I truly love the concept of having jellies and it was something as a child that I one day hoped to be able to afford. We bought a desktop (the spherical one) and 2 jellies, nervous that they'd be really tough to care for, had them for less than a month and they died. We did everything we were told to do, but nothing saved them...it's frustrating, because I'm very tempted to give it another try, but I don't want to kill more jellies and spend a lot of money.
@JellyfishArtDotCom aww i wish i could have one i will if i have enough money if when im allowed for Allowances and got thosands i will buy tanks from your website...Soon.....
I have always wanted pet jellyfish, but I never knew it was possible. I found your site and got very excited. :) However, I was wondering if it was still possible to get the small rounded desktop tank? I couldn't locate it anywhere on your site.
YOOOO I GOT SOME QUESTIONS .. WHERE CAN I BUY IT?? I LIVE IN MAHATTAN IS THERE ANY ACARIUM WHERE I CAN GET IT??? HOW MUCH DOES IT COST DA ONE IN THIS VIDEO INCLUDING DA JELLYFISHES ? DONT SEND ME TO DA WEBSITE JUS TELL ME A PRICE ....
can different speices of jellyfish live together in one aquarium? and how many moon jellyfish do you think would fit in a 16 gallon tank? what about a 40 gallon tank. Please answer i rly want a jellyfish but i need to have more info.
@pizzamaster110211 i know a good bit about their site and jellyfish so i might be able to help you out. first off, some jellyfish eat other species so its a bad idea to mix and match. well the 8 gallon tank holds 8 jellyfish and a 40 gallon capacity tank holds ten jellys. so a 16 could hold around 9.
If I recall correctly box jellyfish are extremely poisonous and people have actually died from their stings. People have scars from where the tentacles touched them that look like branding iron marks. I thought box jellyfish were dangerous as well but maybe not as much as I remember.
@kuzak20 It is extremely expensive to order box jellyfish but it is possible. We usually recommend moon jellyfish or pacific sea nettles for our custom tanks.
@Steve180ca We modify the design of the tube to allow a water flow pattern that is favorable to jellyfish. It is critical that a jellyfish tank have the correct water flow, otherwise jellyfish can get stuck in corners or sucked into filtration intakes.
That's good to hear. Is it safe to assume that the color-changing LED light that you're working on for the bowl tank will be available as an option for the cylinder tank as well in the coming weeks?
Yes, it will be available on the cylindrical desktop tank. Color-changing lights are already available as an option on the Monaco, which is the 40-gallon tank with jellyfish in the video above.
I noticed what appears to be a "mini" desktop cylinder Biorb-style tank next to the 40 gallon tank. Do you offer this smaller cylinder model configured/modified for the moon jellies as well, or just the round bowl-style tank that is currently shown on your site and in the other videos?
This is the cylindrical version of our desktop tank, which will be available on our website within a month. We do have them available now, so if you want to order one right away you can do so by contacting us.
You don't have to use an ammonia kit, but it can be a good idea to keep an eye on the ammonia levels during the first two weeks you have jellyfish. If the ammonia level gets high, you can dilute it by changing 25% of the water.
The charcoal portion of the filter should be replaced because it absorbs toxins in the water and must be discarded. However the sponge portion of the filter can simply be rinsed and replaced.
Yes, we offer a species of Moon Jellyfish that likes the water temperature at 77 degrees. As a result, the tank uses a heater instead of a chiller. We do this because heaters are inexpensive, silent, compact, and less prone to breaking.
We can ship this tank and live jellyfish to the UK. Please contact us for a price quote since it will include fees for customs and shipping live animals.
But this tank is not sell on your site now?

A jellyfish tank is full of water. Find the work required to pump the water out of the spout. Use the fact that water weighs 62.5 lb/ft^3

There is no way that is 40gal.
jakeeln 2 years ago
Au contraire my friend, it is in fact 40 gallons:
Volume of a cylinder = pi * radius squared * height
Radius = 9 inches
Height = 36 inches
Volume = 3.14 * 9 squared * 36
Volume = 9,160 cubic inches
1 cubic inch = 0.00433 gallons
Volume = 9,160 * 0.00433 = 39.67 gallons
