  • alot better than iShowU HD = )

  • where does it save

  • @pspking403 The default place for it to save is your Movies folder under your username.

  • I dont have the file screen recording i only have audio, movie recording ,new movie

how can i get the file?? please reply

  • @SUNSET7900 It still should be in the menu bar when you open QuickTimeX

  • PLEASE RESPOND HOW DO I MAKE IT ALSO RECORD SOUND??!?!?!?!?

  • @AfterMath428 When you get the little window with the record button, to the right there is a small drop down menu, if you click that, you can choose the audio input when screen recording :)

  • Does this work good when recording for example CoD 4 on mac?

  • @hermiethehero Yes, though I guess it would be pretty intensive on the processor, so make sure your Mac can handle both applications running at once.

  • does it record sound?

  • @itzBigMouth Yes, when you get the little window with the record button, to the right there is a small drop down menu, if you click that, you can choose the audio input when screen recording :)

  • Thanks. That was very simple and very useful. It does the job. I can make a simple slide show of my photographs in Preview, capture it in Quicktime and throw it on Facebook.

  • @barrypbeckett No Problem :)

  • FINALLY!!! I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW YOU COULD CAPTURE THE SCREEN WITH QUICKTIME!!! I HAD IT ALL ALONG!!!!

  • can i fix were i wanna record?someone please answer!!!!!NICE VID!!!

  • this is realy nice man but i carnt find the files to edit plz message back

  • @liamramsy Ok. What you want to do is when you can see the small grey box with the recording icon, there should be a little arrow in the bottom right corner. If you click this and look at the bottom of the displayed list, you can see where they are being saved to (default folder: Movies) or change it to a folder you specify. Hope this helped.

  • My Mac is a version 10.5.8, and my QuickTime doesn't have this option. Help?

  • @icantfindaacc I'm afraid you will either have to upgrade or get Lion, just came out yesterday.

  • OMFG THANK YOU SO MUCH I'VE BEEN SEARCHING OVER A MONTH FOR THIS.

(Capture me sucks and so does copernicus... And to use jing you need to have an acc)

BTW: Is there a way to disable that are you sure you want to record screen?

  • @kasakawakysubulukish No problem mate ... You came to the right place :) I have had a look into the Services Preferences in Quicktime X and cant find any relevant options, but if the box is getting in the way of recording or makes it hard to start-off your video recording, you can always use the timer/countdown option in this menu. That way, you can be ready when you want the screen to start recording.

  • whats your mouse? when you click its blue its cool and also is their voice recording while screen recording PLZ MESSAGE ME!!

  • @mento6 The mouse I use with my Macbook is a Logitech V470 Wireless Bluetooth Laser Laptop Mouse. However this has nothing to do with the blue clicks you can see on the screen. These are produced by the screen capture software that I am using (see below).

The answer to your second question is yes you can. I use Screenium to capture my video, and you can set the audio capture to your internal or external microphone if you have one and this will layer what you say over the video.

  • @NuclearSoftware u are the bomb and THANKS FOR NO GAY MUSIC

  • @mento6 haha thanks mate :D

  • Thank you thank you thank you! Just got my first MacBook...and one of the things I really wanted to do to promote my website was make screen capture videos of how I edit photos for web posting. Couldn't figure it out til this and it's SO easy! Thanks!

  • @cgrimesphoto No problem.. hope the website goes well .. just ask if you need any help :D

  • @NuclearSoftware Thank you! :-)

  • Will it work on Tiger on an iBook G4? (I dont have money for a new computer)

  • @jamesoleruster I guess so if you update Quicktime on your computer.. providing your mac is powerful enough to process the video without freezing/lagging :D

  • @NuclearSoftware Well, it doesn't lag alot. It only has 512 MB RAM. Witch version do you use, and does it run on PPC with Tiger?

  • @jamesoleruster im not sure the version of quicktime you are running supports this recording option. I do believe that it is a new feature in Quicktime X for Mac OSX. but having said that you can just try the steps in this video and see if the option is there. Otherwise you will need to update your software or alternatively by a new computer, it depends on how much you really need the feature.

  • @jamesoleruster if you have os 10.6, on 10.4 it doesn't work. because quicktime x comes with os 10.6 !

  • thanks a million!!!

why the hell can all the other screen recorders charge!

  • lol whats with all the Australians commenting on this video mate ?

  • OMG cheers mate your a life saver

  • @cheesemonkeypie4 no Problem :)
