  • A very dull looking Arapima, they normally have a lot more red in the fins

  • what nickelback song is that ?

  • Beautiful fish!! Glad they will be in a good home. I can't wait to own a arapaima its my dream. (Once I finish my 10,000 gallon pond

  • Wat is the song i loved the song :} But I like the idea realeasing those fish

  • @FishingNComedy song: nickelback-if everyone cared

  • hey i live in nichada and its awsome ask mee questions about nichada

  • how deep is the lake???

  • i dont know acctally but it does not look that deep but if u go farther it may get more deep

  • that lake is really deep 97 feet at the deep part!!

  • what kind of arowana have you released? i also live in thailand and just bought a tiny silver arowana from chatuchak market. good job with releasing fishes in the lake(pond).

  • sorry if this sounds stupid.

but why are you guys releasing arowana's and arapaima's in thailand..?

just thought it was kinda weird

  • good question

we are stocking a lake in this video so I help this answers your question

    kiwi

  • @whoisthisvic Thailand is smart. They love Pacu, Arapaima, Mekong Catfish, and all are exotic species. In fact, the King likes Mekong so much it is illegal to kill them. Many people go there to fish for these species since they are almost extinct in their native habitat.

  • hey mate,so do you work there?got any jobs going?im going to live there soon but teaching is looking like the only option for work at the moment, cheers

  • is that a snakehead?

  • hey, glad to see some conservation effort great video, keep up the great work!

  • mmm delicious

  • Beautiful fish! I enjoy seeing that people treat them with respect and ensure that they survive. What kind of arowana was that?

  • Hey. I am living in the complex and a keen fisherman. Like to have a beer some time?

  • drop me an email and would be glad to have a beer

  • that second one was a beast

  • Kiwi Fishign Bangkok is one of the leading companies in Thailand for fishing, no other company dive fish like we do!

Kiwi is the only guide that travels with fins and a wet suit, this is done for conservation reasons.

Kiwi is classed as the top western diver on fresh water species in Thailand for fish recovery.

he has also dived with sharks without a cage, Giant Siamese Carp, Redtail Catfish, Fresh water Sting Rays and many more.

    hope you enjoy his videos

  • ...??? what the hell is that guy trying to do ..? can someone tell him thats an Arapaima , not a dolphin .....

(not the best way of resuscitating a fish i would say )hope u dont mind my comment mate , but that was not swimmimg with the fishes , it was more like the fish just wanted to get the hell outta there.. :)

  • interesting post

1 the fish did not need resuscitating! I can assure you this one was only out the water for about 20 sec as we had just taken it from the holding tank

2 Arapaima are very hard to hold!!!! you cant hold a arapaima with one had if he doesnt want to be held!!!!

3 I was tickling the fish, this calms the fish down and infact puts them to sleep hence I am only using one hand to hold it!

4 I have been swiming with fish for some time now, including Giant Mekong Catfish, Arapaima

  • its soo cool

    u rock guys

  • I have 3 of these arapaimas at home. I had one for dinner once after it jumped out and died. All I can say is, it doesnt taste tht good, but the rest of the fishes thought otherwise.

  • my fav fish r arowana, arapamia, dorado and gar.

  • cool. I saw an arowana in a tank at a Japanese restaurant.. they have these amazing whiskers, and their gills, you can see the inside when they turn around. it's like a throat.

  • ok 3 months on from my last answer and I am happy to update and say that we still have arowana swimming around and a good number of them to!

they have been such a success that we have just purchased a further 300

  • i think if the arapaima catches the arowana..its meal for him..thats nature

  • hey that is a good question!!!

that has been one of our worries for sure as that is only a baby Harry (arapaima) we have then up to (maybe over) 150kg so far it seems that they dont eat the arowana.

but only time will tell, with the amount of bait fish that we have so far the arapaima seem to be sticking to them.

  • wont that arapaima eat the arowana

  • hey its mark who runs the kiwi fishing thing in nichada. lol.

  • yup thats me! at nichada at that!

doing what I love best, swimming with fish, to tell the truth it is the reason I have a fishing company.

there are not many people in the world that have been swimming with the species I have, Giant Mekong Catfish, Arapaima, Alagator Gar, Giant Simese Carp, Fresh water Stingrays, Redtail catfish, Lepard Sharks and many many more.

  • hmmm with the price of the Arapaima that is going to be one expensive meal!! but I suppose I could arrange it if you are willing to pay about $1,000 USD a plate :-)

  • Can i have that big fish on my table with a nice salad and a red wine!! I am hungry alreday.....;>

  • sorry about the delay replying, ok yes a silver arowana, and yes I love fish! fishing is my way of swimming with some amazing species. as for the friendly arapaima well we have a 50kg one that will come up and eat out of your hand!

no other lake has such a stunning fish that you can interact with like that.

  • arapaimas are friendlier than angry arowanas lol

  • you love fishes =)

  • what kind of arowana was that? a silver

  • I go to Thailand fishing every year and would love to fish for arowana on the fly

  • sounds good to me we are looking for people to try fly fishing here at Fishermans Paradise just to "test the waters".

I have a feeling that the fly fishing could be stunning here, with Arowana, some small Arapaima, Nile Perch and of course the Barramundi just to name a few, drop me a line and we will see what we can do.

  • well that is a interesting question!

well I have to ask a question in reply.

how is taking fish from a small tank and setting them free in a large lake torturing fish?

this video is about setting fish free!!!!

listen to the words and maybe you will get the idea of the video.

    from tank to lake!!

  • why did they went through all of those trouble

    just torturing the fish

  • fishing Arapaima and Arowana is about to get a Lot Better!!!

  • here is a story of from the fish, think of the words to the song as the words from the fish, taken from a tank and set free in a big lake.

hope you enjoy, as I had a great time making this one!
