The Bulls had some of the deadliest pure shooters ever! I can't even remember John Paxson missing an open shot during that first 3 peat. Steve Kerr also was an automatic threat during the second 3 peat.
I will never forget that series, cause the Knicks had the Bulls on the ropes 2 to 0. Then the Bulls cameback and swept the Knicks the rest of the series. @VinmanMJ23 yeah but think how many stupid young punks there are in the NBA almost every player nowadays has a temper like john starks if defence was played that agressive now there would be a brawl at the place in every game at every venue
@nandotime3000 Man, growing up, games like this were all I knew ! Physical, demanding, athletic, pure basketball. If you havent seen it before, watch Game 7 of the '92 Knicks/Bulls Series, just as tough.
Muther fucker.......check out the spin first step by jordan @ 8:20.......Starks isn't a bad defender...but he gets owned, here....Damn...i miss good basketball.....
This is basketball man. Gota love the competition, this is another thing that makes Jordan great, he wouldnt take shit from anyone and wouldnt hesitate to go after a guy. Early 90's NBA was the best, I think the 92' 93' Bulls-Knicks playoff series were two of the best and most heated of all time. Can I get a HAND CHECK!!!
Don't you miss the chippy days of the NBA? Days when winning was THE most important thing? There are still warriors out there (Wade, Kobe, KD), guys who just want to win at all costs. I just see too many guys who don't want it bad enough.
Amazing that a technical isn't called when a player kicks the ball into the crowd back then, yet now a player can't even walk away without getting a technical.
@wornoutshoes11 Yeah, that video is awesome. The good old days of the NBA, when you could get really physical down in the trenches and looking at a guy the wrong way wasn't a technical foul.
@80w40 O yeah Jordan his fair share of good treatment. The reason why, is because of David Stern. He wants these perimeter plays to look like good. Nowadays its even worse, Kobe is God on the court, Kobe can murder you on the court and the ref wont call a foul, but if you touch him your getting called for a foul. I blame David Stern for messing up the NBA
it's pretty disapointing to see all these jordan haters. That's just sad in my opinion. That tells me the NBA and basketball is running straight into the ground. People who agree with that comment above should be ashamed of themselves. MJ is the greatest athlete to ever live and saved the sport of basketball when he came in the mid 80's with bird and magic. Now fans these days are so clueless to how the game is truly played. The NBA in my opinion has turned into half WWE and its not entertaining
@Supersonicsfan12 I don't think he saved the game, but I do think he took it to another level on the court (competitively) and off the court (marketing).
@Supersonicsfan12 MJ never saved the game,Magic and Bird saved the NBA.Thats really a fact.Bird and Magic made the NBA into a entertaining sport.MJ was a favorite but if a debate came up about MJ vs Bird or Magic he would be the last one out of the 3.Even if he scored 63 points on the Celtics.People said he would have never won a ring NEVER b/c he never used his teammates. He did take the game to whole different level though. But didn't saved the NBA.
@butler993 well hes a distant cousin my dad is Ernest Starks im Aerial StaRKS MY DAD IS A PROFESSER at a&m hes a history professor he has written 2 books and is working on his third if you dont believe me look him up and yes i am related to john starks hes a distant cousin like i said earlyer
@codyhose1 ok you're either two things: 1) Your a cry baby knicks fan, or 2) your just a hater and know nothing about basketball. Jordan clearly got fouled about half way through the video when he drove the lane and didn't get the foul call. sooo i'm definitely sure stern wasn't sucking anybody's balls in that game. i mean starks didn't get that technical when he KICKED the ball into the stands. so there you go.
@Supersonicsfan12 they didnt give techs for kicking balls into stands back then until after the pistons/pacers brawl... but look at the stats for this game, jordan went 3 for 18 from the field but they sent him to the line 17 times! ridiculous
@projectpaki oh and dennis rodman gets technical foul calls for just mouthing off to the refs through his whole career??? yeah ok that makes a whole lot of sense. and are you gonna tell me jordan's a bitch and goes to the line alot?! durant and kobe get an average of 38 free throws attempts a game, so don't pull that horseshit on me. THATS ridiculous! the NBA was way more hardcore back then so they had to call fouls, and obviously people are gonna try and foul him so he doesnt shoot. ITS MJ!
@Supersonicsfan12 38 free throw attempts a game? LOL what? no bro, they both avg around 7.6 a game... but like i said jordan was 3 for 18 from the field, thats 17% shooting, his worst output of the series, that means that whatever the knicks were doing defensively was working but ur right "ITS MJ" so everytime he went up the refs were a little too quick with that whistle. why would they try to foul a guy whose having a bad shooting night? cmon...
@projectpaki so what??? thats just one game. in the first round this year, derrick rose had 39 points against the pacers in game 1 of the playoffs and 25 of the points were free throws. and yeah i was exaggerating about the times to the line. my point was that people go to the line more these days then the 90's and there's no debate there at all. and your missing another point. When i said "ITS MJ" i meant they have a better chance MJ missing free throws rather than shooting to make him earn it.
@codyhose1 Wow I'm curious what you mean by this o.O dude was as tough as they come but he sure wasn't gonna put up with it. He went through the Knicks and Pistons both, not a star in the league today could do that. If LeBron's head was right no one would mess with him but as is? Pfft....
@codyhose1 jordan was a bitch. starks and ewing are some of the biggest bitches in NBA history. Oh what about greg anthony coming off the bench to punch kevin johnson then kj beat his ass. The knicks suck.Dont be mad becaue we kicked ur ass throughout the 90's.
I don' know that Kobe ever faced this physicality .....maybe defense (2008 celtics), but level of physicality is nuts here...Lebron, forget about it, Dallas was able to steal his heart lol...the knicks would of chewed and spit him out.
