@MapleLeafistan i know exactly what he did for the organization...i live in toronto!!!!! he is arguably the best center to wear the blue and white. With that being said, can you tell me the last time he came to toronto other than the 29th? No you cannot. He is the REASON the leafs have failed to make the playoffs for the last 3 years..Oh and as for his linemates, to name a few: Mogilny, Roberts, Tucker, Perreault, hoglund. Don't discredit those players

@britamarshall you guys just don't get it....someone as high as sundin HAS to make appearances!! he's not just any player...he is and was the face of this franchise! he showed up at more vancouver games after his retirement then leaf games...does that not seem strange to anyone? lol Don't throw the family card in this..his family has nothing to do with it and coming to some leaf games and supporting them IS his responsibility. @gameplayaah He doesn't have to do anything. If I was him I would be done with the leafs after how they dealt with him. He never said one bad thing about the leafs. And it might be nice to see him, but he doesn't have to come. How do you know family has nothing to do with it? Maybe after years of barely being able to see his family and friends he wants to be able to see them for a longer period of time. Maybe he has a sick grandma, we don't know. He isn't the reason unless YOU tell me otherwise.

@gameplayaah he had a no trade clause and they still tried to trade him, so he refused to go. what kind of organization trades a player who has been there best player for years and played with them for his whole career? the next year I guess he just decided that if they wanted him gone so bad, he would leave on his own terms. and still not seeing how that "screwed" them.

They wanted him to go to a playoff team to have a chance at a stanley cup, as he was coming close to retirement. The leafs wanted him to stay, but at the same time felt it was fair to give him the oppurtunity to play for a contender. The ball was in his park. Shall I go on? Because his decision triggered Kaberle's decision as well.

@britamarshall No they didn't want to get rid of him. Sundin was their most productive player every year! If Sundin had chosen to stay, the leafs would have accepted it and moved on. But not only did he not come to a decision, he wasn't playing which led to the team losing more games without him! It was around this time, that the leafs were gonna trade Kaberle. Kaby was gna waive his no-trade if Sundin left, and do you know what the leafs were gna get for kaby?? Jeff Carter and a 1st rounder
