my lighter is like yours but it has a rope where the flam is . so i open the first screw and the spring came out and i put in the flint and it wont work. then i open the top half and right under the wheel is a bunch of crud. i cleaned out most of it. is that where the flint should go.
ive tryed puting a zippo wick in it like tons of times but its simply too thick. you can order wicks for "automatic lighters" on ebay i think but i dont have the money to mess with it much
@iPooMedia Okay just remove the screw on the top next to the wheel, remove the wheel then you will have the exposed flint hole. If you see its clogged just take a hammer and nail to it and chip at the grey old flint till it breaks away. Hope that helps
there are two stupid things u did... one lighting a lighter next to fuel can and two you can buy those flints from a store. Usually zippo brand flints work best.
i have the same exact one they were made in 1995 and are made in china or at least mine was there cool but come empty so i would recomend zippo lighter fluid and cutlerey lover has a zippo video for refilling them but yours if you goot it with the origional white box it has instructions and yes it needs a wick
@awesomesharaf you have to take the screw out that holds the file in. its tinny you are going to need a very small screwdriver like a jewelers screwdriver. and then be careful because the flint is spring loaded it will fly out after you pop the file wheel out.

Those were all over the place 50 years ago cheap.
BTW your wick isn't pulled up far enough, and you
can see why when they came out with Bic throw
away lighters, the old style lighters were either
tossed out or put away in a drawer somewhere.
They were ALWAYS a pain in the *ss!
Unemployment is hell, ain't it?
The wick was a piece of cotton string. They
have extra so you can pull it up from topside
with tweezers or small needle nose pliers.
