  • NEW Macs can play SOME PC games...MY 2001 Computer can play games some new macs cant...

  • i have a mac i use it out doors

as a weght to stop people taking my bike!

  • AMENS TO THAT!

    MAC OS SUCKS BALLZ!

  • LOL! I LOVE THIS!

  • Well obviously none of you noobs have played CRYSIS

Ha ha ah you don't know what your missing out on

    noobs XD

  • Good god, don't try and convince people to use a PC with Crysis, that was the biggest, overblown piece of shit i've ever played...

  • just because you don't have a graphics card in your machine.

you say it must be shit. same

  • No, that's not what i was getting at at all, i use a pc myself but what i'm saying is that if you're going to try convince someone that PC is better then think of a good game, rathr than a very mediocre Crysis.

  • Ok, since most people who play games have an xbox, or playstation, or even a wii, why are we still whining about this? its stupid. and with the new macs that run on intel processors, you can run windows on it just so you CAN play your games on.

  • I use a wii to play games

  • The gaming theory is a bit outdated. Leopard (the new OS for Mac) now features Bootcamp. Which lets you install Windows onto your Mac. It isn't a virtual machine but the ACTUAL windows platform which runs seamlessly off of the Mac. I'm not going to say that either one sucks; I'll just say that Apple did a great job in offering the best of both worlds on one computer.

  • So...basically, Macs are now PCs, and there's no real difference anymore. Well, hey, now I can do all those things you can only do on a Mac, like...like...someone help me out, here...

    -Tabris

  • So basically what you get is windows on an inferior platform that you can't upgrade.

  • So basically you are saying that a person who wants to play games should get a Windoze computer and a person who wants to be productive should get a Macintosh.

  • you are right!

PC can do everything a mac does and more.

    I don't see an argument.

PC > Mac. It's that simple.

  • Do you own a mac? If not, you wouldn't know. My mac is sooo much better than my pc. I love it! It has never crashed once, and everything is super easy.

  • Agreed! :)

  • big fucking wow, my linux box is SOOO much better than my school's macs. it's never crashed once and it's super powerful.

FYI I've lost my fair share of reports on macs.

  • Right, because shiny computers with less third party support and lacking quality graphics due to crappy video cards and smaller processors are definitely better than PCs, which have been around long enough to get the formula right, with top notch quality, first and third party support and that are NO MORE LIKELY TO GET VIRUSES OR TO CRASH THAN MACs. Look at a PC magazine for god's sake: PCs and Macs rate about equal when it comes to freezing and crashing.

  • These are so funny! I like both, why can't we all just get along?

  • mac is the best

  • No, it hasn't fallen. Can you not read? When a game comes out it sells more copies today than it did years ago. It is just taking longer for games to come out due to the process taking years now to make a game. That combined with MMORPG's where you buy one game and play it for years equals the illusion that the market is falling. There are 10x more gamers today than there was in 1999. That is a VERY low estimate.

  • I mean come on, it doesn't take a genius to understand why it has fallen does it? Does that mean less people play PC games? No, it sure doesn't. MORE people play PC games today than in 1999 when it "peaked". PC games have longevity today. You get bored or you complete a console game and you go buy another (+ you can rent console games, and all that money is counted). PC games, you buy a few a year and you play those for years. It's not rocket science.

  • It doesn't matter, an increase is an increase. Of course I'm guessing once again that's not counting the MMORPG's. That's a major portion of PC gaming. Why not count it?

  • #1) That is old data, I thought you said current?

#2) "MMORPGs and casual game downloads, are omitted from this data." (The #1 best seller of PC games are MMORPGS.)

It's been going up since that chart left off. Yes sells of EVERYTHING fluctuate.

  • PC games alone brought in 1 billion in 2006. The reason it's not close to the 12.5 billion total is due to the fact that the 12.5 billion is counting the consoles and related equipment. The total of all other consoles games combined was 6.5 billion in software sales, with the 1 billion from PC games brought the total to 7.5 billion in software.

  • "the total US gaming market for the year amounted to $12.5 billion, a 19 percent jump over 2005's $10.5 billion" The 20 billion stated earlier is a world figure. As you can see, it's not true that it declined over the past couple years like you mac fanboi's try to state.

  • I've already explained to you that people who play consoles are just as likely to play games on PC's. What makes you think they wouldn't? If they own a computer those same people more than likely play video games on it. I own two consoles and a computer and I play a lot of games on the computer. Certain games I prefer to play on one, while other games I enjoy on the other.

