Diana's version is hauntingly beautiful and yet bittersweet, and she expresses that in ways that technical mastery of rhyme and pitch can't. Lopez's ability to "emote" is horrible..

I honestly wish these singers would stop singing these covers.

This was the period where Jennifer Lopez and Tommy Motolla were trying to sabotage Mariah Carey's career. This was a blatant copy of Mariah singing this song on her 1's album. Sucks that some people are probably more familiar with this version rather than Mariah's. MC's version of this song is absolutely amazing.

There's something wrong with you guys... for one Mariah tried too damn hard to redo Diana Ross song & if you haven't noticed, she sounded a little raspy which could've been a sign that her voice was deteriorating as time went on. This is a nice cover of the classic Diana Ross song. J-Lo's voice really works on this cover. It is simple, pure, straight forward and clean - a lot like Diana. J-Lo doesn't have the vocal range of Mariah Carey, but Mariah's embellishments on this song were inappropriate.
