from which he learned the technique. Just because you read something on Wikipedia doesn't mean it's true. Do your own research before coming up with incorrect presumptions.

  • How can I forget The Almighty Paintbrush!!! And White Magic!! :D Loved Bill Alexander's shows, they were the BEST!

  • amazing... beautiful...lovely...artistic!!!!

  • he is the best painter...

  • Ross was Bill's protege, and he "betrayed" him, by making his art famous and taking credit for him. However true that is or whatnot,

    I like Ross better.

  • @UraharaItsumo The early seasons of Ross' show give credit to Alexander for developing the technique and mentoring Ross.

  • "If I smile at the canvas, the canvas smiles back."

    This guy is my hero.

  • I wants to have a mighty painting!

  • Oh, Bill was a German from East Prussia, I didn't know that.

That Explains his strange accent (this accent is almost gone in modern Germany).

  • what do you clean your brushes with?

  • Thumbs up if Patton Oswalt sent you.

  • Bill Bill Bill !!

  • Simply Stunning! Its refreshing to observe a true master at work. Thank you Mr. Alexander!

  • welcome.... visit GPABSKY.com website for the ARTIST. ty!

  • amazing and nice job!...=) a lot of thanks wherever hi is

  • i think this guy copy from bob roos style

  • @induchaya As I understand it (and I haven't done any fact-checking so apologies if I'm mistaken), Bob Ross actually learned from Bill Alexander, so it's the other way around.

  • Bless his sweet old heart!

How many Saturday mornings I taped him in the 70's and 80's!

  • what should i put on my canvass before i start painting and for what purpose?

and how do i thinner my paint?

  • I accidentally pressed the soccer ball icon during this World Championship madness and it was absolutely horrendous experience while watching Mr. Alexander at work.

  • can anyone tell me i just started painting do u have to apply Gesso before magic white and then how do i thin my oil paint ??

  • @sashok111 to answer your first question ...no...but it helps if your canvas is already double primed....and to thin ur paints u can either mix them with the magic white or mix them with the paint thinner that u wash the brushes with....

  • amazing how he makes that paint break and a million little tiny details appear of of nowhere!!!

  • I love watching him paint mountains!

  • HE uses magic white a thin white paint.

  • What do you use to 'wet' the canvas? How do you do that?

    ..Your painting is exceptional.

  • What do you use to 'wet' the canvas? How do you do it Bill?....Your painting is exceptional.

  • Almighty painting!

  • Utterly Fantastic as always!

  • Great! Looking forward to the rest of this series!

  • YES More lol

  • I never get tired of watching Bill at work! He was unique and he was the "real deal".

  • @wilsonbickford Hi Wilson this is Barb. Yes He was one of the first artist besides BR that I came across on PBS by accident.

  • Finally, more Bill! Thank you! More please!

  • Awesome. More Bill videos!

  • He´s back!!