  • You can google for that info in about a million ways. You can't post URL's on youtube or else I would give you several. I could do the whole DOTcomSLASH thing, but seriously, it's all over the web with simple searches.

  • It's went from 11 billion in 04 to 20 billion last year. Once again, like I said earlier, to THIS day makes more money than the movie industry.

  • I use what the word actually means. Sorry if that's confusing. A Gamer is simply a person that plays games. If you want to refer to only computer games and only certain computer games that you consider somehow different, I'm fairy sure there is no term for that. Spending your time playing any game is equivalent to playing any other game.

  • People who do not use computers for gaming and use consoles tend to do so because consoles are cheaper, not because they wouldn't use a computer to play video games. Not sure how that makes computer games a niche.

  • "Game playing is widespread; surveys collated by

organisations such as the Interactive Digital Software Association indicate that up to 60

per cent of people in developed countries routinely play computer or

video games, with an average player age in the mid to late twenties,

and only a narrow majority being male." (This statistic does not include games such as solitare or mindsweeper)

  • "The global computer and video game industry, generating revenue of

over 20 billion US dollars a year, forms a major part of the

entertainment industry. The sales of major games are counted in

millions, meaning that total revenues often match or exceed cinema movie revenues."

  • "The latest Entertainment Software Association survey shows that the average gamer is 29 and spends more time playing games than engaging in traditional forms of entertainment such as watching TV or going to the movies."

  • Um, you're wrong. "The $10 billion video game industry, which generates more revenue than Hollywood..." that quote is from 04, when the gaming industy starting making more money, which is continues to do today. This is talking about console games as well as PC games, but shows you how many people play games. You're the niche in this case.

  • Why? According to who? You? You're now the law accroding to what certain terms mean? I somehow doubt that. If you're talking only about certain types of games now, I can promise you those games you named are outside any definition of "niche".

  • Nobody said "serious gamers", whatever that means. I'm not very serious when I play games, as I play for fun, not meant to be taken serious. If you mean play a lot, again very relative term. What it says it what it is, the vast majority of head of households play games. Out of everyone I know, only one head of household doesn't play games. I'm sorry, it's much bigger than you think. Gaming industry makes more money than the movie industy.

  • Wow you're retarded. Don't click the first link, that is NOT where they held the review. That first link is just about gaming rental sites. That had nothing to do with the survey. Only an idiot would make that connection.

  • A dweeb usually refers to someone who is boring, but anyway, just type in google, 75% of head of households play video games. Want to know where they get that data from? google Entertainment Software Association's Sales, the first link is the PDF. 69% is also another number out there, so somewhere around 70% is probably more accurate.

  • No, that's not how polls work. It was part of a major census anyway. Did not ask gamers. I'm sorry you only know dweebs.

  • You mean Mac users? Because there are about 10x more gamers than Mac users. According to several studies, the majority of heads of households even play video games. The put the figure somewhere around 75%. Video games haven't been considered a niche since the mid 70's. Again, pull head from ass.

  • A miniscule game library that will include all of EA's collection in october of this year. Or were you thinking of the other kind of miniscule?

  • thank you for this because I hate it when people think macs are great for everything.....i had fun taking pics of myself on a mac once then editing them.....for 5 mins then I played doom 3 on a windows.....FUCK YES!!!!

  • from what im finding, gaming is not pointing towards opengl. Although it has been a standard for quite a while, yes good old Half Life on the PC, gaming has always, and will always be primarily DirectX, which i think is A LOT better than opengl. buddy DirectX10 will be fucking sweet

  • OpenGL has been around forever. It's not like it's something new. I used to run Half Life (the first one) in OpenGL because I had issues with it in DirectX. However, that was the only time and it's always only if you can't run it in DX. DirectX has always been better. I seriously doubt that is going to change anytime soon.

  • I believe they are running OS Xv 10.4.7 or .8. Im not entirely sure, we got 30 of them in febuary/march. yea were not that rich, its only a high school in a small city =/

  • works all the time for me =D

  • go to the xfire site, scroll down and look at the top 5 or 10 games/players/games palyed etc, i dont remember exactly.

that is only a fraction of the millions of computer gamers out there, computer gaming IS mainstream, its not just kids that are playing.

    continued...

  • And I never stated that there was a large or small percentage of people within the computing community that pc game because i simply do not know, so that argument cant be applied to me, however, you did state that, and it is obviously untrue.

just look at the millions of players, servers and thousands of games out there, even you said that WOW is a good game, so stop dissing yourself (calling people Nerds in one post).

