I find it funny that the NDP would be all over this story. That is, until the fact that native corruption and fiscal mismanagement are the cause of all this and not the federal government. Now the NDP are quiet on the subject. I'm so glad we don't have an NDP government in power. These whack jobs would ensure that the whole of Canada would be living in poverty. I mean, look how badly they ran Ontario under Bob Rae. Now imagine that kind of incompetence at the federal level?
The reason DeBeers sent in the all weather mobile homes is because it was responsible for the toilets backing up destroying the homes. DeBeers dumped a sh_load of sewage into the system causing it to back up. This happened twice!
@4Dada: The excess sewage failed to be moved because the station was kept in poor repair, as noted by an engineering report in 2005; in 2009 the problem had not yet been remedied. It was a matter of utter incompetence on the part of the band to maintain its systems. But I guess you can't blame them ... sewage systems are the white man's way ... maybe they should've stuck to shitting in the woods.
