  • Thanks, I was able to do it fairly easily thanks to your video. Also did the engine air filter, thanks again!

  • would it matter if you put it upside down by accident and if you did would you be able to know ? my new cabin charcoal filter doesnt have an direction to put it or any words. doesnt say upside down .. no pointing arrows... someone please help

  • Outstanding. Really. Thanks for the excellent vid.

  • followed step by step!! thanks man! i finished as well in less than 15mins it was super dirty down there. the only diference its that mines is nav so it just had a couple clips more but thats no trouble!

  • i did this but now there is a dash light blinking at me it looks like it has to do with the airbags. i got all the wires plugged back in right how do i reset it

  • my cabin air filter didnt have any arrows pointing which way the air flow is flowing. does it matter? i bought an OEM cabin air filter too.

  • can you spray lightly a scent over the filter?

  • Arrrrgh... Youtube won't let me post a website address. That description says...

    Length: 8 1/2"

    Width: 7 13/16"

    Thickness: 1 3/16"

    which is equivalent to

    216mm(length)

    198mm(width)

    30mm(thickness)

  • Could anyone please tell me the dimensions of that filter? I have to know whether it's "200mm x 229mm x 30mm" or "200mm x 216mm x 30mm" or something else. Please please anyone, I really need it.

  • @SpeedKid117 28cm x 16.5cm x 3cm (approximate dimensions)

  • @eturkov Thanks eturkov, I really appreciate it!!!

    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cabin-Air-Filter-Infiniti-G35-Sedan-Coupe-03-04-05-2006-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQfitsZMakeQ3aInfinitiQ7cModelQ3aG35Q7cYearQ3a2003QQhashZitem43a643fdacQQitemZ290552282540QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

I am not getting this ebay filter but the demensions(inches) in the description states 216mm(length)x198mm(width)x30mm(thickness) and it fits all 2003-2007 G series.

  • @SpeedKid117 sorry, looks like I gave you the dimensions for the engine air filter, not the cabin air filter. sorry :)

  • @eturkov According to that description and the ones I found elsewhere, the dimensions you've kindly given me is way off. Is that the one you've really used?

  • thanks for this instructional! you saved me a lot of time and money, keep up the good work!

  • You are the best. You have saved me countless hours keeping my G35 top notch.

    Thanks.

  • very nice job. but infiniti has the most retarded way of changing the incabin filter. it takes any toyota/lexus car 1 minute to get the air filter changed. this... might as well disassemble the whole dash... wtf.

  • I just did this on an 06 g35x. You definitely have to remove the trim pieces because one of the screws (2nd to last in video) is a pain to get to without doing so. Just use some elbow grease and all the pieces pop out without a problem and back in looking clean as stock.

  • Thanks for cool vid !!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting. I watched this on my iPhone in the garage and was able to follow your directions step by step. I used a non OEM charcoal filter (dealer wanted $88 for just the filter not including labor).

  • Thanks for posting this!!!

  • Thanks for this video. I was not looking forward to trial-and-error. But I also didn't want to pay the 1000% premium on the filter to have it installed. Did your friend like the charcoal filter better than the paper one?

  • @RobTheBolder Yeah, the charcoal ones are a bit nicer, filter out a bit more pollen and odors

  • Did it change by 2006? All I had to remove was the glove-box door... Didn't see any reason to remove all the trim stuff???

  • @dtuna42 it can be done without removing some of the trim, however, you risk damaging the panels.

  • Great video! Why does he have the floor mat in backwards? lol

  • Well, the dealer offered to do this for a cool $150. that kind of griped me. So I went to Advanced Auto and got a filter for $17 and then followed this video. I finished the entire job in less than 15 minutes.

    I am not richer...and smugger :)

Thanks for the video. What a great service.

  • @rupzip thanks! Make sure to check out all the other videos in the series

  • i own a v35. and IY servicing on it is ALWAYS a pain. there is nothing easy to do. this vid is great

  • I did exactly what he said but I had another harness that goes to my glove box....i took that out also... All the wires are back I double checked, but now my damn ari bag light keeps flashing while i drive. I have a 2003 g35 coupe...Can someone pleae help me. Thanks!!