thats why riley is my favorite coach...his knicks team had 1 star and a bunch of average players and his team was physical, professional and played the best defense. I dont think any other coach could do what he did with that knicks team.
@lolaf0892 Check out the Lakers vs Portland game 7 in 2000 or the Lakers vs Sac, etc in the early 2000, those game were played at a much higher level and intensity than this one.
This is the real deal folks, and you just don't get this anymore. And you won't with David Stern running the league at least. Back when it was all in your face, and players had to actually work for a basket. Nowadays, it's a bunch of whiny little brats complaining after every foul, whereas back in the day they handled it like a MAN. I would love to see Lebron play in this era, he would be on the floor crying for mommy after his first game.
Why do even people bother comparing Kobe Lebron to the Greatest MJ ? Kobe and Lebron already admitted that they are not even a Pinky of micheal jordan. MJ is just simply the best and world's all time greatest player who got to play and show people and inspire. It is a disgrace comparing our Current players to MJ, no one is in Mj's level. MJ will be MJ simple the best.
Ha fuuny moment at 8:21 Y all the agressiveness during the other altercations,, but when Jordan bucked at Starks starks looked scared as hell.. Ewing Came and grabed him as if to say,, whoa there buddy,, u dont want n e parts of jordan,, he'll beat yo ass in here,, starks like ikman, thanks
ok me,, myself i think starks diserved a tech,, think of the ramifications if it would've hit that lady in the face,, funny as hell as it would have been,, but u still dont want players to start kicking the ball out of frustration... That was tonights Come On Man moment
Damn, just listen to the crowd. This is authentic basketball, from the players down to the fans, nowadays people go to b-ball games to see and be seen. The NBA is Hollywood as hell now.
@2pacinseattle nah, the Worm never had to fight much. he would've frustrated the shit outta those guys, and they would've kicked themselves out of the game lol
I wish the Bulls recruited Mike Tyson as their power forward back then, doesn't matter if he will shoot the free throws like Shaq or Chuck Hayes. I want to see if Starks can pose against Iron Mike.
you gotta love the intense rivalry from these two teams even from the first second it felt like it was the last. this is what you don't see in basketball anymore. you don't have superstar leaders today that take ownership of their team and force every player to fight with the same fire. there are only diva stars now a days for the most part, who'd rather jump ship and play with each other for a shortcut to be a "champion" instead of rising to the challenge.
Look at how intense this game was from the get go. Old chicago staduim used to be CRAZY LOUD!! The heat, the lakers, or even the celtics today don't even come close to producing an atmosphere like this. A goldne age of basketball
@sluv2600 no pressure?? What the hell?? All of America was watching this man and criticizing him and wanting him to fail. He had the most pressure on him all season long and he's only 26 yrs old
@Renzythegreat91 I think he was talking about defensive pressure. Also remember that when they criticized Jordan, he elevated his game even more, sorry but I haven't seen that on LeBron yet
Good call. They demolished the Heat and I dont even want to think about what would of happened if the Bulls played them. It probably would have been a sweep.
@tevondanet30 and @dutton65 --- That is true matey, today breeds a new kind of NBA players. But I can't say that it is any better. Yesteryears game was a man's game, of both talent, strength, and will-power. Today is all about Marketing and hype and the virtues of the game is lost along the way.
@MegaNikol --- Go back to school first and learn how to speak and write properly. Until then, don't you ever dare talk to any of us because you don't belong in our class.
its funny how every criticizes the knicks, calling them bitches, imature, thugs and whatnot, but you know what, i've been a heat FAJN and a bulls follower and i would wait everytime for the heat to clash with the knicks, it was just entertaining to watch them games, nowadays some teams need that extra energy and emotional status that the knicks had back then, altho the rules have affected the game.
@MegaNikol before you start to comment or call another persons comment idotic learn to spell preety is not a word I think you mean pretty and u need to learn who n ho r not the same word. With that said the NBA is clearly a different game today then in the 90's. NBA is no where near as good as it once was. Also Kobe n Mj were on another level compared to the rest of the feild of players in their era. Lebron had a team but couldnt win with them, good players make their team good.
1. MJ played in an NBA era where players played tenacious & physical defense. It was a man's game then.
2. MJ played in an NBA era where there are many talented, dominating Centers: Ewing, Robinson, Olajuwon, O'Neal, Mutombo, Divac, Mourning.
3. MJ played in an NBA era where there a real superstars that bring individuality and specific talent in the game: Magic,Bird,Dr.J,Dominque,Barkely,Payton,Isiah,Dumars,Rodman,Stockton,Malone.
@hetvleermaus preety idiotic comm...first thing you compare a man ho finished a career and two mans ho are still wining and adding to their carrer and step 2..wtf real men then ? now are more muscular more vert and more powerfull players so shut the fuck up they are just legends they cant be compared ( and for the idiots ho compare them) they have diferent teams example kobe rings and lebrons none...lebron till now didnt have a team so stop this shit "ho is the best "
Yeah if Lebron had to play under this kind of pressure he would wilt. He's already wilting under no pressure against the lowly Mavs, imagime if he had to go up against Mason, Xavier, Starks or Oakley? He would wet his bed.
@hetvleermaus Love ya. You said it so well. Reggie Miller too. I do believe the Bulls of this era would have beaten LeBron and crew. That was such a great time for basketball!
@hetvleermaus You said, "1. MJ played in an NBA era where players played tenacious & physical defense. It was a man's game then." Those tenacious defenders guarding MJ were between 6'1 and 6'3.
And you forgot to mention point #4 MJ played in an era and NBA with a bunch of American white boys.

