Hamza Yusuf proclaims an ashari aqeedah, explaining away the Names and Attributes of Allaah Aza wa Jal. He sings the sufi burdah of busairy, which contains shirk. So how is hamza yusuf NOT a sufi. Hamza Yusuf is a calamity on the Ummah, yet many people who dont know the correct aqeedah of Ahlul Sunnah think he Ok, May Allaah Protect us!

Opinions dont matter but rather it is the evidence that is given weight. If someone calls to deviation they should be rebuked, especially if it is done in the public arena. It is Hamza Yusuf and his Sufi Ashaaree sect who cause division, in their deviation from the straight path of the salaf, it is they (the sufis) who divide the Muslim ummah by promoting bidah and STATEMENTS of Shirk in this Burdah.

this is none other than the methodology of the ikhwan ul-muslimeen. Allegiance but no emnity. This is not the way of The Prophet (Sallalaahu alayhi waslaam), rather this is the way of hasan al-banna. Where is the emnity towards innovation and innovators, where is emnity to kufr and shirk, and its people. Al-Baghawee (d.535H) said, And the Sahaabah, the Taabieen, their successors and the Scholars of the Sunnah passed away while they were upon this, united and unanimously agreed upon having enmity towards the People of Innovation and fleeing from them.

Firsty in the burdah of busairy, he sings the following statement: "OH MOST GENEROUS OF MANKIND (referring to the Prophet sallah Allaahu alayhi wasalam) I HAVE NO ONE TO SEEK REFUGE IN EXCEPT YOU WHEN THE WIDESPREAD CALAMITY OCCURS." This is a clear statement of shirk, i.e Calling upon other than Allaah.

Secondly, he is of the ashaaree creed. Who have severe deviations in Aqeedah. They deny Allaah is above his throne, they deny the Istawa.

They (ashari sufis) explain away the names and attributes of Allaah. They do not take the Names and Attributes of Allaah on their apparent meaning. Ahlul Sunnah affirm the names & Attributes of Allaah, without likening them to the creation. The sufi ashari hamza yusuf instead of followinf ahlul-sunnah on this, they explain away the names of Allaah. Hence they have a deficient and deviated understanding of Tawheed. The list goes on and on. It is upon you to accept the evidence and recognise....

There are plenty of videos here on Youtube where he is singing the burdah, he even has a whole CD set. He doesn't deny singing the burdah of busairy; quite the contrary he praises it and the sufi aqeedah of shirk and bid'ah. The evidence is there if you open your eyes, rather than being caught up with personalities.

Hamza Yusuf is following Ali Al Jeffry who is a Sufi (deviant sect concocted much later than death of the Prophet of Islam) and if anyone follows Ali Al jeffry surely he is a Sufi. Sufis say that they are followers of Sunna but in fact they have concocted many actions of shirk like asking dead people for help as well as believing that Allah is in pigs, dogs, or any other animals or even toilets etc.

Ahhhh i thought hamza yusef was like this.. when he came to bradford, he only comes to what we call the 'BARAILVI' mosques or they themselves that... but basically they believe that the prophet s.a.w. is EVERYWHERE, and they perform 'salatus salaam' which is standing towards medina,facing the prophet s.a.w.'s grave standing in qiyaam, and sending prayers to him.

The reaction of the Sufis and their fans is expected. But our complaint is with Dr. Suhaib Hasan may Allah rectify his affairs. SubhaanAllah he claims to be Salafi & called Hamza Yusuf "Esteemed Shaykh" while introducing his book. And when he was criticized for it, he makes all kinds of excuses instead of openly repenting and accepting his mistake & dissociating from these & other Sufis, Shia, ikhwanis, etc. May Allah keep us firm upon as-Salafiyyah.