  • i do admit that i dont know much about the different strains of unix, or unix itself, but im basing this on personal experiences from using both pcs and macs.

  • really? i thought it was directx10, can i get some articles to read? (im serious, really interested)

  • yes, i have also seen lock ups in both XP and macs. i guess its just the question of how the user manages/uses their computer. but, purely (*note: purely) from my experience, the macs at school (they are very new, we just got them this semester) crash a lot more than the pcs, which are about 2 years old.

  • i think you are talking about "end task" not "end process" end task leaves the rows of end task windows on the taskbar. End process is pretty much the same as force quit, it terminates the process immediately.

  • Wow, keytoothed, you're an idiot. OpenGL, are you serious? DirectX10 is on its way out, eh? That's why pretty much EVERY game that is coming out soon is DX10, right? My PC will out perform any Mac on the planet in any game, OpenGL or DX. Period. Along with the tens of thousands of other PC's out there that can do the same thing. Don't even try to compare gaming on a Mac to a PC.

  • Oh, you gaymerz. You just don't get it. You don't know OpenGL from Hair Gel. Direct sux and is on its way out. Macs can run--natively--an OpenGL app (yes, games too) MUCH faster than PCs with MUCH LESS demand on system resources. Because of your shitty OS you need to keep buying better graphix cards. Windows is absolute shit, from its foundation up.

  • Vista supports OpenGL natively. Please pull head from ass. Macs f'n blow. It's a toy compared to a PC put together by a pro.

  • Wait wait wait wait... Mac is a toy - but the only argument most PC fans have is that PC's can play GAMES. So computers are juvenile? "All computers are for little children!" Right? Show me some evidence of your claim. Don't just talk.

  • I love the "well macs dont get viruses" line. I havent had a virus on my pc in 4 years. and im online daily. Anyone who is reasonably intelligent can avoid 99.99% of the viruses etc that windows users get.

And what about macs running windows, you think they will be immune to windows viruses LOL.

And macs DO crash often. the difference is that most of the time with a pc, its no biggie. but with a mac its a realllll pain in the ass.

  • actually the opposite is true, windows crashes often entangle the entire os, whereas mac: you just force quit the prog and restart just the prog. is 4 years a long time to go without viruses? my mac hasnt had 1 ever, in 7 years.nope. macs running shitty windows brings all the problems of shitty windows, too! what is your expetise with running a mac? i've rune windows for 9 years.

  • When did you use Windows last?

  • actually when a windows program crashes it's exactly the same as you described for your mac you pull up the task manager and close the non-responsive program. Quite simple. Also My windows machine hasn't gotten a virus ever. I built it myself 2-3 years ago and as long as you're running a competent anti-virus and firefox is pretty easy to have 0 viruses.

  • apparently you have not used windows enough to where you get a string of the end program boxes and none of them are closing the program. hehe "as long as you're running a competent anti-virus"

now which is better: running this in a slower operating system or NOT NEEDING IT in a faster operating system?

  • maybe you havn't used windows long enough. in task manager, you go to the processes tab and end the process, not the app. its the same thing as "force quit"

  • really? the entire OS? when programs crash on my computer XP has never gone with it, not ONCE. You should get your facts straight, or maybe you dont know how to operate a PC, and need to use a noob box.

  • fater than a ps3? wtf? if you were saying its faster who cars? most pcs are faster then a ps3. console power isnt even in the same ballpark as a high end gaming PC

  • true,true dx10 and crysis kicks ps3s ass

  • check out the 8 core mac pro, fater than ps3, who is better now eh?

  • well a four core pc, with duel video cards and a physics card is almost 200% faster, and fatter! haha

  • haha we can put up to 4 vid cards in a mac

  • haha we can put up to 4 vid cards in a PC for half the price!

  • yeah but you have to run that shitty windows operating system! windows = last resort operating system!!!

  • AHHAHA OWNT, ah man, what a zinger.

    good call mate!

  • why not 8 core?

  • there is an oem pc with 8 cores?

  • so you think that mac created the intel xeon processor and has exclusive rights on the extremely common (in fact almost only) type of motherboard to hold 2 xeon processors (it is a SERVER processor)? With the xeons running with 4 cores each it makes 8 cores, just like your mac. Oh yeah, forgot to mention it costs 2-3 grand less than an equivalent mac. Along with the fact that the mac isn't good for gaming.. or business applications really.

