Tune the guitar. That's all I'm saying. It makes his performance sound much worse than it could. It shows lack of attention to detail and little respect for creativity and musicianship.

Acoustic guitars don't have adjustable bridge pieces as electric guitars do. Adjustable saddles can help a fretted instrument have dead accurate intonation. No matter how much he tunes it, the intonation is going to flawed on the upper frets, because acoustic guitars use a single plastic/ivory/graphite saddle, not 6 adjustable saddles. It's not a matter of him tuning his guitar. Sorry to shoot you down. The notes are really out of tune though, I'll give you that.

I'm telling you that this is not a matter of intonation. The open strings are out of tune. Decent acoustic guitars are not out by 1/4 of a semitone, no matter how poor the intonation is.

Let's say that the intonation was out by that much, any human being who played the instrument should recognize it as an issue, and have it corrected before documenting their performance by recording video.
