Crime....you wanna talk about crime ?? I got so much crime in my neighborhood everytime I close a window I catch someone's fingers .......eehhhhh...let me tell ya......
@mbrk6827 Yes, he did, may he RIP. The joke, however, was in keeping with the kind of humour he did. In fact, just before his passing, he went into hospital for a heart operation. Reporters asked him how much more time the operation would give him. Rod, characteristically, answered: "A few years, if I'm lucky; if I'm not, two weeks", turning around the Dr. Vinny joke.
the day he died I wrote down every joke I knew of his; 2 pages' worth..."when I was a kid, playin' in my sandbox, the cat kept coverin' me UP all the time!" ba da BING! The world could use a Rodney/Carson combo again!
"How many times you see out in the street, a Tall Handsome man, walking arm in arm with a short, fatuglygirl (Pause) I never saw that, did you ever see that?!" I love it!!!
I'm 40 and I haven't made a ton of money and Rodney didn't "make it" until his mid 40's or early 50's. It's gotta make you put things into perspective and keep trying to succeed! Rodney was a TRUE inspiration!
His light blue shirt is probably stems from the fact that they would wore light blue shirts in the days of black and white television when white shirts were too "hot" under the bright lights.
WOW I click on Ed Sullivan to see Ed Sullivan, but I see everyone else but Ed Sullivan. How can You have an Ed Sullivan Channel, but you don't show Ed Sullivan?
I was a little kid when Rodney Dangerfield used to come on Ed Sullivan's show. And I remember thinking "I wonder why everybody hates this guy" not realizing it was his act. And then a couple of years later when he started appearing on the Tonight Show quite often I thought he was terrific. I still do. RIP Rodney. You're making God laugh now.
@AutumnSplendors - Same with me. When I first saw him (probably around the first time this clip aired), I thought, "Who is this unfunny guy?" But the more I watched Rodney over the years, the funnier he got. Extrememly funny man who has been missed.
I never got any respect in High School. I use to share a locker with a mop.... I had a nephew that was gay...when everybody in Biology class was disecting frogs, he was opening flies. My mom never loved me, she said she liked me as a friend. When I was a baby I was breast fed by my father.... No Respect....forever and ever RIP Rodney baby!!
I also loved RD. My wife can't stand him (at least his type of comedy). I loved everything he ever did or any movie he was in. He was one of the oldie's but goodies :)
Rodney Dangerfield was one of the best stand up comedians of all time. Not because of his jokes, but because he knew how to deliver them with perfect timing. And his nervous twitches made him even funnier.
I was making love to this girl the other night. She started crying. I said "Are you gonna hate yourself in the morning"? She said "No I hate myself now".
"Boy, I tell ya, I don't get no respect, not even up here in Heaven! For years, my Christian friends said Jesus loves you, Jesus loves you. I get here, and I find out he only likes me as a friend! And everybody else got a golden harp. Me, I got a tin tuba! No respect at all!"
Fifty-Seven seconds of a stand-up routine is kinda useless or at the very least completely disrespectful to the man who spent time writing and honing this act. How bout posting the whole thing?
I respect the lengendary Rodney Dangerfield, so it's totally worth it to buy this on a DVD. Why do sime people want everything for free these days? There are thousands of free videos you can watch on YouTube, but apparently that is not enough. Instant gratification and the sense of entitlement... so obsessive some people can be these days...
I agree, always best to get the full episodes. I even enjoy the old TV commercials, but they are edited out, naturally.
When a studio or distributor hold the re-run & home video rights to shows, they re-publish them the way they want, often times promising that there are "12 big shows on one DVD!", giving the false illusion, since they have edited the shows down to shorter content.
The website called Hulu really destroys great old TV shows, like Green Acres edited down to just 6 minutes. Boo!
Well, I guess we found out who inspired Andrew Dice Clay.