  • you can get a mac with octocore for 4000 dollars. show me an equivalent pc at 2-3 grand less. yes gaming-perhaps 5% of all computer users game so that's a rather elitist group and also macs run xp, natively and play all those games, anyway what business app does mac not run well?

  • and it only took how long to implement what's been around for almost a year?

  • even as a mac user i find this funny!

  • Even as a Mac user, I find this funny. I use a console for most gaming; plus World of Warcraft plays on my Mac so that's that. :)

  • Ooh I totally love this.

  • Thank you, that's exactly how I feel about those ads.

  • stupid

  • It's an OS, these days you can install windows on a Mac and MacOS on a PC... who cares? I've been at a school where the macs crashed all the time. Lost a fair amount of work, but I've also seen PCs crash a bit too. They're pretty even. Check out the videos from TrueNuff for the real truth ;)

  • While I was at school today I was on one of their eCraps and I had to #@$!ing restart it FOUR times...it keep #@!%ing locking up on me. Now I use Linux. Windows can do more than just gaming. It can do everything a Mac can plus more because YOU can customize the hardware for your needs.

    Linux > Windows > BeOS > DOS > Cow Crap > Mac OS X

  • yeah linux has 0 software and windows gets all the viruses, adware, spyware plus is a slower system than the unix based osx of macintosh.unix-the same base of linux.now you tell me which is better and the upgrading issue is not as big as has been told before.you CAN upgrade macs!

  • btw do i have to tell you again howdy pc's dont get viruses dumbasses get viruses if you have a brain at all you can remove a virus even if your retarded enogh to get one saying pcs get viruses so dont get them is like saying dont get food because you have to chew it

  • ok-patchguard for vista was circumvented some time ago and what about adware, malware and spyware(which i get in xp only from coming to youtube)plus clunky windows runs slower than a comparable unix unit.plus don't you need antivirus programs, spyware programs.adware programs-all these programs aren't needed in macosx

  • Oh boy. That kind of spyware would be cookies, so it remembers you that you loged in or when they have counters, it will reconize that you've been to their site before. I know this because I have been playing around with counters and it uses a cookie to keep track who's new to the site and who's came here before. This is the spyware you are talking about. Nothing to be afraid of.

  • STFU!!!You got all your viruses from all that porn you thought would give you an iRection if you downloaded it, but it didn't. Performace depends on hardware not operating system, and if your to stupid to know that than you need to use a Mac.

  • Ah ha ha, typical Mac user. Unlike you guys, if we want to be faster, we go to the electronics store, and upgrade out computers with new hardware. Sure, you look better out of the box, but we have the potential to be much faster.

Besides, what are you going to use that speed for? Games? AH HA HA ha ha... I kill myself.

  • They get a virus or their computer messes up they go out and buy another expensive Mac unlike us smart PC users. Mac users don't know their computers are slow, cause they can't get a decent game for them.

  • worl of warcraft is not a decent game? viruses? in a mac? are you smoking you toenails again? parts are replaceable in a mac tower just like a pc tower, n00b

  • hahaha we can run windows too, so all the games work in a mac hahaha we WISH you would kill yourself, your ignorance is stinkin' up the internet

  • too bad emulators are slower than just having the raw hardware. and nobody wants him to die

  • haha too bad that you know so little, windows now runs natively in the macintosh, just like running it on a pc. please do a little research BEFORE spouting off on things you know nothing about!! oh, and please quit smoking your toenails!!

  • also, mac does indeed run windows natively.... on OS X leopard. And even then you need the now common intel chip inside of your mac. However your 'macintosh' is not running windows in the sense of, "oh i need to use a program so while im in tiger i can swith!" Instead it's more of a, (continued)

  • it runs windows in the current tiger-and will also in the future version of osx-leopard!yup, if you want to run natively, need to reboot but other options exist such as 'parallels' and 'crossover'

  • LMFAO!!! You gave in. The battle is between Mac OS's and Microsoft OS's so when windows is on a Mac then Windows won.

  • nope-because like i said elsewhere on here, it's a last resort, really only needed by the small percentage of computer users that are gamers. hahaha-you lose!

  • Dude, your the only Mac user I like because you know about them instead of just listening to commercials. I'm not completly anti mac, but I would say a PC is a better choice for people.

  • so why is a pc a better choice for 'people'?

  • Because Microsoft is the people ready buisness duh!

  • but does everyone use their computer for business, or are you just singling out one segment of computer use for all people?

  • What? I didn't say anything about the buisness users.

