  • echols is sleeeepy

  • Thx for posting! I didn't know any promos existed for this. Love it when Johnny Echols kicks out that badass guitar solo at the end :)

  • If I had a time machine I would go back and crash every party I could at the castle.

  • same here dude

  • Think of it. In 1968, a band could release such an adventurous track as a single. Later, music business would just be cowardice.

  • Lol, Johnny Echols is about to burn his nuts with a cigarette.

  • A quite interesting musical film.

  • i've been obsessed w/ this band for the past few years, i listen to 'forever changes' at least once a week.

  • one of the best track ever made, so visionary, so beautiful, so endless, just pure genius!

  • such an incredibly cool band.

  • Their most interesting and ambitious recording; much more so than "Revelation,' which was more of a jam. This film was probably financed by Elektra. The titles use the same font as on Elektra LP covers of that period.

  • amazing song by an epic band. i love the part especially which starts on 01.28

  • You mean the part where it sounds like Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees starts singing? :)

  • rare video.great song and band.arthur lee was a real rock legend.i met him at the middle east in boston 1998.one of the highlights of my life.this was my favorite song by them.i thought they would never play it,but they opened with it.r.i.p. arthur lee

  • they're SO on drugs man

  • No. Really? :/

  • well... after what i know about their bio, and their happyly unexpressive faces, yes. maybe it's just my tricky mind

but hey, i really doubt about it

  • ...and what kind of bicycle is he riding. Was that a reference to Hofmann's bike ride?

  • I think he's just riding the bike to get someplace

  • the lineup wasn't fired be lee. maclean left first and lee could see the band was over and encouraged the others to leave.

  • Eso es un video musical

  • What are the two cars that Arthur is driving. Sure don't make cars as cool or with character these days.

  • the black one could be a lancia

  • the black is an alfa-romeo the one backing up is a jaguar red is porsche

  • I was 16 when their debut album came out in 1966. Listening to LOVE's first 4 albums always takes me back to that special time in my life.

Thank you, LOVE, and all members of this special band.

  • arthur lee is so cute!!! i just want to eat him!!! I wish I had a boyfriend as cute as him!!!

  • Is that Susan Anspach hanging with Arthur?

  • I'd like to find an old newspaper article with something about "The Notorious Doughnut Robbers Have Been Apprehended" - Ken Forssi and Johnny Echols, that is.

  • When The Doors got started way back when, Jim Morrison said, "We want to be as big as Love" Well, The Doors succeeded in becoming bigger, but they were never half the band these guys were.

  • thats makin me cry man, its so sad to think about the way it was to be and the way it all turned out.. i have been a fan since early childhood(little red book on krla most likely was first i heard)) and there is nothing like LOVE.

  • Arthur and Syd forever ... peace out

  • agree with aerinsea, that solo worked up a frenzy of neural activity in mind brain for which i could only turn up the volume.

  • Wow! I never saw the footage before. Super! Far Out!

  • That solo was really outta sight, man!

  • "That solo was really outta sight, man!"

    Ha ha, right on.

  • they talked about this video in michael stuart's book, i really liked the book, i think michael was pretty honest, he didn't have an axe to grind. good stuff on randy holden and the great sons of adam, the all time great love interview is the one with snoopy in zig zag, it's a riot.

  • I love music videos from the 60s. Better than the stupid shit today. Music video in early 90s were cool also because they were kind of psychedelic. Like Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, STP, Lush, and all those other alterative rockers. For me it just late 60s, early 70s, and early 90s rock. Music today sucks. Thanks Arthur Lee for giving us great music. It will never come again.

  • merci merci merci

  • So glad to have found this! So little exists of Love on film. I saw their American Bandstand appearance. It wasn't very good. All the more reason, it's a pity Arthur didn't like to tour. There would have been more footage. He (and Love) should have been HUGE. And I still can't get over how he and Syd Barrett died within week of each other. Both were psych geniuses who burnt out too soon.

  • This is AWESOME! I'm looking for all videos of Arthur Lee and Love from the 60s/70s! You know - the psychedelic stuff.

If anybody knows where I can find any more vids (like this one) of this great rocker, please give me a shoutout. Thanx!

  • that's awesome and beautiful!

  • And don't you just love that guitar solo at the end?

  • Excellent song, proof that Love is one of the best and most underrated musical artists of all time. Thanks for uploading this Thomas - it furthered my interest and appreciation for this great band.

  • The woman in the balcony might be Susan Strasberg, actress who starred in "Psych out", which incidently I just saw for the first time two days ago...

  • What's so great about this video is there is actually film of the original band together. I wish, like so many other people, is that there was more live footage of the original band.

  • There isnt any I bet....

  • Suck doesn't it. I wish there was, but your probably right.

  • arthurly, love, brilliant. this film captures the smoggy druggy weirdness that is/was L.A. i was fortunate to see love at the trancas club in the late 90's. aurther took the stage st age still wet from a night swim in the ocean just across PCH. great cars, great pigeons, great irish wolfhound, GREAT band.

  • What a band. I LOVE Love. Arthur lee, you king amongst men, you're an inspiration to all of us. One of the most talented writers of his genertaion as well as arguably the greatest voice of the 20th century. RIP Arthur, we'll miss you. And all you love fans...i don't believe in God but no other words can describe it, so...God bless you all.

  • Of course you're the one who says he can blow in the studio. Nobody to bug you. You gotta blow, man.

  • You got that from the outtake, cool.

  • i know ive got that collection too, its very cool isnt it?!

  • This guys were so talented and some of them had such a sad destiny. Fantastic document.

  • When we climb up the magick hills to Albion we'll all know

  • OMG!!!! HE DIED?? That's sad!! I've got Love Story double disc set for Xmas '95!! After awhile, their music soon grows and grows on me!! The words, the music, I mean Love was WAAAAAAAY underrated in my opinion!! Great stuff I haven't heard before!! Thanks for posting this vid!!

  • Really appreciate it if someone replys to this message with the fret numbers of the opening chord which starts off this firecracker!

  • Wow - great video, thank you. It's funny, I listen to so much music and when people asked me 'what music do you like' I'd name so many things, including Love. I've seen a few musicians die in recent years, but this time it's really really hurt to hear of Arthur's passing. I can't get over that he's gone. He was a great leader of artists - unique, eccentric and beautiful. A true non-conformist. I only hope he makes heavan as musiclly interesting as he has made this world.

  • ... and Brian McClean drinking the beer-- don't forget him-- the quiet ying to Lee's raging yang-- Love was never the same after Brian left. (This is what's great about Youtube-- where the hell do people find these films. great!)

  • great stuff cheers. rip

  • Arhur Lee and love...best psychedelic band in the world. Nuff said

  • and it looked like the mother of Liv Tyler, Bebe Buell, appearing toward the end...

  • Im so sad this summer last month another one of my musical heros died, Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd, and now Arthur too, so sad R.I.P, Syd,Arthur we miss you but say hi to Hendrix up there in heaven and all of our fallen musical heroes Rest In Peace guys we'll see you all one day.

  • seven and seven is...

Love all ways Arthur.Thank You. xxx

  • weird. RIP Arthur

  • Farewell, Singing Cowboy

  • Goodbye Arthur.

  • Brilliant!

    Arthur, Rest In Peace sir.

  • Amazing stuff!! So good to see the original band on film it really brings to life those album covers. Great track as well.
