The blower goes on the top of the Tee just before the engine. You would close the valve to the engine and open the valve to the blower, run the blower untill the output of the blower is flameable. Then turn off the blower, close the valve to the blower and open the valve to the engine. The engine vacuum will keep the down draft going.

i like it because it actually shows how a gasifier is made, not theory but technical tit-bit people not working with hardware don't know. like circular drill, i really thought i'd have to hake the drum to the metalwotkers for the hole!