  • ahh i see that but what does this statement mean? Microsoft is the people ready buisness duh!

  • That doesn't mean it was designed for business! duh! Learn how to read english and perhaps study the relationship between a verb and and a noun. Let's break this down for you. Microsoft is - that is a noun followed by a verb. What is microsoft? microsoft is a business. What kind of business? The people ready business. Where does it talk about business users? The answer is nowhere. It talks about microsoft being a business for people. Read an english book.

  • learn to read where i said 'ahh i see that' what does 'people ready business' actually mean? that a macintosh is not ready to use, when you buy it?

  • Why don't you learn to type? Microsoft has commericials that say it's the "people ready business" I don't understand it - I was just being funnt.

  • ahhh okkk insult me about not understanding something that, you. yourself, don't understand!LMFAO you are the endless enigma!!!

  • XFD, my, you are an idiot. You cant run many games on a mac, thats why you need to run windows on a mac to play games. Wow, you fucking owned yourself,

    what an idiot...

  • "if your to stupid to know that..."

HAHAHA! If that's not the pot calling the kettle black!!! ROFL! Perhaps next time you use this statement online, you will remember that you should have typed, "if you're too stupid to know that..."

  • are you joking me? my laptop fucking owns the iMacs at school. every 10 minutes they are either locking up or crashing. and what are the specs?

macs: 2.16GHZ intel coreduo, 1gb ram

my laptop: 1.6 ghz amd turion 64 dual core, 1gb ram

my xp pro laptop has never crashed once, and i do very demanding tasks on it. The macs cant even start "iphoto" (useless app) without crashing at least once, its fucking pathetic.

  • Punctuation is your friend.

  • "PCs crash way more often. They suck. I think its funny how Windows fanboys only mention gaming for their main discussion XD"

Umm...that was retarded...I've used Windows for years (until the past year) and it NEVER crashed on me not once.

  • I managed a computer department with an even mix of 100s of Macs and PCs. The PCs, generally were garbage; we had a staff of 5 people constantly fixing and the PCs. The Macs were generally stable and required little maintenance. Bottom line, the PCs probably cost us tenfold to maintain. Plus, the Macs lasted about 2x. I'd use a Mac running OSX versus a PC anyday. BTW, yes PCs do constantly crash much more than any Mac.

  • both of them have their problems. Why do pc fanboys and mac fanboys have to fight about this? They are both fucking computers. Who gives a shit? If you can go online, check your e-mail, and do basic computer stuff, then who cares. Seriously guys, grow up.

  • Bravo. Wonderful.

  • and mid-age nerds, and old nerds... and young nerds. And so is YouTube. Welcome home tenis "luv"er

  • another problem i have with macs is how they sell the concept of dual core processors and basing the preformance upgrades (2.ox faster, 4.0x faster) on benchmarks obsolete to the average computer user.So all in all, macs are good computers but they lack in certain points. If you buy a mac you will only see yourself really using iLife and then feeling bad about how you really cant use pc programs(sure there is "Boot Camp", but try to run Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on a mac!)

  • dual core processor is the heart of the best PC COMPUTER!quad core just around the corner.there is nothing that a pc can do-right now-that a mac cannot, with the proper hardware,of course.but that's true for either side

  • and if you want to buy in a budget, you can select the macbook but then you give up the 128mb GPU for a crappy outdated shared 6mb of video memory. another thing is that the iMac is completely useless, because is has almost the same specs as their laptops, especially their CPU "the intel core duo" which is actually a laptop processor! thats why their fastest iMac is 2.0 GHz.

  • macs dont crash. they "lock up" :). PCs ROCK!!!!

But anyways, in my opion, MACS DO NOT SUCK my only problem with macs is the fact that they are not upgradable and are expensive, mostly due to the fact that they give your more features than you really need. for example, the MacBook pro has an "ambient light sensor" that turns on a backlght on your keyboard if it gets too dark. but who realy needs that if the laptop's screen is bright enough to let you see the keys?!

  • um... windows don't crash. true, programs do freeze sometime when you overload them with like 20 intensive programs open but you can always get out of the program. with macs the power plug is your only option when it crashes. and whats with the damn power button that you have to hold down forever, w t f, it's also hiding in a corner where you can't reach it.. w t f.

  • PCs only crash if you do stupid stuff. The only time this computer has crashed is when I ran Ad-Aware and Half Life 2 while downloading a torrent. That was stupid. Macs, however, have no logic to it. My teachers at school will be running powerpoint on the new m5s, and they randomly (and frequently) crash without reason.