Supersonicsfan12 5 months ago
@Supersonicsfan12 he got all the baby fouls cause stern was sucking his balls
codyhose1 5 months ago
@codyhose1 ok you're either two things: 1) Your a cry baby knicks fan, or 2) your just a hater and know nothing about basketball. Jordan clearly got fouled about half way through the video when he drove the lane and didn't get the foul call. sooo i'm definitely sure stern wasn't sucking anybody's balls in that game. i mean starks didn't get that technical when he KICKED the ball into the stands. so there you go.
Supersonicsfan12 5 months ago 18
@Supersonicsfan12 i talking in general, jordan always gets the calls
codyhose1 5 months ago
@Supersonicsfan12 they didnt give techs for kicking balls into stands back then until after the pistons/pacers brawl... but look at the stats for this game, jordan went 3 for 18 from the field but they sent him to the line 17 times! ridiculous
projectpaki 5 months ago
@projectpaki oh and dennis rodman gets technical foul calls for just mouthing off to the refs through his whole career??? yeah ok that makes a whole lot of sense. and are you gonna tell me jordan's a bitch and goes to the line alot?! durant and kobe get an average of 38 free throws attempts a game, so don't pull that horseshit on me. THATS ridiculous! the NBA was way more hardcore back then so they had to call fouls, and obviously people are gonna try and foul him so he doesnt shoot. ITS MJ!
Supersonicsfan12 5 months ago
@Supersonicsfan12 38 free throw attempts a game? LOL what? no bro, they both avg around 7.6 a game... but like i said jordan was 3 for 18 from the field, thats 17% shooting, his worst output of the series, that means that whatever the knicks were doing defensively was working but ur right "ITS MJ" so everytime he went up the refs were a little too quick with that whistle. why would they try to foul a guy whose having a bad shooting night? cmon...
projectpaki 5 months ago
@projectpaki so what??? thats just one game. in the first round this year, derrick rose had 39 points against the pacers in game 1 of the playoffs and 25 of the points were free throws. and yeah i was exaggerating about the times to the line. my point was that people go to the line more these days then the 90's and there's no debate there at all. and your missing another point. When i said "ITS MJ" i meant they have a better chance MJ missing free throws rather than shooting to make him earn it.
Supersonicsfan12 5 months ago
@codyhose1 Wow I'm curious what you mean by this o.O dude was as tough as they come but he sure wasn't gonna put up with it. He went through the Knicks and Pistons both, not a star in the league today could do that. If LeBron's head was right no one would mess with him but as is? Pfft....

