So called Chiropractic "Vertebral Subluxations" do NOT exist! Complete nonsense and quackery. Do not waste your time and money on a 116 year old belief system. These guys will stop at nothing to take your money and make you believe that they are doing some good. No substantial evidence to back up their main method of treatment which is the Chiropractic adjustment. Could do more harm than good, especially when they adjust the neck
Chiropractic has been around for 100 years and is gaining steam as the major force in alternative health care which helps people without the use of pharmaceuticals
Its a well researched fact that many people develop degenerative joint disease which primary affects weight bearing joints including the spine. One of the ways to prevent degenerative joint disease is to get regular mobilization to those areas so they don't develop the disease. Chiropractors help for the correct nutrition, adjustments and core stabilization which offset this disease and many others, and by the looks of our culture and the rapidly approaching diseases, frankly we need it.
Usually chiropractors put people on a regulated treatment plan so that the muscle tone can adjust to the bones that are being corrected. It takes a series of adjustments and stabilization in order for the body to correct itself following a misarticulation. Just like dentistry, if you don't take care of your teeth you will get cavities and degeneration. In chiropractic which may be of equal importance is the spine which is the second part of central nervous system.
Ummm no physiological basis and educated people would know that? Hello... You obviously never studied nerve physiology in your degree. Every single nerve in your body comes from your spinal cord retard. Nerves send signals from your brain to every organ in your body including your skin. So I suppose now medicine is just a bunch of mumbo jumbo too.
phileustace, they actually do stuff. Why dont you try going to one. Ive been going to one my whole life and I have had no problems at all. Just give it a try. The first one you may not see anything but go back 1 or 2 times a week you will start noticing differences. You will sleep better, you will be feeling better as well. Trust me, just give it a shot.
Yeah go to your medical doctor where he will give you a prescription that tears down the inside lining of your Gi system and gives you ulcers, and in some cases kills 300,000 people a year. After your Gi lining is broken down, you won't be able to absorb b12 which will give you Multiple Sclerosis when you or older. Or you could just get to the root of the problem like chiropractic does.
Thats a very ignorant thing to say about a profession that helps so many people
Thompson drop uses three short adjustments in order for the sacroiliac joint to come into place. Moving the sacroiliac joint into place stops inflammation and corrects the short leg,
You should do more research before you make statements like that, because chiropractic helps millions of people with low back pain.
@pillaroffire100 I don't denie that there are many chiros that do good honest work, but unfortunately after correcting the sacroiliac joint issue, many chiros would tell you to come back again & again for the rest of your life. Why can't one adjustment be just that, only 1, if the bone keeps popping out of place, then you're doing it wrong, for the 23hrs and 50 minutes a day I'm not being adjusted vs the 10 minutes of adjustment what's the point if the bone pops out again. 1 adjustment 1 visit
@cumbas This man is a chiropractor. Chiropractors are not considered doctors by american medical standards. It is not necessary for the shoes to be removed, and bacteria is not an issue because the chiropractor will not do any sort of probing within the body, except for x-rays maybe. It's all done on the outside of the body, however, shoes affect posture, so it would make sense from that point of view now wouldn't it?
Here is a truism in health care: The more education you have, the more you can see through the bs purported by others who are simply preying on the gullible and under-educated. If people had the education, they wouldn't be going to a clown like this, they would know how to treat themselves or avoid the things that predispose them to problems. Chiro is bs and a rip-off, with no physiological basis whatsoever. Where is the evidence? It is called "placebo".
The funny thing is that using critical thinking skills is frowned upon by these snake-oil salesmen. They prey on the gullible, uneducated public who don't ask the hard questions (evidence?). Health care is a lifestyle choice and people should need to consult with a chiro, paying big bucks, to be told what they should already be doing. And this scientific fantasy-land of "subluxation" and "vitalism", is reflective of a profession without grounding in the 21st Century.
Dude. Your an idiot. I mean, seriously. If you actually took the time to research at all, you'd find that there are VERY few people who go to the chiropractors and don't feel better when it's done. I don't know of any sexual harrassment claims, because there is none going on. Your just retarded. A was bounced back and forth between specialist doctors for 8 years and they couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. The chiropractor did. Funny how that works huh?
This is not true at all. I have exactly the same problem as the patient being treated here and because of that i have gotten whats called Shin Splints.
By going to the chiropractor 6 times in 2 months, the strain on my shins has reduced cause of me running differently due to the fact that my back got loosened up. I always have less pain in my back than before after standing for several hours.
REAPER193, I totally agree with you. Chiropractors are just doing some creative back cracking. Like glorified massage therapists. There is sort of a cult around Chiropractors, like Scientologists. They both spout mumbo jumbo at you to explain that there is "something wrong with you" and you need their services to be put right again. It looks like such a scam. People pay so much money for it and want to believe it's working. So patients fool themselves into believing this placebo works.
First off, I pay nothing for it, second, it's not mumbo jumbo if it works. I didn't understand it when I went in there. I was skeptical, but thats what my doctor recommended so i went. The chiropractor told me I had scoliosis, and a twisted pelvis. The twisted pelvis was due to my bad ankle, I don't have enough space to explain my ankle here though. Basically, after three or for adjustments, I was walking better, and feeling better. It's common sense if you think about it.
person's body or spine, you think about point by point analysis. If you can't think of the bigger picture then the patient has to keep coming back time and time again so you can work out the next "piece of the puzzle". AFter 400 visits she owes $100,000 dollars when a big picture chiropractor could do the whole assessment in 1 free visit. If you wanna save money don't see this guy.
Not true... Sometimes you have to loosen up certain parts before you can fix the rest. And as some parts gets corrected other problems that a person hasnt noticed might come up.
Ofc, i do not know how it works in the US or UK, but at least here in Denmark you can't open a chiropractic clinic without having undergone an education.
It's hilarious that there are so many ignorant and stupid people out there who still think that the way to health is through a bottle of pills. Obtain a clue - please.
HA HA you are right !! It is totally like two kids playing doctor. Chiropractors as a profession are so low compared to real doctors. Its hilarious you are right how they try to show that their "profession" is meaningful.
