There's an important distinction to be made when using words as many have multiple meanings and just because one use may be offensive there still may be another use of the word. Such as if you call someone a nigger it is most likely going to be that you want to be offensive but you also might just be calling them ignorant.

This is a little silly...nigger is latin for black. It doesn't really mean anything as it's used now but it's derogatory in usage. "Nigger" has a real meaning. Look it up in a dictionary or try calling a black person you don't know a "Nigger" and see if it has no meaning, then. Words are given meaning by people. It's in the lexicon to stay with largely its own history and meaning, independent of the origin word. So the first sentence is wrong.
