This is the version that ended up on the 'Live At Red Rocks' album (I am sure this is it). Even though the album was supposed to have been recorded at Red Rocks in Denver, USA, about seven of the tracks were from this gig. Maybe someone can correct me, but I think that is the case. The 'Live At Red Rocks' concert video featured this track, and the others, all from the Red Rocks gig though. Why they called the album 'Live At Red Rocks' , when not all of it was, is puzzling to me.
@EnglishChannel1 contiunes... As you can see this is 6 minutes long, the version on the album 'Live At Red Rocks' is edited as it leaves off all of Bono's 'Eurovision Song contest' references, and the acapella bit where the band stops and Bono sings.
@EnglishChannel1 This song wasn't on the original "Live at Red rocks" album. You are correct though that only 2 songs on the album were from the Red Rocks concert.Gloria and Party girl!
Great clip; I think from here we see where Bono's back problems originated from..the guy fell twice hard backwards... what I didn't understand is after the first fall he insisted on going back up there and perch himself..and then in the end, just to fall down a second time..but then again he was a spirited 23 yr. old (my estimate, since he was born in 1960) at this time, and I'm sure he was feeling an adrenaline rush.
Got to be the least charismatic intro to a live song ever. I know U2 were critisced for being intellectual lightweights at this stage; they didn't really help the cause with performances like this.
I love how it doesn't matter that Bono is falling all over the place he's just singing and talking like he's on solid ground. He did manage at the very end to balance on that rail...so great, it's antics like that that make Bono so fun to look at.
i wish bono could go in the crowd these days like he did back then........

@EnglishChannel1 No musically and vocally this is definitely a different version from the one that appeared on "Under a blood red sky"

Bono is a show man. And Germans know how to party.

I remember reading somewhere that U2 didn't drink before their gigs as they couldn't afford to put on a bad show.
Which means Bono has an appaling lack of balance.

This is awesome.
I love Bono, but he looks drunk as a skunk in this. haha
LordLiamo 3 years ago
He's not drunk. He's trying to stand on that rail and relying on people to hold him up.

She said she was 15 years old, junior high school, maybe she was at the concert?
Not sure who was more wasted, the fans for not holding Bono up, or Bono for falling down 3 times.
