  • This is now plastered all over facebook...all over the World!...my friends have reposted it..and their friends!...spreading the word as best I can :)

everyone, who has FB, Twitter etc..PLEASE REPOST!!

    thank you :)

  • Great video, strong message..have posted it on my Facebook

  • powerful video- only just found it- brings up a lot of issues. keep up the good work !!

i will use this in m yedcuation programme with young people.

    thanks

  • This video says everything. Powerful and dramatic and hopefully will make everyone think about their attitudes towards animals.

  • a lot to think about how we treat animals

  • A really far reaching video to share a message that must be heard and seen by the world. Keep up the excellent work because you are making a difference to the lives of animals who desperately need our voices and our help to survive.

  • Thanks for the input artwoman05

We really do hope our efforts can help make a difference.

The initial feedback on this video has been very inspiring and encouraging.

We are certainly resolved to keep doing it and Colliewood Films and Border Collie Rescue are open to suggestions for other projects and how we can do more to raise awareness of these and other issues.

Got any ideas, get in touch.

  • Powerful, it will make people think.Polititions must listen.... and soon. B.S.L. is stupid, it does not work and causes suffering. There is enough cruelty in the world, let us be compassionate and sensible.

  • Hi hazeandel,

Hope it does make people think - & act.

Getting politicians to listen is more difficult.

If there was a danger of losing votes - their jobs & power - we will get their attention.

The "silent majority" needs to get behind the changes they should make.

BSL is a stupid approach to DD problems - it's not a problem of dogs or breeds - its the way people socialised them, treat them, train them - handle them.

Until owners are targeted & punished there will be no improvement.

  • Well done for this video to Colliewood films and Border Collie rescue and BorderlinesUK and Maria Daines.

Great song with a great message in a great video - collaberation works. 5*

  • Hello 69ajax,

    Collaberation!

"something created by working jointly with another or others"

Welfare issues are often very divisive - even between animal rescue organisations.

Odd, because we are all supposed to be working towards the same aims so co-operation should be the keyword.

The politics of rescue often get in the way - making it difficult to make progress.

This is not lost on those who oppose progress - they can divide us and win.

We really should all collaborate more.

  • Nicely done!

  • Thank you skipskipper.

    It's taken us a while.

  • Speechless too... Wow... the heartbeat at the end made me break down completely... A little life so so fragile... Thank you rockinfortheplanet for sharing this, I will share it also with everyone on my list, on facebook, I'll email it to everyone I know! Awesome!

This is one of the best video I have seen, EVER!!! And such a great way to use Maria and Paul's wonderful, heartbreaking song!

May we be able to keep that heartbeat going!...

  • Hello lovetoallanimals

This is a point that was much debated in the making of this vid - the heartbeat.

It's very emotive & we weren't sure if we should use it or not & - if yes - should we fade it or stop it abruptly.

    The difference seemed significant.

Then there was - what sort of heartbeat? Human - Synthetic - animal - choices!

In the end we picked a dog with a heart problem & recorded it, fading it out on the video - we felt that left hope.

It's a wonder the video ever got finished!

  • This has to be the best composed 'awareness' video I have seen in a long time.

Excellent and a special thank you for highlighting the plight of the greyhounds!

  • Hello ringwaxy,

Thank you for your kind words.

Very aware of the plight of Greyhounds. Every breed has problems, but some breeds problems are compounded by global industrial exploitation.

With animals - wherever there is money to be made there is additional abuse to be dealt with.

    It's a sad contradiction.

You would think that a multi million industry, dependent on an animal breed for profit would care for the source of its income.

    But corruption rules.

    Hope this helps your cause.

  • Hard-hitting and thought provoking .... tragic and inspiring. This video prompted me to look at several others that were made by the Border Collie Rescue society........... amazing work, amazing people................ thank you for caring so much!!

  • Hello bonniekali,

Thank you for taking the trouble to comment and also for having a look at some of the other videos the charity has made.

Hope you enjoyed them - there will be more - as and when we have the time.

It's a good medium for getting a message across.

  • Great Video!! There's nothing more to add. Think, watch, listen, ACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Besides: another brilliant song of yours, dear Maria!! Yeah, I'm still alive, kinda sorting things out to make a new start......

Many regards, also to Paul, your friend Dieter

  • Hey Dragondicer, thanks for commenting.

Agree that the song is brilliant - maybe it hits and inspires us because we are old (or in some instances - closet) rockers.

Maria has a whole bunch of songs just as good, powerful and inspiring.

    ACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what we want people to do now.

  • Holy smokes...this is AWESOME! One of M&P's powerhouse songs excellently aligned with gripping imagery that really grabs you and drives the message home. Pro editing. Standing ovation here!!

  • Thank you PINEPUPPY

    Comments like yours are encouraging.

Makes us all want to do more - and we will!

Bang on the nose regarding the song.

It was the song that inspired us all to work on the video.

Lets hope the result inspires others.

  • I'm absolutely speechless by how brilliant this video is!! It's powerful and relays a vital message that is understood instantly through clever production and editing.

Excellent work that will undoubtedly make a difference and inspire each of us to do better and do some good. Thank you for your tremendous work in giving the world a powerful means to end suffering. It's going straight on our website, bravo!!!! And of course, sharing far and wide. Thank you so much.

  • Now then rockinfortheplanet, credit where credit is due.

Any power in this video comes from the power in the song that carries it.

The music & lyrics carry the message - the video serves to re-enforce them. Thanks for writing it.

It's pretty weird with the sound off!

Lets hope it is useful in providing a tool to the arsenal of those who are trying to raise awareness of these issues.

They need debate, awareness and THOUGHT.

THINKING about these issues is one thing legislators fail on.

  • amazing vid, I know about the dangerous dogs act ect and i know that a puppy shouldnt be destroyed just because it looks like a dog that may be dangerous. But just the other week i read in the news paper that a saffy attacked a small child in the street, the owner of the staffy strangled the dog and put it in a bin. What would you do?

  • Hi jazziuk18,

Well - what would we do?

If one of our dogs attacked a child (Border Collies often nip or bite children - sad but true), we would examine the circumstances & make a decision based on understanding - not fear or a thirst for revenge..

If the dog was a lost cause - humane euthanasia by a qualified person under circumstances designed to cause the least distress/pain to the dog.

If we knew someone who had strangled their dog and binned it, we would report them. They need help.

  • Good job

    Fast but powerfull

  • Hopefully not too fast that the message is lost!

    Thanks for the comment.

  • This video is absolutely brilliant! Showing the real link of atrocities human to human, and human to animals. Very informative, and well put together, overall getting a powerful message across.

  • Thanks for the comment moonofandraste.

They say that people who are cruel to animals will often go on to abuse other people.

Many murderers have a history of animal abuse - perhaps it's a question of exerting their power over weaker beings, unable to retaliate or defend themselves.

This is a strong arguement to enforce animal welfare/abuse laws.

Even if a person does believe that 'its just and animal', subject to human superiority - they should support enforcement.

    They may be next.