    Wikid video btw!

  • If that was the wire with a yellow tab on it then its your air bag sensor, hope you got that taken care of by now :) I just did this today...

  • Yeh they reset it...thanks

  • Thanks SO MUCH! Just changed my filter using this tutorial.

    I lost a screw though :'(

  • Just changed my own filter thanks to this video. You saved me about an hour or two of labor costs from the dealership for a ten minute job. Wish my filter was labled as well as yours though. The Nissan name was one way and the arrow was pointing the opposite. Thats all I had to go on. I went with the Nissan upside down and the arrow up. Hope thats right! Thanks for the vid.

  • BTW, my filter did NOT say UP. It was just an arrow. Had to add that in before some smart ass decided to comment. LOL.

  • Arrow faces down because the air flow comes from the top.I just did mine

  • Who designs these cars??? It's so hard to change a filter.

  • thanks alot

  • Thanks for the video.

  • Thank you for posting this! My lungs say the same.

You saved me a lot of money on this one.

  • A BLOODY AWESOME TUTORIAL!!! thanks sooo much for this ^^

  • an absolute credit to the YOUTUBE experience!

We sincerely thankyou, from way down under!

Can you believe someone actually found a mouses in this assembly!...wow!

  • Is it the same for Nissan Pathfinder 2005?

  • If it has the VQ35DE, it probably the same, but I can't be certain - I've never worked on a pathfinder before.

  • thanks for the post. Does anyone know how much these filters usually run for? I found one for 50 and one for 30; not sure if the cheaper one is the same type of filter. Thanks!

  • just bought mine today at advanced auto parts for $13 haha. good luck!

  • was it the OEM filter?

  • Thank you! This was easy to follow and saved me a bunch of money by showing how to do it myself. I appreciate your taking the time to make this video and share it.

  • Great job on the video, I just have one question: Which way does the air flow? My filter doesn't specify which way the arrow should be pointing, only that it should be pointing in the appropriate direction of the airflow. I'm thinking it would be up, but the text is written on the filter such that making the arrow point up would mean that the text is upside down. Please help!

  • if you pull out a used filter, you'll see leaves & other debris collecting on top, which would imply the air flow is from top to bottom.

  • Great thanks. Much appreciated!

  • Very nice, GOOD JOB!!!

  • Thank you! I found a dead mouse on my cabin air filter! Thats what that smell was! Time to drop the head liner and pull the carpet!

  • hahaha!! awesome :)

  • Awesome Videos! I have used them to replace the oil and in-cabin filter on my 2003 g35 coupe. I tried them on my 2007 G35 sedan but didn't work. I cant wait for your 2nd Gen Videos! :)

  • Great video! Does this also work for new style 2ng gen G35x sedan (2007)?

  • I'm not sure actually. You could try to follow it and see what happens. I'll be making videos for the 2nd generation G35 soon also.

  • I replaced my 2007 G35x (2nd gen) microfilter today. It took about 30 min. 2nd gen is also very similar to this video except you also need to pull up the side panel next to the glove box as well as you need to pull up the glove box just before taking out the screws for the panel. In addition, I found the service manual helpful (can be found in g35 forums). I got the TYC replacement filter for 16 + 5 for shipping (OEM was 45). Very good quality. Thanks again for the video, it helped a lot.

  • about damn time I see a point to point DIY on our car. Great DIY thanks

  • no problem. check my other videos and you'll see many more DIYs

  • Speaking of which, I was actually just doing that now.

By any chance do you have a detailed DIY for a Rear bumper cover Install?

  • I don't actually, however it should be quite straight forward. message me your email and I can send you instructions

  • just changed my engine air filter and cabin air filter changed thanks to your DIY videos! thanks a bunch.

btw, you have very ungrateful friends lol, making fun of the man doing the filter change for them...

  • thanks alot man, ive been needing to change and havent because ive been afraid of breaking something.

  • man, I got the link to this video from the G35 Forum NICOclub....thanks a lot for posting this video...you just saved us $70+.

  • you just made my day, thanks :)

  • please tell me you know your floors mats are upsidedown

  • yeah, we noticed that. Luckily it wasn't my G :)
