  • I love Sheryl Crowe's voice as much as I hate the sight of of Carson Daly's ugly overly tanned emotionless face.

  • @Leftysfive93 Its her INTERPRETATION

  • @Jordanmillerdotorg I like her version, dumbass. Read between the lines.

  • Her voice is AMAZING. LOVE this version!! :)

  • The motherfucker stole this from the greatest of all time Cat Stevens.... She doesnt even fucken sing it right! Bitch, you don't take classics and make it your own by making it sound like cheap shit! :(

  • @TUNExXxKING : In YOUR (NOT so humble) opinion. There are LOTS of us out here who love Sheryl, and think her version is great too. It's a great, classic song and other artists (luckily) keep covering it so that it stays new and fresh for all generations to hear. If nobody had covered it since Cat, it would have been long forgotten.

  • @TUNExXxKING Settle Petal! Calm down and go to another channel you DO like then!

  • I getting tired of people complaining.

  • I never heard the original version but I LOVE HER VOICE!!!!!!!!

  • I love this version by Sheryl Crow but a bow to the man who wrote and tuned this number and sand it in his folk style - Yousef Islam nee Cat Stevens

  • She has such a beautiful voice. I love her so much. The first time i saw this i cried to me it is a nice peaceful song. Some people think it is a bad song. Well think what you want jerks. If you ike it i like you.

  • Hi Guys, it is a great song indeed performed by Sheryl. But the band is also great, especially the funny drummer. Does anybody know them by name? Thanks a lot.

  • @1967budapest

    It's Shawn Pelton

  • WHERE THE FVCK IS NATTLEFROST.

  • amazing how a song can touch the soul..

this song gives me chills..the words r ingenious :-)

  • whatever....she should finally admit that this is cat stevens song

  • First performed by Cat Stevens in - Get This! 1968. Find it on YouTube. Breathtaking.

  • This is a Cat Stevens song! If the bubble head who intro'd made a mistake it's up to ANY cover artist to give due credit.

  • yes it is so, the first love is the deepest.

  • STUPID SHE SAID AT THE BEGINNING "PERFORMING HER SONG", ITS NOT HER SONG ITS CAT STEVENS' SONG, AND THE ORIGINAL VERSION IS WAY MORE...POETIC

  • Too bad it's missing the most important line of the whole song (in the chorus)...

Wonder why she left it out...

  • Amazing song, it's amazing how healing music is...

  • I would love to see her and Rod do a duet of this. That would be amazing.

  • Bass and vocals, sweet

  • 31 people thought this was a video about crows..!

  • the only best version is Sheryl Crow's Version because she is the best one 2 sing it, and she is the best looking, plus she got a music video for it.

  • danke sheryl, nicht nur der song ist super,du bist es auch.

  • hi babe ! the first cut is the deepest, baby i know...luhny

  • It's not "her song" bimbo (and it's not Rod Stewart's either), it's Cat Stevens' song

  • Nice rendition of a Rod Stewart classic.

  • @WorldPeaceBy2012 there is ALWAYS a reason for hostility!!!!!!!!!

  • where was this at?

  • @WorldPeaceBy2012 If She sings it its Hers (version) get a life or just enjoy the one you have to put up with! hazor777 said it all before. It is a 'cn great song, enjoy.

  • @WorldPeaceBy2012 If She sings it its Hers (version) get a life or just enjoy the one you have to put up with! hazor777 said it all before.

  • she looks better with age

  • Great song... love this version much more than the actual video!!!

  • Not always, it depends on the knife. Anyway, minute 2:50, beautiful smile!!!!!

  • It's not "her song".

  • everyone knows cat steven's version, this version and rod stewarts... but nobody knows norma frasers version :) kinda more upbeat and reggeafied :D

  • THE FIRST CUT Is THE DEEPEST!

  • It might not be top-notch at every point, but it sure brings the message across!

  • Sheryl Crow makes me want to try again. Eric Clapton is also interesting.

    Eric is actually amazing.

  • @cecil280 what does dates mean?

  • This is a good rendition to a great song

  • i agree Sheryl;s version is the best!

  • nice cover, but "her song"??

  • A beautiful rendition of Cat Stevens song and beautiful woman. Even though I differ with his conversion to the Muslim faith, I hope Sheryl Crow gives him the credit for his music, (no offense, but he was Christian then)

  • @GunnerDeVo how can you disagree with someone else's faith choice?

  • @GunnerDeVo He used to be a CAT, now he is nothing but a sheep (a domesticated ruminant mammal kept in flocks for its wool or meat, and is proverbial for its tendency to follow others in the flock).

  • @GunnerDeVo Why must you persist in bringing controversy and religious debate into this. Why can you not just let it go and enjoy their musical talent?

  • @farhannius Because he is the one who uses his popularity to mix music whith religion, or religion with music.