  • well Zegidroph, people do stupid stuff...anyways, NOT EVERYONE GAMES... GAMING IS JUST FOR TEENAGE NERDS!!!!!!

  • the average age of a person who games is 34 yrs old. and nerds? gaming is a huge industry, its really has become mainstream, gaming is now just like watching a movie, so watch who you are calling nerds, you may be calling your best friend (a jock, who plays Doom 3) a nerd

  • Powerpoint is the reason it crashes. There has never been a word for Microsoft Office Suite for the mac that hasn't been bug-ridden.

  • PCs crash way more often. They suck. I think its funny how Windows fanboys only mention gaming for their main discussion XD

  • Weird, my PC must be broken; in the 2 years I've owned it, it's never crashed.

And crashing is the only problem with PCs, so you use macs? You'd sacrifice an extra $1000, 95% of software, and easy upgradability for not crashing every once and awhile?

  • i hate the new apple commercials. the bottom line is, that macs crash just as often, if not more, than pcs. sure macs are good at video editing, but what else? the only time that the windows system becomes unstable and crashes is if some jackass is downloading 50 porn videos at a time, or opens some email from someone hes never heard of. macs suck, pcs are better

  • Not really. I used to support the PC, but only because I was stupid. The mac is clean (interface and of viruses), hardly ever crashes, is FAST, and has tons of useful generic software (PC of which has none). Heh, I'd like to see windows movie maker support HDV and not crash on every computer.

  • nice totally nice, i respect that big time

  • Digg this for me:

    http://digg.com/apple/Remix_of_Apple_Mac_Vs._PC_Ads

  • Except that a Macbook Pro running bootcamp is no different than any other PC laptop. They'll need market share of probably 25%+ before developers start to bother in any serious way, and that will be a really tough number for them to attain, even within 10 years.

  • not with the looming failure of vista and dell is losing ground:http://www*collegiatetimes*com/news/1/ARTICLE/7919/2006-11-02*html

  • While this is a funny parody, it is a bit misleading. There is nothing that technically stops a Mac from being a good gaming platform. A Macbook Pro running XP/bootcamp is sufficent to run something as intensive as Everquest 2, etc. If Mac manages to gain a larger marketshare over the next few years, the gaming developers will follow.

  • News for you.... more people is using mac BUT the marketshare is declining since there are EVEN MORE people buying Windows/Linux computers...right now Linux has more market share. But there are good news since the iPod is so great, maybe there are going to be some cool games for the iPod in the next 5 years...

  • The BIG hurdle that is keeping game developers in line is that the DirectX API is closed and Microsoft only. Furthermore, OpenGL is aging and needs to be updated.

Removing that barrier and opening up the API would allow games to easily move between any platform.

As was stated below and I mentioned in my orignal post, bootcamp solves alot of these problems albeit it still ties you to the microsoft tax.

  • You are also missing one point in the parody. Although it is once again directed towards gaming on a Mac, but it is also directed towards the snobbish attitude that all of the Get-A-Mac ads have. Apple really wants people to buy their computers, and I understand that, but don't put down and insult the ones (the PC users) that you want to switch. These commercials are frequent and are played a lot on various channels, and seeing them only shows me how pushy and snobby Apple can reallly get.

  • Not really, because they attack Mac's inability to play games while other sites, for example, http://www.bestweekever.tv/2006/07/07/bwe-mac-ads/ , play on the overall pompousness of the Mac character. Furthermore, the orignal ads although snobby really go after the shortcomings of Microsoft more than anything else rather than the PC hardware.

  • They more in less do attack gaming on a Mac, and I am not putting down the idea. It is just that when the Mac character says, "My game library is miniscule, so I make up for it with a condescending attitude and pretend it doesn't matter", it is pointing out to the general attitude of the commercials. It is small, you could say that, but it does point out something. People won't catch it cause they will be more centered around the gaming idea, but you can't say that that idea isn't present.

  • I also understand that it is going after Microsoft and the Windows OS, but some of the comments used can still be rather insulting (especially to those who are dedicated) to some folks because some the information used in these commercials (like the real reason behind all of those viruses) is somewhat biased, but, as my friend says, that is Apple's marketing strategy, they have the right to do whatever they want to. Oh well, there is nothing I can do about it.

  • yeah quit telling the truth about the limits of windows and the strengths of the mac over it and tell us how rosy vista is gonna be-LMFAO