ianeta684 6 months ago 2
I don' know that Kobe ever faced this physicality .....maybe defense (2008 celtics), but level of physicality is nuts here...Lebron, forget about it, Dallas was able to steal his heart lol...the knicks would of chewed and spit him out.
luckylefty232323 6 months ago
thats why riley is my favorite coach...his knicks team had 1 star and a bunch of average players and his team was physical, professional and played the best defense. I dont think any other coach could do what he did with that knicks team.

Who says Lebron is better than MJ? It's not even close.
Kobe on the other hand is comparable, but Kobe isn't better than Jordan.
H0lyPh3n0m 6 months ago
This is the real deal folks, and you just don't get this anymore. And you won't with David Stern running the league at least. Back when it was all in your face, and players had to actually work for a basket. Nowadays, it's a bunch of whiny little brats complaining after every foul, whereas back in the day they handled it like a MAN. I would love to see Lebron play in this era, he would be on the floor crying for mommy after his first game.
hebewster 6 months ago
Why do even people bother comparing Kobe Lebron to the Greatest MJ ? Kobe and Lebron already admitted that they are not even a Pinky of micheal jordan. MJ is just simply the best and world's all time greatest player who got to play and show people and inspire. It is a disgrace comparing our Current players to MJ, no one is in Mj's level. MJ will be MJ simple the best.

QdaChosenOne23 7 months ago
ok me,, myself i think starks diserved a tech,, think of the ramifications if it would've hit that lady in the face,, funny as hell as it would have been,, but u still dont want players to start kicking the ball out of frustration... That was tonights Come On Man moment
QdaChosenOne23 7 months ago
Damn, just listen to the crowd. This is authentic basketball, from the players down to the fans, nowadays people go to b-ball games to see and be seen. The NBA is Hollywood as hell now.

I wish the Bulls recruited Mike Tyson as their power forward back then, doesn't matter if he will shoot the free throws like Shaq or Chuck Hayes. I want to see if Starks can pose against Iron Mike.
corkystorky 7 months ago
you gotta love the intense rivalry from these two teams even from the first second it felt like it was the last. this is what you don't see in basketball anymore. you don't have superstar leaders today that take ownership of their team and force every player to fight with the same fire. there are only diva stars now a days for the most part, who'd rather jump ship and play with each other for a shortcut to be a "champion" instead of rising to the challenge.
mauryposa 7 months ago
Lol u kick the ball into the stands now and ull get ejected xD
TheScrubPker 7 months ago 4
@TheScrubPker he got a technical because they were playing in a hostile environment. He would've gotten a delay of game in NY :)
Robby303 5 months ago
Look at how intense this game was from the get go. Old chicago staduim used to be CRAZY LOUD!! The heat, the lakers, or even the celtics today don't even come close to producing an atmosphere like this. A goldne age of basketball

Until then, don't you ever dare talk to any of us because you don't belong in our class.

its funny how every criticizes the knicks, calling them bitches, imature, thugs and whatnot, but you know what, i've been a heat FAJN and a bulls follower and i would wait everytime for the heat to clash with the knicks, it was just entertaining to watch them games, nowadays some teams need that extra energy and emotional status that the knicks had back then, altho the rules have affected the game.

jon starks is a bitch. MJ woulda pieced him
adrianbpj 8 months ago
@MegaNikol before you start to comment or call another persons comment idotic learn to spell preety is not a word I think you mean pretty and u need to learn who n ho r not the same word. With that said the NBA is clearly a different game today then in the 90's. NBA is no where near as good as it once was. Also Kobe n Mj were on another level compared to the rest of the feild of players in their era. Lebron had a team but couldnt win with them, good players make their team good.
tevondanet30 8 months ago
Kobe, Lebron is better than MJ? Let's see:
* MJ is incomparable!
hetvleermaus 8 months ago 46
@hetvleermaus preety idiotic comm...first thing you compare a man ho finished a career and two mans ho are still wining and adding to their carrer and step 2..wtf real men then ? now are more muscular more vert and more powerfull players so shut the fuck up they are just legends they cant be compared ( and for the idiots ho compare them) they have diferent teams example kobe rings and lebrons none...lebron till now didnt have a team so stop this shit "ho is the best "
MegaNikol 8 months ago
@hetvleermaus ya well bball players didnt lift back then.. its a new breed now
dutton65 7 months ago
@hetvleermaus
Yeah if Lebron had to play under this kind of pressure he would wilt. He's already wilting under no pressure against the lowly Mavs, imagime if he had to go up against Mason, Xavier, Starks or Oakley? He would wet his bed.
sluv2600 7 months ago
@hetvleermaus BESIDES, MJ doesn't need a good center to win champion.
tigersaycheese 7 months ago
@hetvleermaus Love ya. You said it so well. Reggie Miller too. I do believe the Bulls of this era would have beaten LeBron and crew. That was such a great time for basketball!

@hetvleermaus You said, "1. MJ played in an NBA era where players played tenacious & physical defense. It was a man's game then." Those tenacious defenders guarding MJ were between 6'1 and 6'3.
And you forgot to mention point #4 MJ played in an era and NBA with a bunch of American white boys.
Legend1One 6 months ago
@hetvleermaus in jordans era, players slam jordan whereas today they treated kobe and lebron as a queen and gold. (=^_^=)