  • My dad says in five years when ur sixteen to look this song up I think I cheated cause I already did and I love it

  • sheryl crow has the most powerful voice on any female singer out there. she sounds so amazing live. cause its real

  • great singer. great song. the greatest city!

  • this version, that version.......... who really gives a fuck

  • @hazor777

Spot on. Sheryl has done justice to a brilliant piece of music though.

  • @hazor777 thats it!

  • I don't recall ever hearing a 'bad' version of this song.....

  • Another reminder of what a great songwriter Cat Stevens was- and I do think this is the best cover of this superb song. And for you who denigrate "covers", that's all that Elvis, Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and a whole string of other greats, ever recorded. Get a grip.

  • Yeah i love this version!

  • It is true: the first bus is the cheapest!!!!!!.

  • this is the best version of first cut is the deepest!

  • if you like this tune, check out duffy's version on jools holland

  • Yeah, the commentator shouldn't have said "her" song 'cause it's not, but I understand we're you're coming from saying "wtf - it's just a cover!" It's just that people that've been around rock for so long oftentimes remember who did the original song. Obviously, the commentator's very young, and probably never heard of Cat Stevens. Still, Crow blows this one away!!

  • She performed this on One Tree Hill and she totally rocked it :D

  • parabens vanessa muito bom o video

    gosto muito dessa musica

  • Molly Sims sounds stupid. I know she is probably reading off a teleprompter, but still she is a dim bulb. At least her career is faltering so we don't have to hear her stupidity.

  • Good song - wonderful performer!

  • Gr8 Cover...i like all three versions...Cat stevens,Rod stewart and Sheryl crow.....

  • really nice!!¡!¡!¡¿

  • Listen to Norma Frazer 1969 reggae version. She to lay down a good track. Great singing by all.

  • this is a lovely version though an d thanx 2 cat stevens 4 such a beautiful song

  • rod the mod stewart doe,s it best

  • This is a beautiful version of a timeless, beautiful song, end of story, the definitive version is YOUR favourite, not anyone elses. For my money this is a rare better version of a Cat Stevens song.

  • IT´S ORIGINAL CAT STEVENS SONG, LISTEN TO THE ORIGINAL OBRA MAESTRA BY CAT ----NO WAY TO COMPARE----NOT BAD SHERYL!! KEEP PRACTICE!!

  • Great version, I think Sheryl Crow's version is my favourite! Sounds great live too.

  • @alastairfk13 maybe you havent heard the P.P ARNOLD version

  • greatttttttttttt

  • I love this song!! Great performance

  • Love this song. Always have. Always will.

  • it;s steven demetre georgiou;s song

  • I was in Aspen, CO. on vacation many years ago and saw unknown singer called Sheryl Crow in a small club. She was with her band and promoting her first CD. I thought to myself this girl has a mission; to be a rock star. She hung out with crowd afterwards signing CD's, only about 5' 4" and petit. She was friendly, with a girl next door demeanor.

  • Nothing special her voice range doesnt change ,no emotion came across boring .having a good voice is not everything .Rod stewart was a 100 times better

  • its not her song actually...

  • @iloveBNs I know rod sang it, all versions are good, be nice man,,,she,s amazing

  • @smashedup100 actually cat stevens wrote it, check it out man. and yes she can sing well but this isnt her song so...

  • @iloveBNs i know cat sang it

  • beautiful...xxxxxxxx

  • What a wonderful bass!!!

  • her song?? it´s Cat Stevens song!!!! she makes the song incredibly boring...

  • great!

  • @blisslet so basically its up to the listeners opinion as to whether something is classified as rock and roll? what Im getting to (as I seem to have this problem on a daily basis including with members of my family is that people need to start using the phrases "in my opinion" and "I think" instead of pretending that your claim is truth. I actually agree with you however it is still an opinion and it should be stated in such claims

  • I didn't know Sheryl played the bass! Cool! :)

  • linda ronstadt

  • @blisslet define "rock and roll" will you?

  • fantastic!

  • she does this song the best

  • its great♥

  • checkmout duffy doing the same song on jools holland, brilliant

  • love you lady...saw you at Lilith fair 2010..Calgary..you are amazing!

  • P.P. Arnold - 1968??

  • funny drummer

  • This song has always been close to my heart

It always got me when rod stewartt sang it- and Sheryl crowe does a great job with it too -I know the feeling all too well

  • This is such a great version. I think her cover of Sweet Child of Mine is also brilliant and I prefer to listen to that one instead of the original. And doesn't she look great in this movie! Sheryl rules!

  • I thought she did a awesome job on this classic !

  • Und da sag mal einer wir hätten auf diesen Planeten keine guten Musiker mehr!!!

Sheryl Crow kommt in meine "Hall of fame" !!!
