i wanted badly to see this film, but now i know i cannot. i lost my only son, 10 years old. in a 1991 car accident . just some of the things she says in the trailer make me cry, and no, you never get over it
i hate melancholic nicole in 'margot at the wedding'. is this movie similarly depressing? i just want to watch movie for entertaining not frustrating myself
I lost my 2 yr old son two years ago when he was hit by a car driven by a 21 yo kid, This movie was WAY too familiar for me. It was absolutely heart wrenching, Brought back the horror full force in a way I havent recovered from, even though I watched it two days ago. The part about the brick gives me a little hope. Just a little.
This film is what I like to call a Damn film. A film that leaves you saying "Damn..." A person needs to know the art of film to truly appreciate this, otherwise it will be slow and dry. However, this film is haunting and yet light-hearted under the difficult circumstance Becca and Howie are in. This a must see for film lovers.
As a father who has lost a child, I just have to say, they achieved absolute perfection with this film. They comprehensively encapsulated the experience of suffering that unique loss. It's so hard to watch, but ever time I do, the heart wrenching catharsis is worth it. Every time, it's a dagger in my heart and a boulder off my shoulders.
This is probably one of the few movies I just feel neutral about when I watch it. I've watched it a few times in the past month because I just can't decide if I really like it or not. I mean, I think I liked the idea, and I liked the theories about life and death that were outlined. None of the characters had relatable personalities and were really bland. I think thats what made it harder for me to watch. I guess I like it though. I just finished it again. I still feel the same.
undoubtedly one of the best movies IS THIS GREAT ACTRESS NICOLE KIDMAN, well-deserved Academy Award nomination as Best Actress, ONE OF THE BEST FILMS OF THE PAST YEAR, THE MERIT IS NO DOUBT THAT FOR NICOLE KIDMAN GIVES ONE OF HIS BEST INTERPRETATIONS OF HER CAREER
Really sobering film on a subject most people would avoid. Such a daring film and a particularly amazing performance by Nicole Kidman. I couldn't get enough of her movies if I wanted to. I'll be first in line to see her next film 'Trespass' bitly. com/qN22Cm
I haven't seen this one yet but my Dad was watching it on a plane and thought it was pretty good. And if that's not a winning testimonial I don't know what is. I just want to see Nicole Kidman. Her characters are always so thoughtful and poised with a hint of despair. She's coming out in a new film called "Trespass" but looks like it's gonna be a great role. Check it out on arrival.
Hey guys! I've filmed a video of myself performing a monologue from this movie. If you could take a couple of minutes to check it out and let me know what you think i'd really appreciate it! Please please :) thanks !
This is a very sad, very moving film - one of the best films of the last year. It's perfectly directly , and the acting is superb. Nicole Kidman's botox face actually makes sense for the character she plays, but it's still a bit disconcerting. I would have loved to have seen Cynithia Nixon reprise her stage role for the film instead.

im sorry but nicoles face was fine in the film. you could clearly see wrinkles and lines...this isnt like back in 04 with "stepford wives". the only unnatural thing about her face is those lips, which havent quite returned to their normal size after baz luhrman requested she get colligen for "australia"
@viewthedee : the ending merely meant they had to take one moment at a time. They will NEVER get over this, they will have to deal with it forever, but they have to take one day at a time.
@spirit2981 In Brazil they called it by a stupid name: "Meeting happiness again." I don't know why "Rabbit Hole", but it seems more interesting than "Meeting happiness again". By far.
Why is there a convo about slow movies here? Did anybody really think this was slow? Its only an hour and a half long including credits. I didn't think it was possible to have a movie that short be slow.
@leahcorin30 so much respect send towards you darling :) ive lost a brother , my twin sister and my bestfriend .. but i know that no matter how awful and horrible i feel it has affected my parents life deeper .. they didnt kniw the lil secrets my siblings had , they didnt know about sneaking out and what happens in parties but they have lost pieces of them .. may the god you have faith in stay by your side and make you stronger .. take care of yourself!
I have lost a child a 14 month old little girl. I know how this feels. And its very much true. its a lot like the alice in wonderland theory below, when our child died it was like we fell through the rabbit hole into a whole other dimension and we had to learn to live in this world. its never the same again. we had to adapt. and there is a god. i dont blame god for this. this is life.
@dralockhart I don't know anything about "Green Lantern", but the amount of thinking is not related to the movie, but to the audience. Anything can trigger an interesting response if you're clever enough to think outside the box. Given your sweeping statements, I guess you need a movie that forces you to think to be able to produce some sort of response. Truth is, any stimulus can do the trick. Thinking is as natural as breathing, it shouldn't be a pain, but a pleasure.
@dralockhart I don't agree with that. I've enjoyed the works of Kubrick, Bunel, Godard, Malick, Kobayashi, etc. and other filmmakers who take their time in telling stories which require a bit of effort to watch at first. However, have you ever seen a Michelangelo Antonioni film? His films are also slow and I don't generally enjoy them. Rabbit Hole was not a slow film. @dralockhart Not always. I just saw X Men: First Class and Pirates of the Caribbean 4 and thought they both could have used some trimming and condensing. Even shallow films can be too long and dragged out.

Nothing makes sense - it's all different.
@xTheOxx well thats true. but the thing is if u look at her in moulin rouge she so soo pretty. it really upsets me when i think she did all that to her face!
Good timing, I was just thinking to myself, "What is the most sad terrible thing I could think of that I would be willing to pay ten bucks to see for two hours?"
Now I know whole story without watching the movie.

@xTheOxx well thats true. but the thing is if u look at her in moulin rouge she so soo pretty. it really upsets me when i think she did all that to her face!

...sounds like a good movie
i just want to point out that the pen drawing it's way towards the 'family' tree just reminded me of the 'Big Bang Theory' intro lol

@28880 the pen drawing has nothing to do with a family tree :) but you should watch the movie its really good
